22 Amber When I woke up, my heart pounded hard against my rib cage and panic bloomed under my skin. I found myself tied to a pillar in the middle of a large, strange room. The ground, walls, and tall ceiling were smooth in some parts, but most of it seemed like rough stone, as if it had been carved inside a mountain. Coarse pillars like the one I was tied to lined the room, and right in the middle was some sort of dais with a throne-like chair made of dried and twisted tree branches. “She’s awake!” someone yelled beside me, startling me.
