CHAPTER ELEVEN:

CONTINUE ALEX POV:

The next morning, my alarm clock went off. I just took it off and just laid it there. Today is the day I leave for basic training. I am excited. I can't help make the world a better place. About five minutes later, I finally got up and got dressed. I was on my way out of my room when I got a mind link from my brother. He asked, “Would you like a training partner today?”

I replied “Sure, I am going running first, then I need a sparring partner.”

Zane replied, “I will meet you downstairs in a few minutes.” A few minutes later, I was already waiting outside for him. While I was waiting, I started to stretch. Then he came down and started to stretch for a minute. We then started off by running. About six miles in, there was a gunshot. Zane and I stopped and I looked at him and I instantly knew he was mindlinking someone. Once his vision came into life, I asked “who got shot?”

Zane replied, “One of the rogues tried to get himself on Celena’s granddaughter, but he didn’t realize she was packing heat on her. I mean, I am glad she can protect herself when she needs to.”

I replied, “Yeah, I heard she is going into the Army. And she is leaving today just like me.”That is when Zane stopped in his tracks. I couldn’t figure out why. Then Zane asked me if I was ready to go to the training grounds for a little bit. I agreed, so we headed over there. Once we got to the grounds, I noticed there were people already sparring. We watched them for a little bit and I have to say she is an amazing fighter. Jack complimenting her about her punches. That is when she turned to us and I looked at my brother and I noticed that his eyes turned silver, saying that the mate bond had been found. I smiled for a second. I am glad he has found her and she is not Ashley. Jack introduced us and we started to spar together. I looked over, and I saw that she was actually whipping his ass. I smiled at that. I actually started to laugh. Jack looked where I was watching, and he stood by and started to laugh as well. It was fun to see. I guess being mates means he gets his ass whoop. That is when I heard a voice behind me. I looked behind me and saw it was. Ashley said “Hey, what is going on here?”

I replied, “We are just training, why?”

Ashley replied “Well, I need my boyfriend.” You don’t mind, do you, umm, I don’t know your name.”

Nala replied “Nala, and he is all yours if he wants to go. I don’t have a say.”

Ashley gave Nala a narrowed look and said “You might want to watch your mouth before it gets you in trouble around here.”

Nala replied, “By whom, you. You just spoke for a few minutes. I already know you don’t train. Well, not really anyway. I know you pick me, and you want everything your way and throw a tantrum when you don’t get your way. So I feel sorry for Zane here because he is your “boyfriend” or, more accurately, someone there to help him with his needs. Because let’s be honest, your voice is very annoying. But I have to get back to training. " Jack, are you ready to go again?” I was trying hard not to laugh at what Nala said to Ashley, because she was right.

Ashley said “I will hurt you b***h. You need to take back what you said, or you will get your ass kicked.”

Nala replied “I am betting you won't be able to hurt a damn fly because they are smarter than you.” That is all it took before Ashley started to charge at Nala. Ashley reached her and started to punch and scratch at Nala. But she dodged every attack that was thrown at her. That is when Nala grabbed Ashley by her head and had her in a headlock. Ashley was struggling to get out of it. To be honest, this was an interesting thing to watch because Nala is human, but she whooped Zane’s ass and now Ashley. But I kept that thought to myself. That is when Nala said “See what I said about you not really training. Now you're going to go to sleep because you won't be able to get out of this. " Say good night.” Nala kept squeezing. That is when Jack stepped in and said “Nala, let go. " You made your point.” Nala did as he said. Ashley started to cough and started to cry at Zane. Ashley said “You tried to kill me. Zane, you have to do something. Kick her off our territory.”

Zane replied, “No, I am not doing that. You started it by going at her. You're just mad because you couldn’t actually hurt her. And that is a good thing because she is different from us.”

Ashley replied, “You are supposed to take my side all the time. I am your girlfriend.”

Zane was getting frustrated, and he replied “No, we are not. I told you twice yesterday and I will tell you again today and this is my last time I am telling you. " I am not into you. " We are not together, so please don’t call me baby, babe or anything like that.” He went over to Nala to make sure she wasn’t hurt.

Nala answered, “No, she hit me once, and it felt like I was getting hit by a one-year-old.” Her answer shocked me, because honestly, a human fights with a werewolf and is not hurt and thinks she is getting hit by a kid. That is when she looked down at her watch and heard “Jack, we have to go. Nice to meet you, Alex and Zane.” With that, they started to walk away. Zane was trying to go after him, but Ashley grabbed his arm. He looked at her. She said, “Now, that b***h is gone. Why don't we go upstairs and have a little bit of fun?”

Zane replied “Ashley, I said no and that means no. If you don’t leave me alone, I will put you in the cells for a little bit, plus you were trying to put us in front of a human because of your jealousy even though we are not together. You need to get over it and realize I am not mating you. You will never be my Luna. Do you understand now or do I have to dumb it down for you? Because you still don’t understand. " I don’t mean to be mean, but you leave me no choice. " Now you will stop touching me, and you will be calling me by my title from now on. " Do you understand?” With that, he turned around and saw that she was already almost gone. He then started to leave. Ashley just stood there. I looked at my phone to see what time it was. I literally had to go get a shower, and then I had to leave for basic training. I started to run and Ashley asked “What is the hurry? Do you want to have fun with me and just hang out?”

I replied, “Ashley, you repulse me, I will never be with a slut like you. You are disgusting and not worth the wrath when I find my mate. And I have somewhere else to be instead of in your bed.” With that, I ran into the packed house and I got in the shower. I took a really fast shower and I got out and got dressed in my uniform. I then grabbed my bag and started to head out, when I heard three shots again. That is when Zane came out of his office and started to run downstairs. I asked “what’s going on?”

Zane said, “I have to get the grate. Come with me. I will explain on our way.” So I went with him. Zane started to explain what was going on. So we started to hurry up to the gate. That is when we heard another gunshot. Once we got there, we stopped running, and we entered the warrior's hut at the front gates. Once we were inside the hut, I noticed there were two rogues, Jack, Nala and the warrior. That is when Zane asked with authority “what’s going on here?”

Nala replied, “Well, these people are looking for me because they want me to protect them from a guy named the Rogue King. " And honestly, I believe they won't hurt anyone and the other people who he was with are dead.” The two people that were behind Nala looked scared be in front of Zane and a high-rating pack member. And Nala asked, “Is there any way you can find housing for them just for them to have protection from this guy?”

Zane looked at Nala and asked “Do you believe them?”

Nala replied, “I don’t believe or trust people easily. Just ask my grandmother, but yes, I trust these guys.”

Zane said, “Fine, we will have a house for you both, but don’t try anything, and you will be watched until Nala can get back.” Understood?”

The guy replied, “Thank you, Alpha, thank you protector. " You just saved my family and me, and I am indebted to you for the rest of your life.”

Nala replied, “Nala, and just stay true to yourselves and keep your family safe. Don't cause any issues with these nice people". And we will be good. Deal?”

The woman just came and hugged her and said “Thank you so much! And we will not cause problems. " You have our word.” She smiled and said, “Well, I have to go. But I will be back soon.” With that, Jack said, “Go get into the car, we really need to go. " I will meet you there, and I need to talk to Zane really fast.” She nodded and walked away. Zane then started to stare at her retreating figure.
