Her revenge Chapter 11 Few days later, Selene and Kaden set out for their vacation in the Philippines. Kaden stood by the car, wearing his sunglasses, which somehow made him look even hotter. He didn’t speak to anyone, but he had agreed to go on the vacation. Selene stood beside him, feeling nervous, her hands fidgeting with the straps of her bag. Emily held her hand firmly. “Selene, I trust you. That’s why I’m putting him in your care. Help me take care of him—let him forget everything about that girl,” she said, gnashing her teeth angrily. “I understand, ma’am,” Selene replied, her voice soft but determined. “You don’t have to feel guilty, Selene. You’re not doing anything bad. The bad person here is the stupid girl who cheated on my son,” Emily added, her eyes flashing with anger. “I fully understand, ma’am, and I promise I will take care of Kaden,” Selene said, giving a cute smile that she hoped would reassure Emily. “Let’s go, Kaden,” Selene said, turning toward him. He took his bag without looking at her. “Bye, take care of yourselves,” everyone greeted them, waving their final goodbyes. Selene forced a small smile, trying not to let her nerves show. About fourteen hours later, they arrived in Manila, Philippines. They stepped out of the plane, stretching their legs and blinking against the bright sunlight. The driver assigned to them met them at the airport and waved. “Hello, sir, hello, ma’am. I’m John, your personal driver for your stay in Manila,” he said politely. “Oh, thank you,” Selene said as he collected their luggage and led them to the car. The journey was smooth and quiet. Selene tried to make conversation a few times, commenting on the beauty of the city, the buildings, the streets but Kaden remained silent, his gaze fixed out of the window. Even though she tried, every attempt at conversation was met with indifference, leaving Selene feeling a mixture of frustration and curiosity. They soon arrived at their rented furnished apartment. It was modern, spacious, and immaculately decorated. Selene tried to settle in quickly, arranging her things while Kaden carried his bag silently. Every corner of the apartment spoke of luxury the plush sofa in the living room, the sparkling kitchen, and the large bedroom with a king-sized bed. Selene tried all her possible best to make conversation with Kaden, asking about his day, commenting on the city lights, and even joking lightly, but she was met with silence each time. Kaden seemed content to ignore her, his expression unreadable, his energy quiet but intense. That night, Selene sat on the big bed, feeling a knot of nerves in her stomach. She wondered how they were going to sleep since it was just one bedroom. She knew Emily had done it intentionally forcing them to spend time together. Her thoughts swirled as she tried to imagine the night ahead, her mind racing with both excitement and anxiety. The bathroom door opened, and Kaden emerged. He was literally half-naked, a towel tied low on his waist, and his abs were impressively toned. Selene almost drooled, her eyes involuntarily tracing the lines of his chest and the strength in his arms. Her pulse quickened, and her cheeks flushed at the sight. “Are you not bathing?” he asked, his voice low, sharp, breaking her daze. “E-em… of course I am,” she stammered, her voice catching in her throat.she tried to look somewhere else, but her gaze keeps flicking back to him. This is the man she have also loved for several years now she knew she have always love him even before he knew Cassie but he never looked her way. She was still thinking when she heard a voice “I will sleep in the living room.” Selene heard Kaden say those words suddenly. She looked up immediately, slightly surprised. Just a few minutes ago he had walked out of the bathroom half-naked, but now he was already dressed in his dark pajamas. His hair was still a little wet, and a few drops of water slowly rolled down the side of his face making him look more hotter. In his hand, he was already holding a pillow and a thick white duvet. Selene blinked in confusion. “Why?” she asked quickly, sitting up on the bed. Her voice carried a mixture of surprise and disbelief. “This place is big enough for both of us.” She looked around the spacious bedroom as if trying to prove her point. The bed was large, big enough for three people even. The room itself was comfortable and luxurious, with soft yellow lights glowing gently from the walls and a large window showing the beautiful night view of Manila. “There’s enough space here,” she repeated calmly. Kaden slowly turned his head toward her. His expression was cold. The softness that had appeared earlier was completely gone. His dark eyes looked sharp and distant again, like someone who had already built a strong wall around his heart. “Selene,” he said slowly. His voice was low and strained, almost like he was holding back anger. “I don’t know what you and my mother are planning.” Selene froze slightly. But let me give you a piece of advice,” he continued, tightening his grip on the pillow in his hand. “It won’t work. I can never love you. The room suddenly felt colder.
