Selina took a foul-smelling item out of her bag and explained to me, "This is a thylacoleo scent gland. If we fill it with water and sprinkle it around us, it will emit the scent of a thylacoleo. Thylacoleos are territorial creatures. If other thylacoleos smell that one is already here, they won't come near."
As Selina explained, she sprinkled the water mixed with the thylacoleo scent around the base of our tree. It made me feel much more at ease, and I was about to hold Selina and rest. Just then, a strange noise came from the silent forest, and the bushes started to shake.
