We have got everything set up, furniture is in all of the rooms, they are all finished and the whole place looks amazing. It's so light and breathable, not just the whole place but me too. There is no trace at off of Achlys and his dickhead scumbag followers.

It's a completely fresh start, one that we all need but now next on the list is helping our clan members find any family they might have out there and also help for anyone who needs it in reguards to working through their physical, mental and emotional trauma. We need to do what we can for them, they all deserve it and we need to unpick all the years of shittyness and put us all back together to be the best and happiest versions of ourselves, we can finally be our individual selves not just vampires.

Now is when the hard work starts.

We also held a proper ceremony for Dr. Rodgers, one that he deserved. It's a sad time for everyone because he was so well loved in the clan, but his sons said he was ready to be reunited with his mate, so he's in a better place.

He spent his life taking care of the clan even when he had nothing to help him, he found a way, he was loyal to us all up until the very end and I'll be forever grateful for that.

His sons are now the official Drs of our clan, and if I'm being honest, they are great. They have learnt from the best, and I know they will do their father and our clan proud.

Everything is starting to run smooth, clan members are gathering their strength especially since I gave out the stash of blood we found, luckily it all had the Sanctuary mark on them so we knew it was all bought legally. I would have burnt any that had no mark because we had no idea if it was detained forcibly.

We may be vampires, but we are not blood sucking monsters.

We have held a few clan meetings and have been given jobs to the ones that want to help, mostly tending to the gardens, cooking and cleaning we are in the process of also getting training set up for our warriors. We have given everyone choices because that's the best way to get everything running smooth.

I'm currently on the way to meet Melvin and Gill as they are travelling back to our clan to talk about Lilley and Layla, it has been a week since they left but they rang yesterday asking to come see the girls as they were missing them.

Me and Kylie spent yesterday with Lilley and Layla so we could speak to them about their thoughts and feelings about everything.

They were holding back a little, trying not to upset me, and I felt so bad. My attitude and behaviour towards the royals from our very first meeting has made them aware of hiding how they feel and that is never how I'd want them to be but I know now getting to know Melvin and Gill that my destiny is that of a big brother not a parent.

Kylie has gone to pick the girls up from the school, I'm still flabbergasted every time I think of the school.

It's not up and running yet, obviously, but they are running a creche of sorts there for the time being while the adults help get the clan on It's feet.

I run to the gates expecting the Royals at any time. I get there and the patrol are swapping shifts, they are still getting used to this but I know they need a lot of training especially since Achlys only seen fit to keep training to a minimum causing them all to self doubt but I have full faith in them.

I can hear their arrival before anyone else as they talk in the car coming our way.

'The girls are so excited, sexy,' Kylies gorgeous voice enters my head, making me smile.

'I bet they are love, they are almost here' And I can feel her happiness and sadness rolled into one 'ok we are heading to the office and we'll grab some drinks and snacks on our way' she replied 'ok love, see you soon' I say and cut the link.

I lift my eyes to the approaching tyres. "Open the gates and close them as soon as the cars are clear," I say, looking around my men as they all agree. They open the gates as the car gets closer, and I run back to the house.

Im stood waiting for them as people are bustling around me, they were still nervous and some wouldn't even look at me but I know it's going to be a long and hard journey to get to a point that everyone lives in a clan that they feel safe and happy in.

I smile as the cars come to a stop, and Melvin steps out before opening Gills door.

"I hope your journey was good, welcome back" and they both smile, Melvin shook my hand and Gill hugged me "it was fine no problems at all" Melvin answered "how are you all? we've missed the girls so much, are they ok? do they know we are coming? have they eaten?" Gill was firing questions at me so fast I didn't get chance to reply to any of her questions "love I'm sure all is well, give the poor guy a chance" Melvin chuckled and Gill lightly elbowed him and laughed "sorry Freddy" she said slightly embarrassed "no it's ok" I laughed " our girls are waiting in the office, they know you're coming because we spoke with them last night" I smiled, I'm sure this is for the best.

We walk and talk to the office. It's so strange how our relationship changed in the blink of an eye, I know it was fate that brought us together.

As soon as we walked in, Lilley and Layla both ran and hugged Melvin and Gill, and it's the first time that everyone was genuinely happy about this whole situation.

"There's a few things we would like to discuss." I can see the uncertainty with a hint of sadness in their eyes as soon as I say the words.

"Ok, can I just ask if it's possible that we spend some time with the girls, please, before we leave again?" and I know why they are expecting the worse with how I've acted in the past "that's one of the things we want to talk to you about actually" but before I can say anything else Gill has tears streaming down her face, I can feel her heartbreak "please, please don't stop us seeing them" she really is worried but both girls stand from where they are sitting and walk to Gill, wiping her tears with their small hands "don't cry" they say softly "we would never do that" Kylie says horrified and now Gill is hugging both girls.

"I haven't made myself clear, and I know I came across as a jerk from our very first meeting, but I'd never do that to the girls or you. I acted the way I did because I've been the only one to be there for the girls since Cara died but now I understand why and I know that isn't an excuse" "we understand and you don't have to explain" Melvin says looking at his mate clinging to the girls "I did need to explain but we spoke it through with the girls and we have agreed on a solution and maybe you would" I say as Kylie holds my hand tight, she knows this is what was supposed to happen as much as I do but that doesn't mean it isn't hard "what is it?" Melvin is now intrigued "I now know that my role is that of a big brother but what they need is loving parents too, if you would agree the girls feel that connection with you both, the only condi-" "wait what?.. I don't understand" Gill cuts me off. I stand and pace slightly "they would love to be a family with you but I need to know I'll still be included in their life, I'm their brother and this is also their clan but I know th-" "oh my goddess" Gill cries and cuts me off this time with a hug "of course and you're also our family" she says crying before throwing herself in her mates arms both happy. "Is it a yes?" Layla asks, looking unsure, I know the girls were a little worried they might say no. "Of course darling," Melvin laughed, and the girls ran to them, hugging them both so tight. I had to turn round as my eyes started streaming with tears but I didn't want them to see I felt Kylies arms circle my waist, she knew how hard this was for me "they will be fine love" came her soft words. I could also feel her tears wet my top. We stood there for a while until small arms held onto us "don't be sad" Lilley said snapping me out of it "I'm not sad I'm so happy for you two little monkeys, I'm going to miss you so much but I'm only a phone call away or car ride ok" I said now on my knees looking at my sweet beautiful sisters. They need this, and I'm happy that they have more than just me.

"And a mirror," they giggled "yes and that," I laughed along with them.

"We will take such good care of them, keep them safe and we already love them like they were ours from the start" Gill says hugging me then Kylie "we know that already" Kylie smiled.

"I don't want to push our luck but when are we talking about, today, next week, next month" Gill was talking so fast and was definitely excited "Kylie and the girls have already packed their few bits just incase you said yes" I explained with a smile pointing to their packed bags next to my desk "of course" Gill laughed.

We spent some time together talking about everything and anything, and it was great, I could see an amazing life the girls would have.

"The other issue we wanted to discuss with you was the young witches that are here. Some want to reconnect with some of their families at your kingdom. Could we possibly work on that together? " Kylie asks, and it's because this is what she has asked to help with. She has spent time with the youngsters, getting them to open up to her.

"Of course, I'll help you personally," Gill offered, and they were now talking business.

I can't wait until we can be a stable clan and all those sold to Achlys to be free and happy, but I know it will happen one day.

I feel honoured to be their leader and to think all I wanted to do was escape. I feel terrible for even having that thought as it was our people that desperately needed help, and I'll always carry that guilt with me.
