“What was the meaning of that nonsense you performed today Kaden??” His mother’s voice rang sharply through the room, filled with anger and disbelief. She folded her arms tightly across her chest, her heels clicking against the floor as she paced around restlessly. His father, Selene’s father, Gabrielle and Selene were all present in the room with him.
“You almost ruined your own wedding today just because of your obsessive self over a girl that did not even care about your own feelings. She dumped you for another man, Kaden.” Her eyes burned with frustration as she glared at him. “What did we ever do to you to deserve the kind of treatment you’re giving us?”
The room fell into a heavy silence for a brief moment, but she wasn’t done.
“If not because of your father’s influence and how he was able to shut the press off, the news about you running after another woman on your wedding day would have been a hot gist in the country right now…”
Her words hung in the air like a threat, sharp and humiliating.
Jordan William stood up quietly from where he sat, his face unreadable. Without saying a single word, he adjusted his suit and walked out of the room, his silence speaking louder than any anger.
“Talk to your son, Emily. I’m tired of his nonsense every day. He’s hurting my daughter.” Selene’s father said, his tone filled with disappointment and irritation. “They are now married and he should start acting like a married man and stop chasing after a nuisance.”
He shot Kaden one last look before also leaving the room, the door closing behind him with a firm sound.
The tension in the room thickened.
“I don’t understand you, bro. Where did you see that girl?” Gabrielle said, stepping forward slightly, her brows furrowed, her own mind clearly troubled by everything that had just happened.
“I saw her with my own two eyes. I truly saw her… she came to the wedding,” Kaden said, his voice low but firm, as if trying to convince not just them—but himself.
Selene stood up from where she sat, crying her eyes out. Her shoulders trembled, and her makeup had already begun to smear.
“You’re just hallucinating, Kaden… Cassie is gone. She left you for another man…” her voice broke as she spoke. “That’s how you mistook me for her and forcefully slept with me and got me pregnant.
The room went still at her confession.
“You’re now married to me… you’re a married man,A soon to be father. Try to move on from her… you’re hurting me and our child.. Selene said, holding his hand tightly, wiping her eyes with the back of her other hand.
Kaden’s eyes softened a little bit as he stared into space, lost in his own thoughts.
But he really saw her…
That face… that presence… it couldn’t be a mistake.
Why did she come?
The question echoed endlessly in his mind.
He drew Selene closer and hugged her slowly, almost mechanically.
Selene wiped her tears and hugged him back tightly, but her eyes shifted slightly staring at Gabrielle, who smiled at her in reassurance.
Emily also smiled, staring at the couple affectionately, as if trying to convince herself that everything was finally falling into place.

When Cassie got back home with Matteo, the atmosphere around her was cold and distant. Immediately they got home, she locked herself up in her new room without saying a word.
The sound of the door shutting echoed like a final barrier between her and the world.
She had been moody all day because of the scene she saw at the wedding party…
So he’s really getting married.
The thought replayed in her mind like a painful echo.
He did not even wait for her…
Her chest tightened painfully.
What kind of lies is he fed with… or is he in plan with his parent?
She smiled darkly, a dangerous glint flashing through her eyes, and rubbed her stomach gently…
She was told by Alice that she’s two months pregnant, and she cannot bring herself to terminate it because of the sin of her baby’s father…
Kaden and Selene will regret this, she said, muttering to herself, her voice low but filled with venom.
Her fingers clenched tightly.
“I will make sure I take his bloody parent down and ruin his stupid marriage…”
Her breathing grew heavier as anger consumed her.
“I will break him and render him useless… unless I’m no longer Cassandra Campbell,” she vowed, her eyes burning with determination and pain.
From the door, Alice was seen standing quietly, eavesdropping on her…
A slow, dark smile spread across Alice’s lips.
Her eyes gleamed with something dangerous… something calculated.
Alice smiled darkly.
“Now let’s make the game begin.”
