Chapter 7 Chad / Jaz prep for War

542 Words
Chad’s POV My father had been looping me in on some of the reports and felt like due to our recent gains that it would be good for me to get out there now that it was a little safer according to him and get some real life experience. I couldn’t wait. I would have been out there on day one if he would allowed me. He said he was going to put me through some intense drills over the next few weeks and then he would go out with me to the front lines so I could see and prepare for if anything happened like this once he handled the pack over to me. I was so pumped. *** One week later. My days were blurring together. I was waking at five am every morning to train, going to school doing patrol after school and releasing any stress and frustration I had through Sarah and Tammy. Between them and my father I was only getting about five hours of sleep a night. My father told me today one maybe two more weeks and we would leave out. I was proud my father thought me ready for this. My mother on the other had was a nervous wreck and the women all wanted a piece of Chad before he left off to battles and into the “unknown.” I may not have been getting a lot of sleep but I was enjoying the life right now. Jasmine’ POV James was healed and training back at a regular pace now preparing to go back out to battle. I had been training with him for a little over a week. Our mornings started early with long runs two to five miles and training all day. I was a strong she-wolf having been of Alpha blood. I was getting into the best shape of my life. James told me I was a quick study and had even paired me off with some of our warriors to spar today. I held my own pretty good, the experience warriors only getting the jump on me once or twice. James did tell me to prepare right now I did well with regular prepared food and eight hours of sleep every night however that in battle we normally slept in shifts of about four hours near the front line. I was fine now but I knew I would be tired then. James feels in one to two more weeks’ time we will be ready to go to battle and push back for our land and gain the revenge for him and our fallen pack members. I would make my mother look down on me proudly. Only thing that worried me is now our father had decided to come along with us. He was acting out of character lately. I am not sure why but something deep In my gut told me that I would not like it when I did figure it out. Either way in approximately two weeks’ time I would be in battle and hopefully we would find Lindsey, my best friend and we would battle together. She would be impressed with the skills I had learned, and we could even spar each other for practice.
