Chapter 6

One week later… The Williams family mansion was unusually quiet that evening. But inside the large living room, Emily Williams could not stay still. She paced back and forth across the marble floor, her high heels clicking sharply with every step. Her face was filled with frustration and worry. “Jordan!” she snapped suddenly. Her husband, Jordan Williams, sat comfortably on the large leather sofa, calmly reading a document as if nothing was wrong. “Jordan, is this how you’re going to sit there and watch Kaden slip out of our hands because of a girl?” Her voice was full of anger and panic. Jordan slowly lowered the papers in his hands and looked at her. Emily continued pacing nervously. “He refuses to answer our calls,” she said bitterly. “He refuses to come home. And now he’s even threatening to disown us if we don’t accept that girl!” Her voice cracked with emotion. “I don’t want to lose my son,” she said, her eyes filling with tears. Jordan leaned back slightly and sighed. “I’m worried too,” he admitted calmly. Emily stopped pacing and looked at him. “But that girl…” Jordan continued slowly, “will never marry my son.” Emily frowned. “Then why are you sitting here doing nothing?” she demanded. A small smile appeared on Jordan’s face. “I never said I was doing nothing,” he replied. Emily stared at him in confusion. “I have a plan.” She crossed her arms impatiently. “Well? What is it?” Jordan leaned forward slightly. “Text Kaden,” he said calmly. Emily blinked. “What?” “Send him a message,” Jordan repeated. “Tell him we have accepted Cassie.” Emily stared at him as if he had gone mad. What? “That is not happening!” she snapped immediately. Jordan raised his hand calmly. Relax, Emily. No! Emily shouted angrily. “I will never accept that girl! She is the daughter of a maid! Jordan shook his head slowly. You are thinking emotionally, he said. Emily glared at him. Then explain your so-called plan. Jordan stood up and walked slowly toward her. “For our son to trust us again,” he said quietly, “we must pretend to accept her.” Emily’s eyes widened slightly. “Pretend?” “Yes.” Jordan’s smile slowly grew darker. “We will welcome her. Treat her kindly. Make her feel comfortable in our home.” Emily stared at him carefully. “And then?” Jordan’s eyes turned cold. “And then we destroy her.” Emily’s lips slowly curved into a wicked smile. “I like the sound of that.” Jordan continued speaking. “Right now, Kaden is protecting her because he believes we hate her.” Emily nodded. “That’s true.” “But if we suddenly accept her…” Jordan continued, “his guard will drop.” Emily began to understand. “So she will trust us.” “Exactly,” Jordan said. He leaned closer. “And once she trusts us… we can remove her from Kaden’s life forever.” Emily laughed softly Emily walked toward the sofa and sat down slowly, thinking carefully. “You’re sure this will work?” she asked. Jordan nodded confidently. “Trust me. “No problem, darling. I trust you.” She picked up her phone immediately. “If pretending to like that girl will bring my son back to me… “Then I will do it. Her husband smiled at her nodding his head. Mr Williams took his phone and texted someone.. I have a work for you, see me in my office tomorrow…
