An Idol's Love

Let’s all be honest, we all dreamt to be our idol’s partner or more specifically our idol’s lover. But have you ever thought about what would be your life if ever that dream will come true? Is it going to be as easy and as happy as we think? THIRD PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW This story starts in the Province of Bertioup, more specifically in the neighborhood of the Campbell and the Wright. It was a sunny day that time when a woman and a little boy approaches the woman and the little girl who are currently busy grooming their garden. The woman introduced herself as Mrs. Ann Wright and her son named Blaze Wright while the other one who is busy in her garden introduced herself as Mrs. Ezra Campbell and her daughter named Lorelei Campbell. That day was the first day of the Wright to live in their new house and the reason why they are in front of the Campbell’s yard is because they wanted to invite them for a dinner on that day which the Campbell immediately accepted. During their dinner, they found out that their children are in the same age and right at the moment, since the opening of classes is already near Mrs. Campbell recommended her daughter’s school to Mrs. Wright which the woman immediately accepted and decided to enter her son in the same school as Mrs. Campbell’s daughter’s school. And since the children of the Campbell and the Wright enter the same school, they also head towards their school together as well as going home. As days passed between these two children, they become closer and closer until they become best friends or more like brother and sister because of how close they are.   “Look at our children, at first I truly thought that they won’t be that close but look at them now sticking like brother and sister.” Mrs. Wright said while looking at Lorelei and Blaze playing with their toys in the living room.   “Yeah, I also didn’t thought that my daughter will be as close as this to your son because we are all aware that my daughter is not that sociable. So, thanks to you and your son because my daughter has her best friend now.” Mrs. Campbell said with a genuine smile on her face while she’s cooking her specialty. Today is new year’s eve so the two families decided to celebrate this occasion together.   “Mom, can we already open our gift?” Blaze asked his mom while holding the green box with his name written on it. Extreme happiness and excitement can be seen on the little boy’s eyes while holding the box of his gift. Mrs. Wright sat down on her knees so she can be as the same level as Blaze’s height before answering the little boy.   “We can it open it later after we welcome the new year okay? For now, go ahead to your room and take Lorelei with you. You guys should sleep first and we will just wake you up when 12:00am is almost near so we can welcome the new year altogether, okay?” Mrs. Wright said while rubbing the head of Blaze.   “Okay mom!” Blaze answered full of enthusiasm before heading back to where Lorelei is. Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Campbell can overheard the conversation of the two little children and they cannot help but to smile because of how cute their children are.   “Yeah, my mom said we should head towards my room first and then we sleep and then the moment we wake up we can open our gift together!” Blaze said with full of excitement on his voice.   “Really? Then we should go to your room now and sleep. I am so excited to open my gift!” Lorelei said and Blaze just nods at her while smiling ear-to-ear before holding the little girl’s hand and pulling her gently towards his room. As Mrs. Wright promised to the little Blaze, she woke them up at exactly 11:30 in the evening and waited for midnight to arrive altogether. Even though the two children are still sleepy, just by hearing the word gift they immediately stand up from their bed and head downstairs with full of energy as if they are not so sleepy earlier. As midnight arrived, the two families exchange greetings with each others with genuine happiness inside their hearts, especially the Campbell family because before the Wright family arrived on their neighborhood they usually celebrate every special occasions all by themselves so, they are so happy because finally they were able to celebrate new year with other people.   “Happy new year Lorelei!” Blaze greeted the little girl with a smile on his face while holding a white envelope in his right hand.   “Happy new year too, Blaze! Is that for me?” Lorelei asked the little boy with full of excitement on her voice and her face. Blaze just nods at her before handing over the white envelope he is holding.   “Thank you so much Blaze!” Lorelei said after receiving her gift and hugged the little boy so, so tight.   “Hey, two cuties! Come here, you can open your gift now!” Mrs. Campbell said which made the two children run towards her so fast out of the excitement they are feeling to open their gifts. Ever since the Wright family moved on to the neighborhood of the Campbell family they always spend and celebrate every special occasion together.   9 years later… Lorelei and Blaze are now both on their last year in high school, and ever since they were little they always enter the same school up to this day. LORELEI’S POINT OF VIEW “Yeah, and did you know that she told me she likes me?” Blaze is still blabbering this stuff about Mitchell confessing her feelings to him ever since we left his classroom.   “Really? Then you should date her! She is the most popular girl on this campus and she just confessed her feelings for you!” I said with full of excitement on my voice trying to hide the irritation that I am feeling.   “But I didn’t like her. I told you about this because I want to ask you how should I reject her without hurting her feelings.” He said which made me stopped on walking and eases the madness I am feeling at this moment.   “Wait, did I heard it correctly? You didn’t like Mitchell?” I asked him referring about the most popular girl on the whole campus and he just nods at me before giving me his answer.   “Yeah, I didn’t like her. Yeah she is pretty and she is smart and a lot of boys like her, but I just didn’t like her the way she likes me.” He said which kind of make me feel happy. I was just sulking earlier because the moment he head outside his classroom that is the first thing he utter about and right now I was like sitting on cloud nine because of happiness and I know you know the reason why.   “Hmm, that is so impossible that you didn’t like her! Most of the boys on our campus likes her except you?! Wait, don’t tell me you are a…” I paused for a while to check his reaction.   “Gay?” He asked me while one of his brow is raising at me so I just nod at him while looking on my feet because I am scared that he is mad at me. I just lifted my head and looked at him while frowning because he suddenly burst into laughter.   “HAHAHAHA! Geez! Lorelei, we have known each other for almost a decade and you are still questioning my gender? You know that I am not gay, and also doesn’t mean that I didn’t like Mitchell means that I am gay already.” He said and then started to walk again so I immediately follow him and walk beside him.   “Then, if you are not a gay, the only reason that you didn’t like her would be, you like another girl?” I asked him and his face immediately turn as red as tomatoes which made me giggle because I immediately caught him off guard, and his reaction is so cute!   “Oh my goodness! We have known each other for about a decade and you dare to hide this thing from me? How could you!” I said and then I started to act as if I was sulking and mad at him.   “I will tell you about it but I am just so shy to open this thing to you because geez, we are already teenagers Lorelei and opening about this stuff is just so embarrassing for me now.” He said which made me agree with him because if I were in his situation I will say the same thing.   “Okay, fine, fine, I am not mad okay? It’s just a joke, just tell me about that whenever you are ready, no pressure.” I said while smiling at him genuinely before getting his hand and squeeze it gently to give him further assurance.   “Hmm, okay. Just give me more time to prepare myself okay?” He said so I just nod at him before we start to walk again towards the cafeteria while our hands are intertwined to each other. We have been like this ever since we were little, holding each others’ hands while we are heading somewhere and I am so happy because even though a decade has passed on us and we are already teenagers our closeness is still the same as we were little.   “What do you want to eat?” He asked me as we arrived at the cafeteria.   “Ahm, it’s up to you since it’s your treat today.” I said and then smiled at him the moment he looked at me.   “Okay, then just go sit there and wait for me okay?” He said while pointing at the vacant table on the right side of the cafeteria.   “Okay, and oh! I almost forgot can you buy me a yogurt?” I asked him before heading towards the table.   “Okay, same flavor again?” He asked me so I just nod at him while smiling because of how well he knew me.   “Thank you!” I said and then head towards the vacant table. While I am waiting for Blaze, I just get my phone from my pocket to read some of my notes for our exam later, when someone slams its hands on the table which made me automatically looked who it is.   “Mitchell?” I said the moment I saw her standing in front of me while she is looking at me with full of madness in her eyes.   “Lorelei Campbell right?” She asked me so I just nod at her even though I am not sure why she’s here in front of me and why does she look so mad at me. After I answered her, I just found myself in the middle of these four big girls and honestly they all look so scary.   “I heard that you are flirting with Blaze?” She told me which made me frowned at her because where on earth did she get that news?!   “No! Blaze is just my best friend, nothing more, nothing less.” I said trying to hide my fear but I can still hear that my voice is shaking which made Mitchell smirked at me.   “Hmm, it looks like someone is scared of me. Don’t be hon, just tell me the truth. Are you truly Blaze’s girlfriend?” She asked me and then slammed his hands on the table which made me jumped off on my seat again.   “No, no, no, I am telling you the truth, Blaze is just my best friend.” I said while my eyes were close truly tight because I am so scared to open them.   “Girls, you can leave us now I need to talk to her privately.” Mitchell said and the four big scary girls immediately leave the cafeteria. While I am looking at them walking away, Mitchell grabbed my face all of a sudden which made me looked at her.   “Since you are Blaze’s best friend you should have known everything he likes and you must tell me those right now! Also, you will help me get closer to him starting from this day onwards until I make him mine. Do you understand me?” She asked me so I just nod at her slowly which made her smiled at me.   “Here is my phone number, after class hours you must message me about the things Blaze wants and starting from tomorrow you must get away from him, or else you know what’s waiting for you.” She said and then pointed outside the cafeteria and saw the girls looking at me or more like glaring at me which automatically sends shivers down to my spine.   “Okay.” I said and then she just nods at me before walking away from our table. After Mitchell left, Blaze arrives at our table while holding the tray of our food on his hands.   “Hey, are you okay?” He asked me while he’s putting down our food on the table.   “Ah, yeah, yeah, I am fine.” I said and then smiled at him before getting my food.   “Tell me about it later okay?” He said and then grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently which made me looked at him and saw that he is smiling at me genuinely.   “Yeah.” I said and then remove his hand from mine which made him frowned because usually, I will also squeeze his hand before removing it, but I need to be cautious about my actions, someone might be watching me and told Mitchell about this. I didn’t want to put myself in danger as well as Blaze. We just finished our lunch together without talking as well as head towards our classroom quietly.   “Wait for me later okay? Don’t come home all by yourself.” Blaze said before heading towards his classroom.   “Yeah.” I said and then I immediately walk towards my seat. As I sit on my chair, my friends immediately looked at me with those questioning look on their faces which made me look at them while I am frowning.   “Why?” I asked them.   “I heard that you got into a fight earlier?” Ellis asked me which made me sigh because news truly has wings, it spread so fast like wildfire. I just nod at her as my answer because I didn’t feel like talking about it right now but I also know that they won’t stop asking me without getting the answers they need.   “Hmm, what happened?” Kara asked me. I just let out a heavy sigh before answering her because I knew they will keep on pestering me just to get the answer they want, so I started to tell them everything about what happened in the cafeteria earlier from the start-up to the end because knowing my friends they want the story to be complete so that’s what I am giving them. After telling them about what happened, I am just listening to their commentaries about it.   “But you like Blaze right?” Ellis asked which immediately caught my attention and looked at her.   “Yeah, I like Blaze and I didn’t want to give him up as well as our friendship but Mitchell has her card on her and our safety is on the stake here.” I said and then look at my notes again.   “And you also told us that Blaze didn’t like Mitchell right? He might just get mad at you if you will push him to the girl he doesn’t like.” Kara said which made sense because knowing Blaze, out of all the things he hates, making him do what he didn’t want to do is the thing he hated the most and he might get mad at me if I ever push him towards Mitchell.   “You have a point there Kara, honestly I didn’t know what to do at this moment. I didn’t want to help Mitchell to get closer to Blaze because I am aware that Blaze hates Mitchell and most importantly I love Blaze and if I ever do that it was like I am torturing myself but, I am also so scared for my safety as well as Blaze’s.” I said and then put my head on my table. I suddenly felt that, my friends started to hug me so tight which kind of makes me feel comfortable and safe.   “We are always here for you Lorelei but for now, clear your mind first and remove your thoughts about it. Think about your next move after talking over this with Blaze, because for us Blaze has the right to know about this matter.” Ellis said which made sense so I just nod at her. After helping me to clear my mind and my thoughts, they all unclasped the hug and started to review again for our upcoming exam for this day. After class hours, I immediately put all my stuff inside my bag and was about to leave our classroom when Ellis called me.   “What is it?” I asked her while she is busy packing all her stuff.   “You are going to go home by yourself today?” She asked me.   “Ah, I was about to, why?” I asked her and then she just zipped her bag first before looking and answering me.   “We told you, you should talk about this matter with Blaze. Don’t just runaway Lorelei, that is not you. You used to face everything and take every matter hand in hand.” She said while walking towards me.   “You should wait for Blaze and once you arrived at your house talk about this okay? Blaze will surely understand this situation and I know he can help you on what your next step will be, trust me and trust Blaze.” Ellis said and then tap my shoulder first before walking past by me.   “Oh, Blaze, yeah she is still inside. Take care on your way home.” I heard Ellis said which made my heart suddenly beats so fast just by hearing his name.   “Yeah, thank you!” I heard Blaze said to Ellis. I took a deep breath first before heading towards him. I didn’t want to show him that something is bothering me because I didn’t want him to worry about me.   “How’s your exam?” Blaze immediately asked me the moment he saw me walking towards him.   “It’s fine, I just kind of had a hard time on answering the identification because I just read about that part once.” I said while smiling at him.   “I am sure that you ace the other parts.” He said and then rubbed my head as I reached him.   “Ah, stop it!” I said while trying to block his hand using mine.   “HAHAHAHA! It was truly nice teasing you. Let’s go?” He said so I just nod at him and then we started to walk together. While we are walking, he is just talking about how his exam went until we reached the school bus where we usually ride.   “Ah, by the way are you free this evening?” I asked him as we sat down on the bus’s seat.   “Hmm, yeah why?” He asked me.   “I just want to talk some important matter with you.” I said which made him frowned.   “Hmm, okay. I will just go to your house after I eat my dinner.” He said so I just nod at him and remained quiet until we arrived at our house.   “See you later okay?” I said before heading inside our yard.   “Yeah, yeah!” He said and then waved his hand at me before heading inside their yard. While I am walking towards our house, I thought that Ellis was right, I should have talk over this to Blaze because he is the main involve here and he have the right to know about this and I will stop to chicken out and fight for what I think is right.
