Chapter Ten: Annoyed

It is around eleven o'clock in the morning when Violet and Nickel arrive at Armstrong's Empire. Since the receptionist knew Nickel as the son of their boss, they let them continue going upstairs to see their CEO. Though they are confused because of Violet, the receptionists ignore that thought, thinking she's the mother of Nickel, since the little boy hugs her with a smile on his face. As for Violet, she ignores them even though she hears the receptionists talking about her. Therefore, Violet didn't waste her time and rode on the elevator since she was itching to talk to Dustin. Minutes had passed when they arrived on the floor where Dustin's office was, and then, Violet saw a woman who was busy reading a document. With that, Violet walks towards the woman who is still busy reading the document and asks her about Dustin. Violet knew that she needed to make an appointment to visit Dustin. However, she needed to see him and explain to him what happened to them earlier. That's why Violet is hoping that the woman in front of her will let her see Dustin.

Violet is already in front of the woman when she clears her throat to get some attention. As she carries Nickel, Violet can't help but smile since she feels like she's the birth mother of the child she's holding. And then, Violet notices the confused look of the woman, who is now immediately stopped from what she's doing. With a smile on her face, Violet asks the woman in front of her, who's still staring at her with an amazed expression.

"Excuse me, Miss, is Dustin in his office?" Violet asked in confusion.

"Yes, Ma'am. Do you have an appointment with him?" the woman replied to Violet with a sweet smile on her face.

"Nothing, but I am here to see him," Violet said before scratching her chin while holding Nickel in her arms.

"Sorry, Ma'am, but you need to make an appointment first, before visiting him here," the woman answered Violet with an apologetic expression plastered on her face.

"I know, Miss. Still, I want to see him since I have to tell him something important. Besides, his son is with me."

"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but, you can't disturb him for now."

Violet is about to answer the woman in front of her when the door in Dustin's office suddenly opens. After that, Violet saw Dustin with a woman at his side. All of a sudden, Violet didn't understand why she felt annoyed thinking that Dustin was being sweet to another woman. And then, Violet saw the surprised look of Dustin upon seeing her in his company. For that reason, Violet feels annoyed even more when she notices that the woman is still clinging to him.

Instead of making a scene, Violet chose to calm herself since she didn't want Nickel to be afraid of her. Aside from that, Violet knew that she didn't have the right to stop Dustin from entertaining another woman. However, what Violet didn't accept the most was when Dustin didn't think about his son's feelings. In addition, Violet doesn't want Nickel to become confused about their situation. With a blank face, Violet looks at Dustin, who is now surprised in front of her. All of a sudden, Dustin can't understand why he feels nervous while staring at Violet, who still has an annoyed expression on her face.

"Violet, you're here!" Dustin let out with a shocked expression written on his face.

"Yes, Dustin. I'm planning to talk to you about something but it seems you are busy."

"Oh! Can you wait for me for a while, Violet?"

"No need, Dustin, I will drop your son at your mansion since you're still busy. Besides, I have something that needs to do," Violet explains to Dustin.

Without a second thought, Violet leaves in front of him while she's still carrying Nickel, who is now sleeping in her arms. When Violet is gone, his other secretary clears her throat before talking to him. Looking at his secretary, Dustin can't be wrong. She looked scared of him since he noticed her trembling hands.

"S-Sir. Dustin, I think your wife is jealous."

"W-Wife?"

"Yes, Sir. Am I wrong, Sir? Dustin?"

Rather than answering her, Dustin realized what her secretary wanted to say to him. That's why he didn't waste his time and followed Violet, not minding the woman who was still clinging to him. As for the woman who clung to Dustin's arms earlier, she couldn't help but feel annoyed when he left her without saying anything to her. Instead of waiting for him, the woman chose to leave while she was still aggravated about what happened. Aside from that, the woman who clung to Dustin's arms earlier didn't expect that he already had a wife. Afraid that her reputation would be tarnished, the woman decided not to bother Dustin anymore and didn't want to ruin her image as a perfect model to all of her fans.

Maxine Fortalejo is already in the parking lot of Armstrong's Empire, but she is still furious because of what happened earlier. The truth is, Dustin is the man of her dreams. However, Maxine didn't expect that he already had a wife. Although Maxine knew that Dustin had a son, she didn't know that his wife was still alive. For that reason, Maxine can't help but feel ashamed of herself since all this time she has been acting like a mistress. Even though Maxine is hurt because of what she discovered, she accepts the reality that Dustin can't be with her anymore. And then she realized: why is Dustin acting towards her as if he's speaking to his business clients?

"Ma'am Maxine, where are we going now?"

"In my apartment, Mr. Jules".

"Got it, Ma'am Maxine."

A minute later, they leave the area while Maxine is still quiet in the backseat. Suddenly, Maxine takes a deep breath, like she's stopping herself from crying because of the pain of her first heartbreak. Rather than thinking about it, Maxine chose to forget it and close her eyes to relax from the events of the day.
