Nash and Brenden walked into their condo for the first time since leaving the hospital. They both were stuck wearing the hospital gowns. Someone had been in to keep the place clean. Nash walked down his hallway and entered his bedroom. He remembered the last time he was in there. They had made love in their bed. They had let their wolves have the rest of the night too. He smiled to himself and walked to his closet. He pulled out something on her side of the closet and took in all the scents that he possibly could. He walked to the bed and pulled the covers back and he could almost see her laying there looking back at him with her big brown eyes inviting him in. Her scent was stronger there. He got down on his knees taking in her scent. “Dear Goddess, please return us safely to each other. I cannot live without her.”
Brenden slowly walked down his hallway. He felt anger in his chest build up until he reached their room. Brenden had not yet met Nishiime officially, he had seen her once but that was it. The room was full of color and it calmed him. He walked up to the bed and he tried to pull at Owen’s memories, and he picked up her pillow and took a deep breath. Her scent was everything that he needed. Owen came rushing forward as he held the pillow to his face and let out a scream and hot tears came pouring out. He dropped to his knees as he remembered.
He saw Nash jump across the table screaming ‘Bomb’, it was slow motion for Owen. He began making his jump and he got almost there and then felt the blast. It was hot and strong throwing him away from Jezz. She had looked so beautiful in her hot pink dress. He was still conscious as he crawled to her, she looked like she was sleeping. He covered her with his body like he should’ve sooner and then he could not remember any more. “Oh Jezzabelle. I am so sorry My Love.”
“Hey, we need to be strong for our mates. They need us. Jezz is with Dallas in Scotland.” Nash was standing in his doorway, fully dressed. His duffel bag full of cloths for him and Dallas. He had no doubt that she was coming home with him. It could be no other way.
“She’s alive?” Owen turned and Nash saw that Brenden was gone. “How do you know that?” Owen still holding the pillow.
“Winona can reach Colton. I don’t know, they have some sort of connection. It is not always open but once in a while she gets through. The last time she said she was in Scotland and named someone Gibbe. We have to go to Wolff Tech headquarters on our way to the airport and do some cross referencing and recon before we head out. Now, pack your bag. Bring Jezz some cloths too. I don’t want our mates wearing anything that soon to be dead scumbag gave them.” Nash tossed him a navy-blue duffle bag and then pulled his phone out and started making texts.
Owen sweetly put the pillow back and covered it up. He was sore and his head really hurt, the lights hurt his eyes and sometimes he felt on the dizzy side if he turned too fast. He brushed it all off and let his wolf strength flood his body. They were going to have to be a perfect team to save their Jezzy. He pulled out all the cloths he needed but he took extra care to pick out a great outfit for Jezz. He wanted something bright and functional. He settled on hot pink top and red shorts with red and hot pink knee-high socks, he loved knee-high socks, and red converse high tops. He could just see her trotting towards him now. ‘Hey, focus buddy! We have not rescued her yet.’ Brenden interrupted his vision. Owen quickly zipped up the bag and got to the door. One more thing, he went to the side table and pulled out the small .22 handgun and stuffed it in his belt. It was small enough to tuck in pretty much anywhere.
Nash carried an empty bag and they headed to the training room. There he stuffed the bag with weapons such as knives, rope, archery, guns of all kinds and just for good measure he grabbed a huge ax. They did practice throws with it and he was good at it.
In the parking garage Nash picked with white BMW and popped the trunk, they filled the trunk up with their bags and hopped in the car. Nash easily made his way toward Wolff Tech where Dugan and his men were waiting for them.
Nash slid his badge over the lock to open the door and his and Owen walked through to the elevator. On the top floor was the meeting offices, designed to show superior views of the ocean. Nash usually took in the view but today was not that kind of day. He hit the shades and they all came down making the room dark. His men followed suit and took a seat at the large table.
“Okay, Dugan, what do we know?” Nash asked.
“I cross referenced werewolf packs in Scotland with ownership of castles. I also cross-referenced private planes being flown out of Miami going to London or Edinburgh on the night of the attack. Gloria said she was discharged from the same hospital Dallas and Jezz were brought to but never saw them even after asking for them. I also cross-referenced hospital workers with names and numbers on Nance’s phone.” Dugan turned on the computer screen on the wall and put up his findings.
“So, this Gibbe name is the packs Alpha, his full name is Gibbe Williams and his family has owned this castle since it was built in 1400. In the last 30 years he has taken control of most of the European packs with some way to force the Alpha’s to submit to him without a war. Williams has a very large net of spies throughout Europe and here in the states. Including Nance, her phone had directly contacted Gibbe hundreds of times over the past 5 years, often updating him on your whereabouts.”
Nash clenched his teeth together. “Do we know anything about this castle? How can we infiltrate it?”
Dugan pulled something the size of a large beetle out of his pock and tossed it at Nash who caught it without an issue. “This we have been working with the US government perfecting. They are the worlds smallest video and audio drones. We can fly them from here and place them anywhere in the world we want. We are going to learn the lay out of this castle with these little guys. It will also give visual feedback here so we can send in extra men if need be.” Nash set it on the table, and it came to life and started moving around the room, showings its video feed on the screen.
Nash leaned forward “Is Nance in custody now?” He needed to know, he felt she was directly responsible for his father’s death.
“Yes, Alpha. She was taken by surprise in her sleep, unable to contact anyone.”
“Good, we will deal with her later. How fast can these drones get there?”
“We will release them once we hit the tarmac at Heathrow Airport. The plane we are using is owned by one of our subsidiary companies so to we should be coming under cover to the airport. The castle is still 400 miles away from the airport however.”
“Can we find a closer airport? What about just an open field? Do we have any companies that we work with in Scotland? Would they have a private airport?” Nash was brainstorming, 400 miles is a long ways.
“Don’t we do business with Muck Lucks in the Scottish Highlands?” Owen said, Jezz loved those boots.
“We could fly into Heathrow and then take a chopper to Muck Lucks and work out of there.” Dugan was typing some stuff into his laptop. “Looks like we do have a chopper stationed at Heathrow.”
“That’s our plan then. Men, we are going to get your Luna and your Beta’s mate and kill their captors. Once we get the layout of the castle, we will have a plan. Grab your Kevlar jackets and your favorite weapons.”
Everyone was calm and orderly, just the way Nash liked it. He looked at the screen as the drone flew around the room and he smiled to himself, now he can be a fly on the wall pretty much anywhere. That was a bit dangerous really.
