Trespassers

Freddy POV

I'm going to be a daddy, my beautiful mate has made me the happiest I've ever felt.

It shouldn't be a massive shock because we have been trying. The biggest shock was how far along she was and knowing straight away that we're having a boy.

After all the years of loneliness and sadness, I'm finally where I should be. I honestly thought I'd be mateless with me being a hybrid and I'm beyond blown away to have an amazing mate who is filled with love and kindness showering all around her with her light, showing it's possible to be good. She has shown me that I'm worthy of love, and now we get to expand our family. I knew our baby would be surrounded by love and happiness, but most of all, he would be brought up in his mothers light.

Seeing Kylie pass out was the most scared I've ever been but knowing it's because she is carrying our child fills me with joy, to know her "illness" isn't anything we can't fix. Plenty of food and drink will make her better, stronger, I mean, I do feel shitty for not taking her to the Dr sooner, but I'm trying not to dwell on that.

I'm pissed that I've been called away from her, especially as we have just found out our good news, we've had no time to process or talk.

There have been Rogue vamps near our territory, and I needed to investigate it's something that couldn't wait, and I specifically said to let me know straight away of anyone crossing our borders. We are just getting on our feet and have started border patrol to keep our kingdom safe. It's not a massive kingdom, but it's ours, and I will destroy anybody that threatens it.

Leaving her with Nancy put me at ease a little bit, and I know they are the best of friends, so she will enjoy it.

I also know that Megan will be going to see Kylie after school as she always does. She is Kylies mini me, always wanting to be in her presence. Megan has settled in brilliantly also, plus Kylie and Gill have worked together and have tracked down Megans grandparents, who were shocked and thrilled to find out about her. She has been travelling to spend time with them.

Everything has gone brilliantly since we have taken over.

I'm running to the west border to where the Rogue vamps were spotted. I came to a stop where Clive was waiting for me. "Hey, where abouts?" I asked, looking around us. "Just over there at the border, there were 2 of them. We spotted them as they crossed over the border, and they were looking for something, but when they saw us, they fled.

"Ok, I'll have a look around. Stay at your post," I say. Now, walking towards their scent, it's not a normal Rogue Vamps scent. They smell slightly off, I'm not sure how to describe it, but Rogues usually smell like stale blood and decaying flesh.

I follow the trail until I start getting linked again 'sir we have spotted 2 Rogue vamps at the south border' 'ok I'm on my way' that is the trail I'm already on, I get to Steve who linked me and they had already left "what happened?" I asked "we spotted 2 Rogue vamps cross over the border they were looking around before seeing us and then fled" same as the west it can't be a coincidence "ok I'll carry on their trail" "ok sir" he replied and I was off again, there has to be something more to this 'sir we have-' Polly linked me before I cut her off 'let me guess, 2 Rogues vamps over our border' 'yes sir' 'ok stay at your post I'll investigate further' I decide to go straight to the north border, cutting through our territory and see if I can head them off. I use my full speed, and I'm there in a few minutes. I come to a stop in front of scott, he looks a little shocked but soon recovers "has there been any sightings at all, anything out the ordinary" but he shakes his head "no sir" but just as he said that I could smell them. They were close.

Just then, two male vamps entered our land, and Blaze is pissed just like me 'Something is off.' he growled out, and we were off, scott on our heels. They spotted us and fled, but we needed answers. I picked up my speed and caught the younger one. He was hissing and trying to get away, but I held on.

The older vamp stopped when he realised we had got his companion.

He ran back with what looked like fear in his eyes. "Please. He's just a boy. We meant no harm," he tried to explain, but it wasn't enough. I had the young one by the neck and applied a little more pressure. "Why do you keep crossing onto our land?" I ask, cool and collected even though I'm anything but. I hate that I have to do this, but my people come first.

"We apologise, we were looking for someone please," the man begged. He was maybe 5'7", brown hair and thin looking, definitely unkept.

"Dad.. ple please," the boy squeezed out. He also looked like his dad but thin. I let go of him, and he dropped and ran to his dad, who hugged him and then pushed the boy behind him. "You have passed on each side of my territory. Who are you? Who are you looking for? and who sent you?" I ask still not fully believing them "please, we were hoping to find my mate and daughter" but his explanation made me frown, why would he be searching here for them "what makes you think they would be here" he takes a deep breath "we fled our home, we are from a small clan to the west, we fled and was being chased, I sent them this way because we had heard the new King and Queen were different, they were fair and helped those that need it. We were fleeing to a safe place but we could not find them. Me and Ace led them away so my girls could make it." he looked worn out and defeated.

"Ok, we have to be cautious when it comes to trespassers. I'm King Freddy." I introduce myself, and I'm still getting used to the title.

They both dropped to their knee with their hand over their hearts.

"Please, your majesty. We meant no harm. Please have mercy" the dad said with them both shaking "stand please, Scott go back to your post, we will be fine from here" I say as they both stand "yes sir" and he was gone.

'If you're not busy, could you get some spare clothes, a man who is around 5'7" with slim build and a boy of maybe 16 years old slim build and also some food and blood. I will meet you in my office' I link Charlotte as I take in their state. "So if they were fleeing from the west, we shall search there. Could you not catch their scents" I ask as they both look at me in surprise "Thankyou so much my King, they fled this way as we led the men east, we can't scent them because I gave Kadie a scent hiding potion" I gave a nod and we picked up our speed. We arrived at the west border.

"Clive, have there been any other people crossing our border at all?" I ask hoping he says yes but he shakes his head "no sir, we have been patrolling but no one has passed and we haven't picked any other scents up" I give him a nod and he carries on his duties.

"Give me a second, stay silent," I instruct them as I listen and smell. Me and Blaze have astonishing senses. We smell and hear quite far out if we concentrate I hear my mens hearts slow and steady, I block those out, I can hear all the animals and bugs around us I block those out too and there.. that's what I'm looking for. 2 high-speed heartbeats. The blood rushing through their bodies, the sweat dripping off them along with tears "this way," I say, walking to our left. After walking about 10 minutes, we are close. I hear a gasp and then silent sobs. "Hello.. are you ok? " I ask, but they stayed silent. I look back at the dad and point up a massive tree, giving him a nod. "KADIE.. MY SWEET LOVE," he shouted, and just like that, she dropped from the tree. Cautiously watching my every move, she runs into his arms crying, "Where is Cleo? Is she ok? " He panics "CLEO IT'S OK," her mum shouts, and a second person drops from the tree. Running to them, hugging them all.
