Chapter 1
Namirah
“Never. Come. Back.”
Those 3 words play over and over again my head, haunting me.
I stop as I get to the door of the plane looking back feeling unsure of my decision.
Am I being ridiculous? Should I go home?
“Excuse me Mam, please come in and take your seat there are others waiting behind you” the flight attendant says nicely.
“Oh yes sorry.”
After taking my seat I look out the window and watch as my home disappears from sight. The tears in my eyes flow freely.
“Are you okay dear?” I look to see a concerned older woman sitting next to me.
“I will be” I reply with a forced smile.
“You know, it’s okay not to be okay. But rest assured knowing that everything will be okay in the end. And if it’s not, then it’s not the end.”
My wolf instincts tell me that she is a witch.
“So where are you heading dear?”
“Ecuador.”
“Ah me too, I’m going to surprise some family of mine. What about you?”
“I have some business to attend to.”
We continue our small talk for most of the way until a voice comes through the speaker.
“Please fasten your seatbelts as we descend to land.”
As we exit the plane the woman turns back to me.
“Sorry dear I didn’t catch your name.”
“Namirah Knight ma’am. And what about you?”
“Victoria, Victoria Andino.”
‘Now what’ I think to myself. Do I just stand around and wait? Is he here to pick me up?
I head to the bathroom to freshen myself up a bit. As I splash some water on my face the hair on the back of my neck stand up. When I look back up into the mirror I see a man with a black mask and a woman smiling creepily behind me.
“Hello, Namirah.” Her voice is smooth yet eerie.
Then the masked man grabs me by the back of my head slamming me onto the basin before everything goes black.

What the hell... Where the hell...
“Did you really have to knock her unconscious? Then inject her with wolfsbane to slow down her healing?” I hear a man say.
“You can blame that on your general, it was his idea” a woman replies.
“Violent as ever... I’m sure she would have willingly come with you when she’s the one who chose to come here” he snaps.
That indeed sounds like Demetrius. Now I know where I am.
“My apologies, master” the woman replies.
My eyes flutter open adjusting to the bright light. Looking down I see silver cuffs around my wrists and ankles. I give them a pull gaining the attention of my captors.
“Demetrius.”
“Ah good you’re awake, my deepest apologies for what happened on your arrival believe me that is not what I had intended got you. It seemed my general had his own plan in mind, nevertheless I will get him to apologise.”
“No need” I spit.
For a minute it’s silent while I look back and forth between the pair in front of me. It was her in the bathroom. Judging by her aura she must be the dark witch.
“Oh this is my dear friend, Violetta. As you’ve probably already picked up she is a witch.”
“How do you do, Namirah” she says politely, I scoff in return.
“How the f**k do you think I am” I snap at her trying to break my shackles only for them to get tighter around my wrists.
“Just relax, Namirah” Demetrius says.
“What am I doing here Demetrius?”
“All will be revealed soon but for now my general will take you for a walk, I have a surprise for you.”
“I don’t like surprises.”
“Oh I’m sure you’ll like this one” he smiles flashing his fangs sending chills down my spine.
Then the door opens revealing the masked man.
“If you will general” he says to him.
The man nods then walks over to me. He bends down and unchains me from the chair, removing the shackles around my ankles. I take this opportunity to knee him in the stomach catching him off guard making him curl over.
“That’s for knocking me out you asshole.”
