Chapter 50
By the time Tyler finally convinced Magnus to join him, Ruby had gone. Tyler rushed out of the healer’s cottage, dragging Magnus behind him.
It wasn’t that Magnus didn’t want to go. He just wanted to pack up all his gear. But there was no time for that. Tyler only allowed him to put on his shoes while Tyler collected whatever equipment he could grab and stuff into Magnus’s bag.
On his way out, Tyler snatched up his mother’s blanket and tied it over one shoulder and across his chest. Over that, he slung his bow and arrows.
Outside, the air was filled with howls. Some of the howlers were slamming against their cages, roaring as though they thought they were lions.
