Chapter 19 "Take care of yourself, Samantha; don't starve yourself, and take your medications on time," Mom advised. I sadly nodded. She cuddled my cheek and took a deep breath. "Your brother needs my assistance, and I hope you understand." I nodded. I could understand why she had to leave, but I couldn't help but be sad. Mom was eager to leave after Kheed informed us of my brother's situation. It is missing and must be found, which made me concerned for its safety. "Don't worry, Sam. Luther is on his way," Kheed said, trying to lighten my mood. I nodded once more. Kheed and Lucas will be leaving in addition to mom. They will accompany Mom in her search for Hunter. So the only person left for me to be with is who they claim to be my boyfriend. Before Mom finally got in the car, she placed something in my hand. A necklace. When she spoke, I would have inquired as to its purpose. "You never take that off; I'm just giving it back to you, Sam." I nodded and quickly hid what she gave me in my pocket. "We're leaving," Mama said as she kissed my hair and hopped into the car that led us here. We came in threes, but I was the only one who stayed. "Update me, I'm also concerned about Hunter," Mom said, nodding and waving at me. Kheed started the car and drove away quickly. I was left alone in the sprawling garden of the mansion. "It'd be more fun if they were all here," I said softly as I walked back into the mansion. When Mom and Kheed left, all I could hear was silence. It was as if no one else was present besides me. The house is both beautiful and tranquil. It only adds to her sadness. I walked in, hesitantly, and saw Manang Lucinda washing dishes in the kitchen. I entered with a smile. "Let me assist you!" I said with a smile, she glanced at me and looked at me before smiling at me, "I think you need more rest, Lady Samantha." I took a look at where she is looking. I forgot my knee was still in a cast and my left hand was still bandaged. I was so excited to see the location that I forgot I was still injured. "One of my hands or feet is free; I can still assist you," I continue to respond. "It would be better if you just rested, Lady Samantha; otherwise, your boyfriend might scold me." "He won't know, and please just call me Samantha; I'm not used to being addressed formally." "It depends on whether the young master agrees, because he ordered us to respect you." " But... " " Please, Lady Samantha, just follow what he ordered," she begged, causing me to sigh. It appears that no matter how hard I try, it will not agree, when there is no go signal from my boyfriend. "Why, Lady Samantha? Are you bored?" She asked and I nodded in response. "This house is too big, but it's very quiet; I want to be energetic, but sadness drags me down." "You're right," she chuckled. "See? It's like a sad palace with a sad prince living in it. Ooh, maybe that's why he acts like that?" I suddenly reflected on what I had said. " What's wrong with my attitude?" a baritone voice from the living room asked. When I turned around, there stood in front of me a handsome man. While looking at me, he was removing his tie. It makes no attempt to be attractive, so why am I mesmerized by its eyes? "Welcome, young master," Manang Lucinda said as he entered. In a panic, I mimicked Manang's actions and bowed in 360 degrees. "Has she eaten?" he inquired again. I sighed, relieved as I watched him go straight to the fridge to fetch a glass jug that I believe contained wine. "Yes, young master," Manang replied politely. "She ate a lot of food." "Good," he said, looking at me, who was still bowing. "Are you going to stay like that?" I quickly straightened myself up. If only I had a mirror, I'd see that my cheeks are flushed with embarrassment. Why does my brain disagree with the situation and cause me to act this way? Okay, I know he's my boyfriend, but do I have to freak out in front of him? He poured wine into the glass he also took from the kitchen and was about to drink when I snatched it away from him. "What are you doing?" he asked, his voice irritably raised. "Are you going to drink at three o'clock in the afternoon?" I inquired. "What does it mean to you?" Okay, now back to me! "It's just that it's too early for alcohol; are you Chinese?" I jokingly asked. He took my clinging hand away from his glass. "It's my house, my rules, and I'm free to drink whenever I want." "I'm not claiming it," I replied with a sneer, which drew a frown from him. His menacing expression has returned. "Because you'll never get it." Look at his behavior; he was only recently prohibited from drinking, and he was immediately rude. I'll give you war if this is what you want. "Who would want a big and beautiful but full of sadness inside? I wouldn't take it either," I grumbled. I noticed his jaw moving, and he gave me a glared. "Then leave; no one is stopping you." "Young master," Manang said, but the young man ignored him. He has a really bad attitude. How did he end up as my boyfriend? "You chose to make me live here; I didn't force you. Now, if you're going to treat me like that, I really think it's better if I just go home," I said, shaking my head and turning away. I'm still baffled as to how I fell in love with this man. Apart from his frightening appearance, his behavior is also extremely repulsive. What did I eat to say yes to this person? I exited the passageway, carrying the suitcases we had brought earlier. I shook my head and continued on my way out of the mansion. Kheed will surely bring it back to us. The distance between the mansion and the gate was long, and I was already experiencing pain in the leg where a cast was attached. My legs appear to have been overworked. I came to a halt and sat on the side of the road to rest. I wasn't even out of breath as I walked because I was only a short distance away from the mansion. How should I move ahead? I can't call my mother and tell her that my boyfriend is throwing me out the first day I arrive. She was already concerned about my brother, so I didn't want to add to her concerns. I turned to see how far I had to walk after looking at the road I was going to walk on. It's going to be a long walk. I was siting in this position when I noticed movement in the bushes. I spun around to look for the source of the noise. What could it possibly be? Is it possible that a thief broke in? Maybe because the house here is large and obviously inhabited by wealthy people, she won't be surprised if someone tries to rob it. But... Why am I the first person to notice it? Lord! I'm still hurt! I'm still unable to defend myself. I can't even kick! So worried about what might happen to me, I forced myself to stand. I have to go back inside. I don't care about what that man says; what matters is that I have someone with me if this is the last moment of my life. But before I could even get to my feet, I felt a foot step on my left side. Despite my fear, I forced myself to turn around and saw a huge dog staring at me evilly. Oh my God...
