Kylie POV
My whole body, heart, and soul is so full of love and light, I can't believe we have finally got a home, OUR HOME.
My mind was blown away seeing our homes being built with magic, I didn't even know that was a thing. Something so wonderful was possible, and I can't express my gratitude to Melvin, Gill, and their people for helping us.
I felt awful that our people would have to get to work as soon as we arrived and I know they said they wanted to but they needed rest and feeding up before working it's just that we didn't have a choice.
In an ideal world, we would have returned, and all would have been ok with the clan, but that wasn't our reality.
The only good thing about having to rebuild our whole clan homes is that everyone has a fresh start. To finally be happy.
Don't get me wrong, I know a new home doesn't automatically mean they are all healed, but having a home is a good step in the right direction to hopefully start healing from past trauma.
We are currently heading to neautral ground. It's called The Sanctuary. From what Gill explained, it's a market of all species. They sell furniture, home remedies, herbs, and just about anything you can think of, well all species except vampires, because Achlys ruled with an iron fist, keeping complete control over the entire kingdom.
We were in a group looking for everything we needed. Me, Gill, and nancy were chatting and laughing as the few other women and children looked around in awe. The market was lovely, full of colours and smells amazing. The fabrics and foods are everywhere.
The whole place is amazing. Each stall is different, but the thing they all have in common was their smiles, and it was great to witness.
Freddy, Melvin, and the others are finishing off at the house ready for our return while Lilley and Layla slept. What they did truly was truly amazing, I love how caring they are, but I did worry when they fell to sleep, but Gill assured me that it was a normal process of using excessive magic.
I walk to a stall that has a variety of all different colours and fabrics draped everywhere. The woman was a fairy smiling brightly at us. Since I became one with Janey, it's so much easier to tell one species from another with their scent. Fairies smell like wild flowers with a tiny hint of spice.
"Hi, your majesty. How can I help today?" she asked with a wide happy smile "hi Dione, this is Queen Kylie and we are looking for lots of different fabrics" Gill replied running her fingers across a soft looking Green fabric "well you have come to the right place" she replied with a giggle making me smile "hi we are revamping our homes, we need bedding and curtains for 200 bedrooms, also curtains for our dining room which has big floor to ceiling windows and also for our living room with the same windows" I ask excitedly "wow.. Let's start with the dining room and living room. Have you got in mind colours and fabrics? " she asks, and I nod. We had all sat down with ideas for all of that and wrote a list.
"I was thinking a thicker fabric for the room, in red with matching cushions for the settees. The dining room a light airy fabric in green" I say feeling and looking at all the lovely fabrics surrounding me "ok no problem, do you have measurements" she asks writing down everything I said in a book and I pass over the measurements that are wrote down.
"Ok, great. I think these would work great. I have this one" she said grabbing a thick red fabric with a flower pattern on it "or this one" she said grabbing another, it's still a lovely fabric, red but plain and I already loved the first one. "This one is perfect," I say, holding onto the first fabric.
"Great," she says, writing it down. "I love this one for the dining room," I say, going to the thin, sheer fabric in a forest green. It would look great in the dining room. She smiled and wrote that down, too.
"Ok, onto the harder task, do you have any measurements and colours in mind for the bedrooms?" This is where it gets trickier. "The good thing is that the windows are all the same measurements, 17 want blue. 16 want yellow. 21 want green. 30 want beige. 8 want white. 47 want burgundy. 40 want grey and 21 are happy with any colour. We want to keep the quilt and pillow covers cream and then throws and cushions matching the curtains." I wait while she finishes writing it down.
"Our floor we want creams and reds for our living room with matching cushions. Our bedroom we want green with matching throw and cushions. We also want pink in the 2nd bedroom with 2 sets of throws and cushions," I explain while passing more measurements over with an excited smile "ok that's no problem at all. I've got them all written down and will get to work on them tonight," she replied, matching my smile. It impressed me how optimistic she was about our order, I thought it would be a lot, but she never showed it. "Thankyou so much, I know it's a lot" I say full of gratitude "it's no problem at all, our kingdom will work as one so it should be done in no time" and I feel loads better knowing she has help "and this is Nancy, she is in charge of getting furnishings for the houses" Gill introduced Nancy as I carried on looking "hi, we have 100 houses" Nancy started explaining. She was so quiet I was worried Dione wouldn't hear her "Kylie.. KYLIE.." I turned to see who was shouting me when I saw Zoene running at me. I'm so happy to see her as I run towards her also, throwing my arms around her. "What are you doing here?" I asked, clinging onto her. "we're here to help Dione. What are you doing here?" she explained. "Oh my goddess Francis," I let go of Zoene and threw myself at him. I'll forever be in their debt and hold their friendship dearly. "Hi Ky, how are you?" he chuckles at me. "we are here to get furnishings," was all I said before dragging them by the hands to the others where they all were introduced.
I spent some time catching up with the pair before we had to move along, but Zoene promised to come to our kingdom to make the delivery of the goods we had purchased from them.
Today truly is a great day.
We made our way around the rest of the market, loving every bit of it.
I could see how weary the women and kids were, but they soon relaxed as everybody we met were lovely.
We had ordered our furniture and also we had managed to order 10 great solid wood tables for the dining room. We had got everything and it would all be delivered over the next few days.
We were just leaving when I spotted a food stall. Well, it looked more like a desert stall.
"Oohhh, let's get everyone treats." I jumped up and down, clapping my hands like a child, but I didn't care.
In the end, we got everything on our lists and was going home with armfuls of sweet treats.
I can't wait to take them back for everyone to enjoy.
I've had the best day spent talking and laughing, but I'm missing Freddy and ready to go home.
