Chapter 1.B: Fifth Street
The next day, I couldn't focus at work. I kept on checking my phone, looking over my shoulder, and jumping at every little sound. It was like the whole world was closing in on me, and I couldn't escape the feeling of being watched.
As the day went on, I am aware that my anxiety grows, and I couldn't take it anymore. I left work early and went to see my best friend, Emily. Emily had always been there for me, and I know that she could trust me.
When I arrived at Emily's apartment, I broke down in tears. I told Emily everything that had been happening, and Emily listened intently, offering me support and comfort.
"I don't know what to do, Emily," I said, wiping away my tears. "I feel like I'm going crazy."
"You're not crazy, Sia," Emily said, taking my hand. "But you need to do something about this. Have you thought about going to the police?"
I shook my head. "No, I haven't. I don't even know if they would believe me."
Emily gave me a determined look. "We can go together if you want. But you need to do something. You can't keep living like this."
I knew that Emily was right. I couldn't keep going on like this. I needed to take action. And so, with Emily by my side, I went to the police station and reported everything that had been happening.
At first, the police didn't seem to take me seriously. But as I continue to recount the strange occurrences, they started to realize that there might be something more to it.
"We'll look into this, Miss," the officer said, taking down my information. "But for now, I suggest you stay with a friend or family member. Just to be safe."
I nodded, feeling slightly relieved. At least someone was taking me seriously.
As I left the police station, I couldn't help but feel like I was finally taking control of the situation. And as I got into Emily's car and drove away, I know that whatever was going on, I had the support of my loved ones.
But she doesn't know that the love conspiracy was far from over. And that things were about to get even more dangerous
As Sia and Emily drove away from the police station, they were unaware that they were being followed. A car was tailing them, and its occupants had no good intentions.
We arrived at Emily's apartment, and I felt a sense of relief knowing that I was safe for now. But as we walk towards the entrance, we were ambushed by two masked men who came out of nowhere.
I screamed relentlessly as one of the men grabbed me, and the other pointed a g*n at Emily. "Don't move, or I'll shoot!" he shouted.
My heart was pounding in my chest as the men forced me to get into their car and drove away. I didn't know where they were taking me, but all I knew was it couldn't be good.
Meanwhile, Arden was starting to worry.
Sia had been acting strange lately, and I knew that something was wrong. I tried calling her several times, but she didn't answer. Finally, I decided to go to her apartment to check on her.
When I arrived, I found the door was unlocked. I called out her name, but there was no answer. I walked through the apartment, searching for any sign of her. And that's when I saw it.
On the kitchen table was a note, written in a handwriting that I could not recognize. It read: "If you want to see Sia again, come to the abandoned warehouse on 5th Street at midnight."
My heart sank as I read the note. I knew that I had to go, but I didn't know what I would find there. I called the police and told them everything, and they advised me to wait for backup.
But I couldn't wait. I knew that every second counted. I got into my car and drove towards the abandoned warehouse, praying that I was not too late.
When I arrived, I saw two cars parked outside, and I know that I was in the right place. I get out of my car and slowly made my way towards the entrance, my heart pounding in my chest.
As I walked through the darkened warehouse, I could hear muffled voices coming from somewhere in the distance. I followed the sound, and that's when I saw them.
Sia was tied up, her mouth taped shut, and her eyes wide with fear. And standing over her were two masked men, holding guns.
I don't know what to do. I had no weapons, and I was outnumbered. But I knew that I have to try to save Sia.
"Let her go," I said, my voice shaking. "Please."
The men turned towards me, and one of them pointed a g*n at me. "You shouldn't have come here," he said.
I held the ground, even though I was terrified. "I'm not leaving without her."
The men hesitated for a moment, and that was all the time I needed. I lunged forward, grabbing one of the men's guns and disarming him. I turned towards the other man, who was pointing his g*n at Sia, and I fired.
The man fell to the ground, and Sia screamed as she was released from her bonds. I ran towards her, holding her tight, feeling relieved that she was safe.
As we walk out of the abandoned warehouse, Sia clung to me, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you for saving me."
But we knew that the danger wasn't over. I know that whoever was behind the love conspiracy was still out there, and that they would stop at nothing to keep us apart. However, I was too determined to keep Sia safe, no matter what it took.
