Chapter 10 The Gamma and Beta

The past two months have been frustrating, with school and my upcoming wedding. Now that I am officially the luna queen. Anthony's gamma Charles become like a bodyguard to me than a gamma ever since he has taken up his position.

At first, it made me feel clustered, like I didn't have any freedom anymore. I spoke to Anthony about it, and he let's me know that now that I am queen. There will be persons out there who will want to challenge me or even try to kill me or kidnap me just to get at him. And because I am still human, that makes me a lot more vulnerable for anyone to attack me.

During the two years that I have known, Charles, I have never seen him with anyone. Until one morning when he dropped me off at school and I have meet up with my two best friends. June and Grace, who happen to be paternal twins.

"Hey Grace, June," I shouted.

"What's up girl, sorry luna," Grace replied.

"Grace, please, I am still Cathy to you and June. Not because I am the luna now. You guys are still my best friends," I said to them.

Charles pov

Luna Cathy was talking to her friends, but I wanted to tell her that one of her friends his my mate. It seems as if she has not reached eighteen as yet.

I decided to sum up the courage and tell her. "Luna, can I speak to for a minute," I said to her.

"Sure," she answered.

She steps away from her friends and asks, "What is it, Charles?"

"Your friend June is my mate, but why can't she tell that I am her mate," I said to luna.

"Because Charles, she won't be eighteen until Friday. So please be patient with her," she answered me.

When I looked at June, she was so beautiful and quite charming. I was looking for my mate for a very long time and never knew she was right under my nose all along. She just did not reach the age to find her mate.

I will have to approach her carefully and not scare her. I will wait until Saturday to make my move. I will ask Luna Cathy to set up a picnic with all of us, just to introduce myself to her.

Cathy pov

I just hope Charles does not scare my friend. I will have to try and set up a meeting with both of them.

On the way home Charles got a mind link from Clinton to pick him up from the jewel store.

"Why does Charles keep looking at me," June asked me.

"You will have to ask him yourself, " I said to her.

We have reached the mall in record time to pick up Clinton. So we all came out of the car and went straight for the jewelry store where we found him.

"Hey, luna, you're here with your friends and Charles," he shouted.

"Yes, I am here, but why do you want us to pick you up. What happened to your car," I asked him.

"Alpha drops me off because I have to pick up something for him," he answered.

While talking to him, I noticed he kept looking at Grace. "Why do you keep looking at Grace. Is she what I think she is to you?" I asked him, and he nodded his head.

"I can help you, but she is seventeen and won't be eighteen until til Friday. Can you wait because June is also Charles mate, and I will try and do a triple date on Saturday," I sy to hima and he answered yes.Why do you keep looking at Grace. Unlike Charles, who is the gamma of the pack. Clinton is the beta, and second in command.

He is the shy type when it comes to women, strick when it comes to business and vicious when it comes to a fight.

On the way from school, Clinton had mind link Charles to pick him up.

Charles pov

"Charles, I want you to pick up something for me at the jewelry store for me," said Alpha Anthony.

"Sure, Alpha," I answered.

"I will drop you there, and you can ask Chales to pick you up on his way back. The reason I am asking you is that I have to go to a meeting and I won't be back till late," Alpha says.

"Sure thing, Alpha," I answered.

O n our way to the mall Alpha asked when am I going to look for my mate.

"I know who my mate is. She just does not reach the age,"I told him.

"Who is the lucky woman then?" he asked.

"Your mates best friend, June," I told him.

"Wow, does she know?" Alpha Anthony asked.

"No. And I haven't said anything to Luna Cathy either. Because I don't know how she would react with me mated to her friend," I told him.

"Just talk to Cathy about it, and she will help you. We all know that when it comes to women, you are hopeless," Alpha teased.

While in the jewel store. I mind link Charles and tell him where I'm at to come and pick me up.

I decided to stay I the jewel store and wait on the happy gang.

While waiting, I decided to have a conversation with the store clerk just to occupy time. Just I was about to leave. I heard the chime of the bell at the door and the very swèt fragrance of my mate.

Luna Cathy came over to me and asked me why I was in the jewel store. So I told her Alpha asked me to pick up something for him.

"So where is your car?" Luna asked.

"Alpha drops me off to deal with other business," I told her.

Luna finally notices I was looking at one of her friends. That was when she asked.

"Why do you keep looking at Grace. Is she what I think she is to you?" I asked him, and he nodded his head.

"I can help you, but she is seventeen and won't be eighteen until til Friday. Saturday came quickly when you're having fun with friends and family. I have everything set with the help of Anthony. We need to get our friends together since they happen to be mates. I had to keep June and Grace away from Clinton and Charles until Saturday because I did not want to spoil the surprise for my friends. At the picnic, when my friends found out they were mated to the beta and gamma and are my female beta and gamma.
