"now that the introductions are over, come on" she stretched out her hand towards me with a toothy smile "lemme take you to your room"
I smiled back at her and got out of the bed, taking her outstretched hand.
"You'll love this pack...uhh I mean place. It's amazing"she said with excitement.
"To be honest I still don't know where I am" I said, realizing that I could be far away from home.
"Don't worry" she flicked her wrist, showing off her perfectly manicured fingers "we're still within the state, so that means you're just a few miles away from home"
She linked both our arms together and led me through a series of halls that didn't seem to end. The halls were filled with paintings that looked like they would be expensive. Some were pictures of people and some were of wolves.
"This place is huge" I whispered
Jazzy chuckled "wait till you see the entire building" she leaned closer to whisper in my ear "you'll be blown away"
We stood in front of a brown door and when she opened it, my jaw dropped.
"This is your room!" She announced
"You call this a room! This is a f*****g house INSIDE of a house" I exclaimed.
She walked into the room and looked around with a bored expression on her face "not really, it's just enough for one person I guess"
Did she just say enough for one person? Oh my gosh, tell me you're rich without telling me you're rich.
There was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room, the walls were painted a light shade of blue and the decorations where top of the art. Everything seemed to have been well thought out before it was placed in its position. There was a walk in closet that was bigger than my entire house and the bathroom had a swimming pool. Okay it wasn't a swimming pool, but it was big enough for me to label it as one.
"I..I can't take this, it's too much" I said.
Her brows scrunched up in fake annoyance "you can't refuse it, it's the alpha's orders"
"The alpha? Who's that?" I asked in confusion
Jazzy's eyes went wide like a deer caught in headlight. She blinked a couple times, fluttering her long lashes like a butterfly before turning around to point at a random object
"This lamp is pretty right?" She said, trying to change the topic
"That's not a lamp jazzy" she looked at what she was pointing at and realized it was an alarm clock.
She laughed awkwardly "it looks like a lamp. maybe they wanted to make a lamp but changed their minds last minute and turned it to an alarm clock instead"
Why was she trying desperately to change the topic? Is this something I wasn't supposed to know about? But then again, if I'm gonna be working here then I need to know everything about them.
"Jazzy" I held her gaze "what's an alpha"
"It's nothing important" she said, brushing it off
"It's not nothing, it's important isn't it?" I asked, trusting my gut to lead the questioning.
She sighed dramatically "I wasn't supposed to tell you this way" she said in a mixture of disappointment and annoyance
"It doesn't matter how you tell me, what matters is that you do tell me" I said
She stared at me with a sudden look in her eyes and I felt a little bit uncomfortable under her gaze
"Wow! That's some wisdom zen s**t right there" she said
"Don't change the subject jazzy"
"Okay! Okay! I'll tell you but you have to promise me one thing"
"What is it?"
"That whatever I say you're not gonna freak out"
I nodded my head "Okay, I promise I won't freak out"
She sat on the bed and tapped the spot beside her with her palm. "Sit down" she said
I sat down beside her and I watched her the entire time. She seemed to be uneasy and indecisive.
I held her hand "don't worry, I can take it. Just tell me" I said with a smile, I wanted her to calm down.
It's such a mystery and wonder to me how we can meet someone for the first time and have an instant connection with the person. It felt like I've known jazzy for years. If reincarnation do exist, then maybe we were best friends or sisters in our previous life.
"Have you heard of supernatural creatures before?" She asked, her voice breaking my thoughts
"Yeah I guess I have. I used to watch supernaturals when I was younger" I replied
She rolled her eyes "not the movie, I mean supernatural creatures"
"You mean like vampires, fairies, werewolves and s**t?"
Her eyes lit up like a bulb "yeah like that! Werewolves"
"O-kay, so what about them?"
She opened her mouth to say something but then she closed it, she shifted uncomfortably and stared at her hands "this is harder than I thought" she muttered
"We can take it a step at a time" I said, trying to make it easier for her.
"I'm gonna use movies to make this easier" She let out a heavy breath and fixed me with a determined stare "you've watched vampire diaries right. Elena, Stefan blah blah blah"
"I didn't watch the movie" her expression turned gloomy "but I've read the book" I quickly added and she became excited again
"Okay that's good. So what did you notice about the story? What stood out the most?"
"Uhh.....the love triangle I guess" I said, suddenly feeling a little pressure. I read novels but I never talked about them to anyone. This was a first for me
"And?" She urged
"And.....Damon's a sexy vampire" I blurted out
She giggled "really! That's the only thing that stuck from the book" she c****d her head to the side
"Well other than the fact that it's about vampires and romance, it wasn't really a Shakespeare novel to dissect"
She bent her head low, her hair covering her face from view. "This is so hard" she raised her head to stare at me "I don't want to scare you away"
"Why are you scared that I'm gonna run away or freak out when I find out this secret that you can't seem to tell me"
Her expression turned dark "because it isn't a secret for humans to know"
