Chapter 3

At the Williams family mansion,Kaden and his parents,Selene,Gabrielle and Selene’s father are all present..Kaden’s voice trembled with anger.

“Mum! Dad! What do you mean I’m going to marry Selene?” he rasped, his fists clenching.

Emily Williams, his mother, stayed calm, her posture elegant but firm. “Son, your father and I only want what’s best for you. you guys are friends and you have been together for the longest time you should know each other more so that’s why we chose Selene for you. And you know her father is wealthy, just like us.”

Kaden’s jaw tightened. He looked between his parents, his heart pounding. “I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I already have a girlfriend. I was planning to introduce her at the banquet tonight… but you ruined it!”

Gabrielle, sitting in the dining room with Selene, smirked. “I hope it’s not that wretched girl you’re talking about, big bro,” she said with a smirk.

Jordan turned sharply. “Which girl?”

“Cassie Campbell,”Gabrielle said quickly, Emily stood up with a shocked face. “The maid’s daughter?I can’t believe this Kaden she said fuming with anger.

What?? Kaden is that true? Jordan Williams asked. “You will never marry that girl!”

Kaden’s anger erupted. Gabrielle what is your business?he said walking up to her and giving her a resounding slap making her fall. He strode toward the door, his mind made up. “I’m marrying her, and nobody will stop me!”

Gabrielle grabbed her cheek, shocked, while Selene stepped forward and helped her to sit.

Mr. Hughes, Selene’s father, frowned at his daughter. “Selene… you knew about their relationship, didn’t you? Because you three are friends. and you kept quiet?” Her father shouted at her

“Yes, I knew,” Selene shouted back, “but they love each other. What was I supposed to do?”

“You stupid girl!” her father scolded harshly. “Even after I told you Kaden is your future husband!”

Selene’s shoulders sagged. “I can’t come between them, Father,” she said in a struggled voice

Emily Williams shook her head in frustration, stepping toward the door. “You will come between them! At this point, you will marry Kaden and it’s final she said firmly before leaving the room.

Gabrielle gave her a triumph smile.

Cassie sat on her bed, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her parents, Eliora and Peter Campbell, tried to comfort her, holding her hands and rubbing her back.

“I told you… these people are too rich to mingle with us, but you let love blind you to the point of falling deeply in love with kaden” her mother said gently, her voice filled with worry.

Peter shook his head. “Hey, sweetheart… now is not the right time to say that.”

Cassie wiped her tears, her eyes red but determined. “Mom, Dad… don’t argue. Don’t worry about it. I know my Kaden. He can’t leave me even if his parents want someone else for him. They just don’t know we’re together. I’ll go to his place. I need to see him. I left the banquet with anger the other time.. I need to hear him out Cassie said rushing her words at once.

What do you mean you’re going to see him? Didn’t you hear the announcement his father made today.her mother asked her voice raising slightly.

I know mama but i can’t leave him.i love him too much. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine. She said standing up leaving her parent in the room going to the bathroom.

Her mother’s face fell. “I just hope she doesn’t get hurt,” Eliora whispered.

“Me too,” Peter said, holding his wife’s hand gently.
