The guilt weighed heavy on his mind. He wished he'd done more to keep Gully and Mikey from getting to Aliyah. She insisted that she was fine, but he could see a line of light purple coming up on her throat.
He didn't say this aloud, but he'd asked to stay with her out of fear. He knew Gully knew where she was staying, and he knew Gully was a wildcard. He didn't want to leave her side and risk him getting ahold of her again.
She laid next to him not touching him, not even his hand. She looked lost in thought, just lying on her side staring blankly past Neo and at the door.
