Mara hears giggles coming from the kitchen as she walks to get something to eat, Daniel and Lila where having fun maming breakfast together, this was a foreign thing to her she had never felt this kind of warmth and love even thou it was not directed to her she felt safe just from seeing this scene in the kitchen, morning greeted Lila as she smiled, oh u finally up said Daniel, how was your sleep hope you where comfortable he added
.I slept like a baby replied Mara, haven't slept this well in a while. Here sit and have breakfast with us before we rush off to work hope nothing will make u sick, Daniel handed her a chair and a plate full of a warm meal with tea next to it, Maras heart melted as she looked at her plate she was used to being the one who would be serving and making food, cleaning and washing clothes when she was with Mark, slowly she accepted the plate, thank you very much this looks yummy. I'm glad you like it said Lila. I'm off, Daniel rushed, giving Lila a gentle kiss on the cheek. Have an amazing day, she replied. I'll be going in a bit late today. I wanna make sure that you are settling well she added to Mara.
I really don't want to be a burden you have already done so much for me. Nonsense, said Lila, it's the least I can do for all you have been through. Everything will be just fine. Lila comes close with a gentle hug, reassuring her that she is safe. Mara watched Lila's car drive off from the driveway and couldn't help but wonder how did she get it wrong, how did she end up in this situation, how can she miss all the signs in the relationship, how could she be so stupid and not be with some who would truly love and take care of her, tears ran down her eyes as she looked down at her belly and softly but lovingly spoke to her baby, we will be ok my love I'm sorry for everything. I need to get a job, she spoke out loud. I need to rebuild my life. With a heavy sigh, I pray things will fall into place. As she paged and looked through her phone, she saw some job ads. Still, all of them required qualifications she didn't have; he had not finished school and had dropped out. While reading through the ads she heard a car driving in the drive way, it was Daniel he had some files he had left at home, he looked like was a great business man who knew his industry and he loved his wife, as he drove off, she thought to herself, I wish I had a husband to take care of me, to be my night and shining knight anyway let me get back to finding a job.
Later that day, as the couple came back, she noticed how gentle and kind Daniel was to his wife and how he spoke to her, how he greeted her, and took her shoes off to rub her feet after a long day. As the days went by she noticed how he made sure that all she needed was done and how hard but happily he was working to meet their needs, she couldn't help but wish it was her who was being treated this good, but she quickly dismissed these thoughts as she loved and adored Lila and their relationship, she did want to have any risk of being attracted to Daniel. "So when are u going to the doctor for the baby check-up? " asked Lila during dinner, Oh, I hadn't really planned to go. I'm still looking for a job so that I can take care of that and help you with the finances, as well, replied Mara. Don't worry about that we will be happy to help you with the baby appointments right hunny?, Lila patted Daniel on his shoulder for approval, Yes sure it's not a problem at all he added, I can also help you find a job my company is hiring u can apply and I will see what I can do. Oh, that is too much. I really can't accept that. You guys have been kind already. Mara feels like she owes you a lot. It's ok, it's just so that you can get back to your feet. Everyone needs to be given a break once in a while, it's really not a problem responded Lila. I'll help u clean up said Daniel to Lila as she was tidying up the dinner table, and thoughts came to Maras' mind, Daniel is so kind to her, he even helps her clean up that's so nice I really wish this is how I was treated but then again I wasn't smart enough to choose a good partner for myself. I'm off to bed thanks for dinner said Mara as she walked to her room. I have made an appointment for you to see the doctor this afternoon at 2pm, " said Lila during breakfast. Oh, ok, no problem said Mara thank you. The car drove in the driveway, Mara rushed down so she wouldn't make Lila wait she was kind and good to her, she didn't want her waiting for a long time, she locked the door quickly turning to see Daniel instead of Lila, Oh sorry I thought you where Lila I'm sorry she had said she would pick me up at this time, yeah Daniel responded I'm here for her she is busy at work she couldn't make it are you ready ?, we can go. As the car drove to the doctor Mara couldn't help but think This is nice at least someone is coming with me to the doctor, his so kind even to me who is a stranger to him, I wish he would drive me to all my appointments I have never been treated so gently by a man before it really feels good. I hope Lila knows how lucky she is to have him as a husband.
