Chapter 5 It was nearly two weeks without any word from Vitor and it surprised Maggie how much that bothered her. Their morning together had unnerved her, but she had fully expected to see him regularly. Instead, she heard nothing from him at all. She hadn’t even caught sight of him around town. She and Jackie had been doing their best to be out amongst the town people every day in an attempt to integrate themselves in to the community, which made his absence all the more strange.
