Shads Of Fae Rise of the Dragon

Chapter 4

    Dante's POV

    I can't believe she just announced that she is my girlfriend to all of my friends. I have told my friends that Jessica and I are just f**k buddies. She knows what I like and there for I do not have to tell her what to do every time, and I can be as rough with her as I want. I am doing everything in my power to keep my lips sealed to keep the growling from Storm from passing them.

I really don't know what she was thinking, by no means have I ever given her the idea that we were in a relationship. Yes I care for her, but I am not in love with her. I would be just fine if I didn't see her again, and that right there tells me that there is no romantic feelings for her.

While I am in my own head, I didn't hear Max come up beside me. He slapped me on the shoulder and said,"Wow she is fine as hell man, how did you land that one," with laughter in his voice. I turn to him and tell him in hushed tones so no one can hear me, I don't want to start a fight with the guys here and the last time I will probably ever see them again.

"We are not together, we are just f**k buddies. I don't know whats going through her head right now but she is f*****g wacked out of her f*****g mind for announcing herself like that." I was still very much pissed, and I was hoping my bro here could lighten up my mood some, cause if not I would have to excuse myself for a little and take a glide under the sea to release some anger.

    He shakes my shoulder a little and tells me, "relax TeTe, she is just jealous of the way some of the other women were eye f*****g you."  I slightly turn my head and with my enhanced vision I am able to make out what he was talking about. There are 2 women, A long black haired and a mid length red head. Both great bodies, the black hair woman with larger breast then the red head. They are both staring at my back and I can feel the anger rolling off Jes.

That made my mood lighten, its quite comical. With a chuckle, "Well even though she has never acted this way before." 

"Yea well I guess you will have to discuss this with her later, In the mean time is that delicious ass smelling food ready to devour now?" Max says in an amused impatient tone.

"Well you need to get me something to put the food on, unless you plan on eating it off the grill Maxie Pad." I tell him with a laugh. He scurries to get a large cookie sheet.

As he holds it I place the cooked ribs, chicken, Brats, and hamburgers on it. I point him to the outdoor counter, "Set it over there while I get the buns and plates."

I walk past Jes and and she grabs ahold of my arm trying to stop me. I look at her, "Food is ready if yours is ready." I continue in the house and get the things I need.

A few hours pass and we all ate and cracked at each other. In all I had a great time with the guys. We sat at the bonfire and drank beer while talking about old missions and funny memories. The girls drank their fruity mixed drinks and just sat on the guys laps and hung on them like their life depended on it, Jes sat beside me and was very silent.

    Cleaning up from the bonfire was not that difficult, and didn't take all of 10 mins. As I close the fridge from storing the leftovers, I turn around to Jes smashing her lips onto mine. I grab her by the arms and yank her off me as a menacing growl erupted from my dragon.

"What the hell has gotten into you?" I all but haller at her.

I see her wince a bit before she composes herself, I am after all her Dova.

"I'm in love with you and I think it is time that we take things to the next level," she finally gets out in a bit of a rush.

For some unknown I start to fume. My emotions are all over the place and I have no idea why. I take a few deep breaths to try and calm down a bit, after all she didn't do anything wrong. We have been doing this same old thing for a while now, and most women would think it would go further.

"I have told you this before, I don't want a relationship. We can either remain as we are, or nothing at all. I do care about you but not in that way, I'm sorry." I try to say in a nicer tone but it doesn't come out that way. 

    I can see sadness in her eyes, but I have seen much of that all day. Something more is going on but I'm not in the mood to ask right now.

"So you just use me for s*x and then throw me to the curb, is that it?" she screamed back at me. Wait is this our first argument?

"Don't even go there Jessica, we both agreed on the term of what we have been doing. Don't you even dare throw that in my face." I growled back. Who does she think she is accusing me of such bullshit. She was just as satisfied with the arrangement as I was.We didn't really talk about a relationship but both agreed that friends with benefits was the best way to go. 

As I was turning around to walk out she tried again. "Baby please I truly believe that we are mates. Maybe not first mated but second chance mated. I feel a connection to you, please don't shut me out." She was crying now.

    Stopping dead in my tracks I turn around. I did feel bad for cause she truly does look broken, so I do the one thing I can think of to calm us both down.

"I need to let my dragon and stretch our wings. I'll think about what you said while I'm out." She shakes her head and I walk out.

I go to the edge of the cliff and use my enhanced sight to scan the waters for any humans. In the distance I spot some movement in the water, as I concentrate I spot a mermaid. She has beautiful long flowing red hair, and fair skin is all I can see from here. It also appears that she is waving at me or to me. After scanning more I see a few boats dotted the sea so I turn toward the house. I go around back where there is a medium size shed.

    It holds my outdoor tools, and some activity things. Going over to the wall there is a tiny hole about eye level, so I peak in. A red laser pops out and scans my eye to open the hidden door.

After the door opens I make my way down the spiral stone stair case. It goes down about five stories. I could have gone cheaper and faster using meta, but I like the look and natural feel of stone much better. Once I reach the bottom, I walk about thirty feet to the end of the stone hallway to the platform. The platform blends into the water by being right under the surface of the water. This is where I go when humans are around so they don't see me shift.

    Undressing I finally shift and take off under water as fast as I can to stay out of prying eyes. I glide under the water and make my way to the mermaid that I saw a few mins ago. As I reach her no sooner does my head come up from the water does she have her arms wrapped around my big neck.
