AMARANTH
"She is coming to her powers sooner than I thought. I hope her Moon Goddess knows what she is doing." Tobias has been updating me on the progress with my great granddaughter. I just didn't know she was going to find such strong powers so soon. When the Moon Goddess approached me to ask me if I wanted revenge, she explained everything to me but didn't say that she would be so powerful so soon.
"I think I have to go visit her sooner than I thought. Tell Rhina to be prepared. She needs to grant me entry to their realm." I hope my sister is in the mood to see me. Last time she let me go, I came back pregnant, and our other sister Saphyre went crazy and became a dark fairy.
"Ma'm, you might be the queen, but your sister Rhina is the guardian. She might not think it is a good idea for you to go. Last time, she got in a lot of trouble, and now you are going to lead a war. When I went to alert all the guardians about the upcoming war, not everyone was on board. The dragons are all for it. Those creatures are always looking for a reason to fight. The pixies, gnomes, and sprites are ready, but your sister, she doesn't want the fairies to participate in what she calls a wolf war. The rest of your sisters agree that he needs to be stopped. If he manages to make her his mate, we are all domed." Rhina was always hard to convince, but she will come around.
"Oh, Ma'am, the witches...." Tobias is hesitating. The witches are not supposed to participate. We made a deal long ago. All covens stay neutral.
"What about the witches?" I ask concerned.
"There are some mixed emotions, but some want to participate. There are rumors that the Black Velvet Coven wants to make a deal with Cecil. If they join, Everly alone won't stand a chance." Those witches always treacherous, they can't even respect Hecate.
"Pay close attention to them. If Amanda and Cecil strike a deal, we will need to find witches who want to join us." I may have to call the goddesses to get their help.
"I can contact the Rose Dust and the Cerulean Star Coven. They are good witches who might be interested in helping. They are strong, too." If we get those covens as allies, we might have a chance.
"Fine, talk to them, I will talk to Rhina and convince her. without her approval, we can't cross the veil." I have to prepare to visit my sister and my great granddaughter, my time here is almost over, I will cease to exist very soon, but I have to save Everly before I leave this world.
EVEY'S POV
It's been a week since I moved with Drew and I miss my pack, everyone is very nice and welcoming, but I feel like a visitor, I can't get used to being in the pack house, nothing wrong with it, on the contrary, it is beautiful it has big windows all around with roofs that look like those you see at castles, it is warm and cozy inside with a welcoming foyer that leads to a big living room followed by a big kitchen and dining room where almost everyone gathers for meals. They house unmated warriors as well as Omegas who help around the house with chores. The Beta and Alpha quarters are at the top of a set of stairs that split in two, circling around so you can go to the left or to the right, the right is Andrew's, there are about 5 bedrooms just on his side of the floor. I asked to be in my own room, I am accepting that Drew is my mate, but I still need to go slow, I still have the feeling that I am betraying Shay by being with Andrew. I see he is frustrated, but he is giving me my space and put me in the room next to his. These days, he is busy with pack work and trying to find someone who can help us understand the history behind my wolf. I haven't had any incidents since that night at Forest Hills, which I am grateful for. Other than the Alpha, nobody else knows anything about me. I haven't shifted since I got here, mostly because I am afraid that others will be scared of me like my former pack. The Alpha took it extremely well. He just told Andrew to find out as much as he could about the prophecy so we know how best protect the pack. I must say I was surprised by his calmed demeanor. He seems like a good man, and everyone in the pack loves him and respects him just as much as they do Andrew.
"Evey, there you are. I have been looking for you. Your mate told my mate a little bit about your wolf" I am surprised to hear that Andrew shared my secret with someone that is not a pack member. I feel a little betrayed and angry at the same time. " Oh, don't worry. You can put the flame down. Dalton and I are no threat to you." Luna Ali tries to calm me, pointing at the small ball of fire forming in my fingers. Luna Ali and Alpha Dalton are Luna Alexia's parents. They are retired from Moon Light Pack now that their son Alpha Jeremy took over, they are here visiting, getting to help while Luna Alexia is at the hospital. I know they are good people and mean well, but Andrew had no right to tell them something, so private for me, he should've asked.
"Evey, I'm sorry, I understand that you might not want to share this with anyone, but your mate needs to find answers. Dalton and I won't judge. In our time as Alpha and Luna, we came across several situations. We are actually very familiar with the prophecy. Why don't we go inside and discuss this in the library? Your mate is already there with my mate." Luna Ali is guiding me inside the pack house from the gardens.
"Evey, I'm glad you are here.' Alpha Dalton greets me. He is still a scary as everyone says him to be, with his hard features, but the more I get to know him, I think he is actually a nice man.
Andrew comes to my side and smiles at me as soon as he sees me. I give him a half smile and then look at Alpha Dalton.
"Let's all have a seat so we can talk." Andrew guides us all to a table that is by a window. We are surrounded by several books and other seating areas. Pack members come here to do research from time to time.
"Evey, first you need to know that Moon Light and White Creek pack are not only neighboring packs, but they are also allies. I watched Alpha Colt and Beta Andrew grow up. I am close with your mate's parents as I was with the Alpha's. We would never betray their trust. We will guard this secret until you are ready to share it with the others." Alpha Dalton tries to soften the conversation that I am going to have with Andrew when we are alone.
"Thank you, Alpha." I say smiling, and he smiles in return.
"Now, as a member of the council, I am privy of certain information that not everyone has access to." I guess I should've trusted that my mate knew what he was doing.
"Years ago, the members of the council before me had an interesting meeting with a certain fairy. Fairies usually keep to themselves, and they certainly do not mate with other species, but she was the mate of Clyde Mohan, the Alpha of Twin Ponds Pack." As Dalton is telling the story something does come to my mind.
"Mohan and in The Moon? Was he directly related to the Moon Goddess?" I ask my wolf in disbelief.
