After the dinner at the Williams mansion, they decided to go back to their apartment. Even though Emily wanted them to stay, Cassie insisted she needed to go to her parent’s house..she needed to tell them about the acceptance from the Williams family. Tho Kaden refused saying it’s late already but after many pleading from her and his mother,Kaden finally agreed.
He dropped her off at her parents’ house and promised to come pick her up the next day so they could go to school together.
Cassie waved at him as his car disappeared into the darkness of the road.
The night suddenly felt strangely quiet in her Father’s house.
Too quiet.
She turned and walked toward the house.
The moment she stepped inside the compound, an uneasy feeling crawled through her chest.
Something was wrong.
The first thing she noticed was the silence.
Her father’s cattle were nowhere to be seen. Usually, they would be making noise in the backyard.
Her heartbeat quickened.
“Mama?” she called softly.
No answer.
“Papa?”
Still nothing.
A cold chill ran down her spine.
Slowly, she walked toward the backyard.
The moment she stepped outside, the smell hit her.
Blood.
Her eyes widened.
Then she saw them.
All the cattle were lying lifeless on the ground.
Their bodies were slashed open, blood soaking the soil beneath them.
Flies buzzed loudly around the corpses.
Cassie’s body froze.
For a moment she couldn’t breathe.
Then suddenly
She screamed.
“Mama! Papa! What’s happening?!” she cried in terror as she ran back into the house.
Her heart pounded violently as she pushed the door open.
And then she saw it.
Her parents were on the ground.
Two armed men stood over them like predators watching helpless prey.
Cassie gasped.
Her mind screamed at her to run.
She turned to escape.
A deafening gunshot exploded through the air.
Pain tore through her leg as the bullet struck.
“Ughhhhh!” Cassie screamed as she collapsed violently to the ground.
Her blood quickly soaked the floor.
“Shut the f**k up, you harlot,” one of the men growled loudly.
Cassie cried in pain, clutching her bleeding leg.
“Please… please let us go,” her father begged desperately, his voice shaking with fear.
The man looked at him with pure cruelty.
Without hesitation he shot him.
The bullet pierced his head.
Blood splattered across the wall.
His body dropped lifelessly to the floor.
“Nooooo!” Cassie and her mother screamed in horror.
“Papa! Papa please wake up! Please!” Cassie cried hysterically, dragging herself across the floor toward him.
But he was gone.
The man slowly walked toward Cassie, staring down at her with disgust.
“Next time when they tell you to leave someone alone, you leave peacefully,” he said.
“You poor girl. You want to compete with the rich? Too bad your entire family is going to hell tonight.”
He crouched down beside her.
“But before that…”
A cruel smile spread across his face.
“I’m going to make sure your beauty dies first.”
He pulled out a small glass bottle.
Cassie’s heart stopped.
Acid.
Her entire body began shaking violently.
“Please forgive me!” she screamed desperately.
Her mother crawled forward, crying uncontrollably.
“I will take my daughter and leave this town!” Eliora begged. “Please help us call the senator! She is not interested anymore! We will disappear! We’ll go far away. just don’t kill us please!”
But the man only laughed darkly.
“No,” he said.
“You’re both dying tonight. In your next life you will train your daughter well to always follow someone in her league. The man said opening the bottle.
Cassie’s eyes filled with pure terror but before she could move.
The acid poured onto her face.
Cassie’s scream tore through the house like something inhuman.
AHHHHHHHHH
The liquid burned through her skin instantly.
Her flesh began to melt.
Smoke rose from her face.
“Please! Please! It burns!” she screamed, rolling violently on the floor as her skin peeled.
Her mother grabbed her, screaming in horror.
Cassandraaaaa
“Mum…” Cassie cried weakly through the pain. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry for dragging you and Papa into this…”
Tears streamed from her ruined face.
But before her mother could answer
The gunshot echoed again.
Her mother’s body jerked violently before falling lifeless beside her.
Cassie screamed again.
But another shot rang out.
The bullet struck her.
Her body went still.
Blood slowly spread beneath her.
Tears rolled silently from her destroyed eyes.
Her breathing grew weaker.
The world slowly faded into darkness.
Then finally, she closed her eyes
Silence filled the house.
One of the men wiped blood from his gun.
“So what are we doing now?” he asked casually.
“We were told to dispose of their bodies where no one will ever find them,” the other replied.
A wicked grin spread across his face.
We’ll cut them into pieces and throw them into the river for the fishes to eat.
