Beneath The Bad.

Chapter 9. The Consequences.

It was morning and Reed had discovered that the little girl had escaped. he knew immediately that it had something to do with Alex. So he called both him and Jackson to his office, hoping that with enough beating, one of them will crack. He had noticed that they were both getting along, he had seen them talk a couple of times, so he figured that if Alex didn't want to admit it, maybe Jackson would.

They both stood before Reed and Kia, their hearts racing with anticipation. They knew they were in so much trouble for letting the girl escape.

Using the fishing technique, Reed tried to get the answer out of them. “I knew you were the one that let the girl escape, I won't hurt you, just tell me why”.

“She probably picked the lock herself and found a way out. She's quite small so maybe she squeezed her way out through the window or somewhere”. Jackson tried to make up excuses.

Reed giggled, “Do you think I'm a fool? Do you think I was born yesterday Jackson? Well let me ask again, maybe I wasn't been crystal clear before, who released the girl?”.

“We didn't do anythi—”, Before Alex could finish his sentence, Reed gave a heavy blow to his stomach, “Lier!!, don't lie to me now kid, just tell me the truth and I wouldn't have to hurt you”.

Jackson stepped forward, his eyes locked on Reed, “it was my fault, Reed, I'm the one who let her go”.

Alex eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't correct him, he knew he was trying to protect him.

Reed's gaze narrowed, “and why would you do that, Jackson?”.

Jackson shrugged. “I just didn't think it was right, keeping her like that, she's just a kid”.

Reed chuckled like a mad man. “so... You just took matters into your own stupid hands right?". Reed's expression turned cold. “You'll pay for your weakness Jackson. Ohh you'll pay dearly”.

With a nod, Reed gestured kia to call few of the guys in. They surrounded Jackson. Alex tried to step forward but he was held back. “Leave him alone Reed!”. Alex shouted, struggling against the grip.

The guys dragged Jackson to the torture room, leaving Alex feeling helpless and enraged.

Reed went back to his sit and started eating some crackers like nothing happened. “What are you still doing here Alex?, Get out of my sight".

Alex knelt down and begged for forgiveness, pleading with Reed to release Jackson. But Reed just munched on his crackers as if no one was talking. “Did'nt you hear what he said? Get out!”. Kia said as he pushed him out.

Walking towards the torture room, Alex was traumatised as the screams of Jackson echoed everywhere. His mind couldn't picture what Jackson was going through, the pains he must be in.

The shouting and screaming continued for almost an hour before it ended. The guys came out, with there knuckles bleeding. Alex immediately ran inside. The scene was rather heartbreaking. Jackson was lying down almost to the point of death, his face bruised and swollen, his body covered in blood, and worse of everything was that, his right thumb was missing, they cut off his thumb. This sight made tears run down Alex's cheeks.

He immediately cut his shirt and wrapped Jackson's hand in it, he was loosing so much blood. Alex checked his pulse, luckily he was still alive but in a critical condition.

He tore his clothes and cleaned the blood on his face. With carefulness, he carried Jackson to one of the rooms, laid him on the bed and immediately went out to get first aid supplies. He couldn't take him to the hospital because lots of questions will be asked and might even lead to investigation.

He got back and treated his bruises, he goggle how to treat injuries and how to apply bandages. He felt responsible for what happened, because if he didn't rescue the girl, Jackson would be okay.

The bond he has gotten with Jackson was more than friendship, he had gotten a brother.
