Time to go

Jezz and Owen sat at the breakfast table with Dallas and Nash the next morning.  Dallas was staring at her sister and she knew it already happened.  Dallas set a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of everyone and a sliced up orange and then sat down herself.  She could barely wait to talk with Jezz.  “What do you think happened?  Do you think people are out to hurt us?  I read this book and it talks of special powers that my ancestors had.  Could people think that we possess them still?  How would anyone know our…..” Dallas stopped. “It was that stupid DNA test wasn’t it?  That’s how you found us and that’s how they would find us.” She gave Jezz the stink eye. “It is how we found you.  Your Grandmother was gracious enough to give us a sample of her DNA to help us find you.  Her DNA is under lock and key and was never put into the database.  We only wanted to find you, that was our only intension.” Nash said. “So, you guys started your own business making DNA kits in HOPES that one of us would take a test.  I think that’s what they call a long shot.” Jezz laughed. “Well, it hit the bullseye didn’t it?” Owen said “I just don’t know how anyone else…” He paused. “There must be someone on the inside, the very inside that gave out your information.  Or maybe they followed us, and we led them to you.” “No, that’s not possible because neither of us made contact before going to the bar.  I did not even know Nash existed until I woke up in the hospital.” Dallas gave Nash a shy smile thinking about last night. “Well, I think we need to go to the source of the information.  The office for Me, Myself and I and see if anything comes up.” Nash’s thoughts were interrupted by his phone ringing.  He rolled his eyes as she answered. “Hey Mom, yes we did.  No you don’t..No just wai….Mom?”  With a sigh he hung up the phone and looked over at Owen. “Mom knows we found our mates.  She wants to throw a party to introduce them to the pack.” “OOOO a party.  I love parties!” Jezz said with a big smile on her face. “Where?” Owen looked at her and grabbed her hand. “We are going to Miami, Florida.  That’s where our pack resides.” Jezz got a big smile on her face and then she looked at her sister. Dallas’s heart dropped.  She had worked so hard to get her new job.  She had finally made it and the thought of leaving it made her sad. She looked down at her food and Nash new immediately there was something wrong. He took her hand gently and she looked at him.  She had to force herself to be open with him although it was a lot easier today than yesterday. “It’s just that I have worked extremely hard to get my dream job.  I finally got the office I wanted and worked so hard for.  To just walk away, it’s like walking away from myself.” There, she said it, her job was her identity. “We own multiple multi-million-dollar businesses; in Tech, DNA and clothing.  I am sure you would be more than qualified to fill any position you would like.” Nash smiled at her. “I am not used to hand-outs.  My sister and I have fought for every little thing we have ever had.  Do you know how hard it is to move from school to school?  Do you know what it’s like to wake up in a different bed every 5 or 6 months?  We forged this life together and without help.”  Nash saw the emotion running through her body and he felt the anxiety. “I am not giving you a hand-out; I am giving you a lead.  That’s how you found this job right?  You knew someone right?” Nash waited for an answer. “I suppose you are right.  Beside it’s foolish of me to fight this anyway isn’t it?” She gave Nash a shy smile. “Darling, this is a lot to take in and I think you are doing a fantastic job of it.  It tells me that you are going to be the perfect Luna for our pack.  I can help, or not help as much as you want me to.  I want you to still feel like you.  I am just here to be part of the ride.  Okay?” Dallas nodded and Nash brought her in for a hug stopping himself from doing what he wanted. “Okay, now that Debbie Downer is on board when do we leave?  What should I bring?  How long will we be gone?” The group chuckled at Jezzabelle’s gab at her sister. “Our private jet is at the airport.  They need a 2-hour notice on departure so that is soonest we could leave.” Owen stood up from the table and was bringing his plate to the sink. “I’m sorry but did you say ‘Private Jet’?” Jezz asked. “Jezzabelle, we are billionaires.  We have multiple private jets; we have a mansion with 32 rooms on the ocean.  We play golf, we go out on our yacht. You are in for a whole new life My Love and I cannot wait to share it with you.” He finished washing the dishes and putting them in the drying rack on the counter. “Rich AND he does the dishes.  My wolf knows only the best I guess.” She smiled and sashayed her way towards him to hug him from behind and then she pulled away, patted his butt and took off to her bedroom to pack.  Jezz was focused on packing when she heard her sister “So.” Dallas was standing in her doorway. “Oh my GOD!  What is happening sister?” She pulled her in and shut the door. “Can you believe this? I always knew something was special about us but all this.  Crazy really.  I mean so I met this guy at the bar half drugged and he pulled me in with his eyes and I could just feel something trigger inside me. Then I woke up holding his hand and it felt so good.  I literally couldn’t help myself last night.  It was like I had no control.  Did you bite Nash?  Was that called marking? I forgot already but it like was not even me but it was me.  I wanted to do it.  All the way.  I never let anyone touch me like that, but I just wanted it more and more.” Jezz finally took a breath and sat on her bed, relieved to finally be alone with her sister. “I can’t lie, I have had a dream or two with Nash in it.  I thought I was dreaming when I first woke up in the hospital.” Dallas took a deep breath. “Yes, my wolf came out and marked Nash and he marked me; it tells the world that we are a pair.  I didn’t really want to push it any further than that and he did not try to push it.  I think he knows that we are different, I am not as emotional as you are. Although I think I already love him.  Such a strange feeling to love someone other than you, sister.” Dallas sat down on the bed next to her. “Hey, you are not cheating on me.  I want nothing more for you than to be happy.  All our lives you have carried this heavy burden and I want you to release it.  I want you to drop it at the doorway on the way out.  This is a whole new life for us and it’s not even taking us in different directions.  That is the best part.  They are twins too.  They share the same bond that we do.  Dallas, I love you and nothing is going to change that but please embrace this change, allow yourself happiness, you deserve it, we both do.” Dallas patted her hand that was on her arm and looked into her pleading eyes.  She was right, she needed to shed this burden of her past.  She needed to look toward the future and embrace the path that she is going down with all of her heart. “You are right, you always are.  I suppose I should go pack myself.  Although I am pretty sure I will need to buy a swimsuit.” Dallas got up and walked out of her room and made her way over to her bedroom.  She smiled at Nash as she walked by and her cheeks went flush just thinking about him.  Jezzabelle ran out the door in the brightest colored outfit she could find.  Neon orange pants with a white tshirt and a neon orange headband set off her dark features like a light bulb.  Owen was putting her suitcase in the trunk and she looked back at her sister. Dallas was standing there wearing black jeans with a grey tshirt.  She was looking back through the door with her suitcase on the ground next to her.  Nash walked up from behind and pulled her close to him and just stood there holding her.  He knew this was hard for her. She slowly turned around in his arms and looked in his eyes and without saying a word he said it all.  She took a deep breath and as she walked out the door and Nash locked it shut, she felt the burdens fall from her shoulders.  She had someone she could depend on, someone that would never ever hurt her or her sister. Nash put her suitcase in the trunk, and they all piled in the car and took off for the airport.  Not really sure if they would ever be back. They did not see the woman taking pictures of them from the house across the street.
