Opening up

2821 Words
Dallas and Nash quietly held hands while the two in the back could hardly keep their hands off of each other.  It didn’t make Dallas uncomfortable; she was happy to see her sister so happy.  She was always a little more available emotionally than she was, so she wasn’t surprised to know she dove into this head first. She glanced over at Nash and her gaze would linger a little longer when she thought he wasn’t looking.  Was he really always going to be there?  Could she really trust him? What if she threw her chances away and then he just left her?  Nash could hear her thoughts and he just started rubbing her fingers with his thumb, trying to give her support.  He picked up her hand and kissed it gently.  She gave him a gentle smile and it made his heart skip a beat.  “How did I get so lucky?” He was looking at her for a moment. “Maybe I am the lucky one?”  She was trying so hard to be open to him and he appreciated all her efforts, she would get there.  He knew she would. “Hey love birds.  We are here.” Nash glanced into the rear-view mirror as he addressed them.  He checked in the car and then went back and grabbed the suitcase for Dallas and Owen followed suit.  It was a bit on the windy side as they walked to the private jet that was waiting for them.  Dallas just let her hair blow in the wind, and she looked like an angle to Nash.  A stewardess was waiting at the bottom of the stairs.  She greeted the women with a bow “Dallas, Jezzabelle” She nodded at each one.  She looked at Nash “Sir everything is ready as you requested.” “Thank you.  I appreciate your efforts for such a short notice flight.” He was handing off the suitcases to a pilot or someone and followed Dallas up the steps to the plane.  The girls were speechless when they walked onto the plane.  The soft leather seats were captain chair style in one part, so they didn’t have to sit next to each other and they swiveled all the way around. In the next part was long couches with a bar and a dining room table.  Everything was in white highlighted with dark green.  Jezz made her way to a couch and sat down, and Dallas followed suit.  Owen and Nash were not far behind them and walked up to the bar and Nash went on the other side. “I say we drink to the end of saga and to the newest chapters in all our lives.”  He poured 4 shots and the girls came up to the bar.  Dallas hardly ever drank mostly because she never felt safe, but she felt safe here with him.  They cheered each other and then drank.  Nash took out a couple of beers and walked back around the bar and took Dallas by the hand and led her to the couch.  “Tell me everything I need to know about ‘pack’ life.” Jezz said as she sat down across from them.  This initiated a long conversation with Owen and Nash explaining how life works in a pack.  What their pack does for money, how the businesses run.  How orderly life can be living with a pack.  Nash was quiet for a bit as he listened to his brother talk.  Dallas had her hand on his knee, and it was distracting him. “Well, something that we are leaving out is OUR status in the pack.” Nash finally sat forward to talk. “Yes, we own the companies but more importantly we are the Alpha family.  This means that as the first born I will take over the pack as the Alpha or it’s leader and Owen will be the Beta which is the second in command.  He will take over as Alpha if anything ever happens to me and I do not have any heirs to take my place.  Like I will be taking my father’s place.” “What does that mean for us?” Dallas asked quietly. “You, Darling, being my mate makes you the Luna of the pack or head female.  We work and run the pack as a team.  People will call you Luna out of respect as they call me Alpha.” Nash saw the concern in her eyes. “Don’t worry, Darling, my Mom and I will be with you every step of the way.  It is important that we are successful because the entire pack depends on us.” “No pressure there.” Dallas took a drink from her beer bottle.   Before they knew it the plane landed at Miami International Airport.  As the doors opened the warm spring air flowed into the cabin.  The steps were brought up to the door and all four stepped out and a crowd was waiting for them like they were rock stars. Dallas tried to turn around and walk back in the plane, but her sister stopped her and forced her to go forward.  Nash looked over at her worried about all the attention.  He saw her eyes flash amber and then back to brown as she took a deep breath and headed off the plane. He offered his elbow, and she took it suddenly feeling better. It was hard for her to have someone there for her as she felt support for him as they descended the stairs.  She had never had anyone but her sister.  She looked over the crowd and wondered if they were ALL werewolves.  She saw a beautiful woman standing right in the front with her eyes shining with pride, she guessed that was Nash’s mother.  As she got off the steps, she walked up to them.  “Mother, may I present Dallas Olson, my mate and my partner.” Dallas reached her hand out for a handshake and his mother took it and used it to pull her in for a hug.  It was a long and meaningful hug, one that initially made her uncomfortable and then it seemed so genuine. “May I present Jazzabelle Olson, my mate and life partner.” Owen winked at her as she stood there smiling. His mother did the same thing to Jezz and pulled her in for a hug.  When she pulled away, she had tears in her eyes. She looked back and forth at the newest addition to her family. “I am just so filled with joy!” Tears fell from her eyes and she didn’t try to hide them. “We have looked for you two for so long.” She turned and led them through the crowd holding her husband’s elbow and everyone was cheering.  Dallas herd whispers “That’s our new Luna.” And “Wow, she is beautiful.” And “I can’t wait for the party to actually meet them.”  She grew slightly uncomfortable and as if Nash could feel it he pulled his elbow and put his arm around her protectively.  This made her feel better, like she belonged.  They got to the limo and stepped into it.  The girls had never been in a limo before and in usual Jezz spirit she was in awe of it. She was a relief to have around, so fun and full of wonder.  Dallas was glad things were the way they were currently.  She never would have left Jezz behind, never. Nash held her close as the limo took off and they were facing their parents.   His mother was all smiles and his father seemed happy as well. “So, tell us about yourselves.  How were you so hard to find?  Like a well-deserved needle in the haystack.” Gloria tried to make conversation. “From the beginning?” Jezz always wanted to know that answer because it changed the story layout in a way. “Sure, the beginning.” Gloria straightened out her perfectly ironed skirt. “Okay, you asked for it.” Jezz took in a deep breath. “Our mother used a law called ‘drop and go’ where you can drop off a newborn to abandon them without question at either a hospital or police station. She dropped us off at an emergency clinic in Grand Marne in the middle of the night.  From there we stayed in foster homes in Northern Minnesota.  I think we had 20 different foster homes in all.  Most of them were pretty nice, one had a son that was a bit creepy, but he was harmless.  When we turned 18 Dallas got a job and we bought a house, so we didn’t have to move every again.  She worked her way through college, and I worked on my degree as a manicurist.  Dallas finally got her dream job with a big office and a view when Nash and Owen crashed into our lives and now, we are here.  We were not hiding we just did not know who we were.  Olson was just a name the emergency room doctor gave us on the night we were abandoned.” Jezz ended it with a little smile and Owen took her hand in his. Gloria was shocked at the story, who could possibly just abandon babies?  “Well, you have a family now and we will never ever make you move.” She looked at both women. “I know it is a sad story, but it made us into the people we are today.  Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.  If I did, I would probably lose knowing my sister as well as I do, I would possibly lose the drive I have to be more than I am.  So, I am grateful for our disadvantages because they ended up being our advantage.” Dallas interjected.  She did not like people feeling bad for her, she didn’t need their pitty.  “You are going to make a great, and I mean GREAT Luna.” Gloria said, “How lucky you are indeed to have such conviction.” Gloria was overwhelmed feeling this good fortune.  She smiled to herself pleased with the Moon Goddesses choices for her sons’. They all felt the limo come to a stop and soon the door was opening.  The bright Florida sunshine beat down on them as they got out of the limo, Dallas suddenly felt like she had way to heavy of clothing on. The building was a tall white building with rotating doors at the entrance.  Nash led the way into the lobby which was so elegant with white marble and long ivy’s with a small waterfall in the center of the room with a pack of wolves statue in the center.  He strode past the front desk with a nod and hit the elevator.  The 6 of them stood in silence waiting for the elevator.  Nash hit the top two floor buttons and the elevator promptly left for it’s designated location.  The door opened up to a lobby and beyond that a living room space with big huge windows overlooking the ocean. The furniture was white leather with grey accents, to the left was a wet bar with seating for 8 and to the right was the open kitchen with a huge dining room table big enough to fit 25 people at it. The kitchen was bigger than the girls’s entire house footprint.  Nash stepped out with Dallas and Owen stepped out with Jezz. “Welcome to our humble abode.” Owen bowed as Jazz walked past him with her eyes as big as saucers. “You guys live together?” She asked. “We tried to live separately but I got lonely.  Besides there is more than enough space here for both of us.  We were always planning our next trip or exhausting our next lead to find you.  I don’t quite know what we are going to do now that we have you.” He smiled. “We are like the dog that is constantly chasing a rabbit but never could catch it and once we caught it, we don’t know what to do with it.” Nash pulled on Dallas’s hand asking to come with him to the right, down the hallway.  She saw an office, another office, a bedroom, a library and another bedroom.  The last one was the master bedroom, he pulled her in and closed the door. He pulled her in his arms “This is your home now.  You can do whatever you want with it.  I have had the other bedroom made up for you if that is what you would like.  I do not want to be presumptuous in how fast or slow you want this go.” He kissed her gently making her want more. “The first office is mine but the second one is yours and we can put whatever you want in the library/coffee room.” He kissed her again trying to keep it gentle, but she took the lead, which surprised even her. She kissed him with passion that came from deep within as she ran her fingers up is back, she pulled away and looked at him. “I don’t know if I could sleep separate from you.  Last night was terrible filled with lustful dreams of you.” She smiled shyly not really sure why she was being so forward. “They don’t have to stay dreams My Darling.” He kissed her again pulling her in tight, she liked how she felt in his arms.  She could feel the heat between them and she then she felt herself getting aroused as memories of her dreams flickered through her mind.  The kiss began to deepen as he pushed her up against the wall and she wrapped one leg around him allowing him to feel her heat. Suddenly he pulled away from her and stood several feet from her.  She was looking at him with desire in her eyes that suddenly got overshadowed by questions. “I am sorry My Darling.  I have dreamed about you, about this moment all my life.  I had a certain sense of how I thought it would go.  I would find you at some party when the clock strikes midnight.  You would be dressed in some white gown blowing around your ankles in the night breeze.  We would see each other, lock eyes, be drawn to one another without question.” He paused for a moment and looked down, now he just felt stupid.  She smiled at him and she found it amazing that he was just as scared as she was.  In that moment she fell in love with him.  Mate bond or not she was loving him and all his gentle caring ways. She knew in her heart of hearts that he would never abandon her.  That was always her hold out, always her excuse to not get close to someone.  She stood there feeling vulnerable and knowing he was feeling vulnerable as he poured out his feelings for her. “Not everything in life can be planned.  I am learning that especially in the realm of love things never seem to go as planned.” She slowly walked up to him and touched his face.  He had broken through; she was his from this moment forward. “Nash, I am pretty sure that I love you.  It’s hard for me to know because the only person I have ever loved is my sister and you are pretty close to that.” She paused for a moment. “I am sorry that I am so naive about this subject. I am trying to go with the flow but all I want to do is kiss you and hold you.” They looked into each other’s eyes and they were reaching for each other when a knock came on the door and they heard Jezz signing outside the door. They shared a smile and Dallas answered the door. Nash’s phone rang and he looked and quickly answered it. “Nash here. Slow down, what?  Did you see anyone?  Well, pack up everything you can and bring it anyway.  Be careful.  Make sure someone is standing outside to watch while the rest of you work.” He hung up his phone and kissed Dallas on the cheek. “I have to go find my brother.” He left the room.
