The whole plan was blown. Ruby had hoped to keep everything seeming normal until it was time to free the wolfkin. Instead, she’d brought too much attention to herself. Tyler and Magnus were staring at her with an intensity that let her know that she wouldn’t be able to sneak around unnoticed.
She tried to concentrate on the bright side. Lanson seemed well enough to get up and make a nuisance of himself, which was remarkable after being shot three times. And she’d managed to get him to settle down again.
Ruby avoided looking at Tyler. This entire night was not going the way she had hoped. It was beginning to look like she might have to accept that they were all stuck here for a few days until she could find a way to release the wolfkin.
