“I think you’ll be very happy with your gifts this year, boys,” I tell Matthew and Eric with a smirk.
In truth, I am positively giddy tonight. I cannot wait for them to open the final present that I have hidden away. We’ll have a small Christmas Eve party this evening with friends, family, and some important clients from Matthew’s firm and Eric’s business. Afterward, when the guests leave, we decided to exchange our presents to one another. That way Christmas morning can be all about the kids. It was a decision I may have forced unilaterally because I don’t think I can wait another second longer than I have to for them to see this present.
