Third person POV The clinic is great, Dr Rodgers, Carl, and Cal are ready to start running a proper clinic where everyone is welcome and will be treated with respect and compassion. Grant, who is known as Dr. Rodgers is a great man full of compassion and loves helping his fellow clan members. He learned everything he could from his father when King Silas was on the throne. King Silus was Achlys father. Unfortunately, they were worlds apart and complete opposites. Silas grew his kingdom with a fair and loyal hand, and Achlys tore it all down to make himself feel like he was in charge. Grant always wanted to be a Dr, learning everything he could up until Achlys took over the kingdom and destroyed it. Grants parents were some of the firsts to be killed as Achlys was getting rid of his fathers loyal followers. Grant was devastated but didn't fight back for the fear he held onto for his newly found mate, Victoria. They made the best life they could, Grant treated the ill in secret, and Victoria would help him. They did the best they could with the whole situation that Achlys had put them in. They had been together for many years when Victoria found out she was pregnant. They were overjoyed and looking forward to being parents. They were also worried because it wasn't an environment they would choose to bring a child into, but there was no choice, and they had to make the best they could. Even though life was hell in the clan, the pregnancy was going well. Victoria spent hours quietly gathering what she could for her baby. She knew if Achlys caught her, she would be in trouble, and she didn't want to risk it. She was lucky that their fellow clan members helped out loads, giving them clothes and a crib. The time came, and Victoria went into labour. She had to fight everything in her to stay quiet through every contraction. With a few women of the clan and also Grant by her side, she was doing good. That was the day Grants whole life drastically and heartbreakingly changed. Victoria had Carl, but as she had snuggled with her newborn son, it became apparent that it was far from over. Before long, she had given birth to Callum. She was so happy to have them both, even though having 2 was unexpected she loved them both so much. She cherished her family and was overjoyed to welcome her sons into this world. Unfortunately, the day that was one of the happiest had also become the saddest day. The day she gave life to her sons and heirs to her mate was the day she drew her last breath. She had complications after giving birth and was bleeding heavily. Grant was trying to stop it but he had no supplies to help her, he was their only doctor and he couldn't do a thing to save his own sweet and loving mate, he bit into his wrist to give her his blood hoping that would help, vampires heal quicker with blood but the more he gave the more she bled. She also knew that she was running out of time, she knew that if Achlys found out she was dying he would just kill her, they all knew she could be saved with proper help but there was no way to get it. So, to give her the little time she had left with her family, she made Grant promise not to leave. He was devastated, but he wanted to make her happy, so he stayed. She kissed and held her babies and her mate savouring all she could. She made him promise to keep her babies safe, to bring them up surrounded by love and to be good, kind and caring men, to not forget her and to keep being a doctor to heal their friends and family. She told him she loved her life with him, and she loved him in this life and the next. She died listening to him, telling her she was his one and only love. As the years went by, his boys grew and learned how to care and heal people. Now, they are a credit to their parents with families of their own. They were in their element learning to use the new monitors. Grant was ready to retire. He was tired and was ready to leave and see his long missed mate, reuniting with her in the afterlife. He knew he wasn't going to live much longer, as his sons and their clan needed him, and he promised Victoria he would be there for them, but now he can finally rest. He finally felt at peace, a peace he hadnt felt for over 100years, and he knew now that Freddy was King, he wasn't needed, and they would all be safe. He excused himself while they were helping lottie and went to sit in a chair in the waiting room. He smiled and closed his eyes, thinking of his Victoria. His beautiful mate smiling, her eyes twinkling with happiness and her fiery red hair gleaming in sunlight. He wanted to finally be reunited with his mate, his love. "I've missed you so much, my sweet Victoria." was his last words spoken. That's how his sons found him sometime later, passed away, sat in a chair, and smiling. They were not sad though because they had known for years that their father longed to go to their mother, they were a little sad that they wouldn't have his love and guidance anymore but happy he's finally free and at peace. His ceremony would be held in a few days.
