Blaze's Audition

LORELEI’S POINT OF VIEW

After our class this morning, I received a message from Blaze saying that his professor allowed him to bring me with him on his audition and I can’t hide my excitement right now because I am so proud of my best friend and also of my boyfriend.

“So, you won’t come home with me later?” Ellis asked me while we are walking towards the cafeteria.

“Yeah, I will go with Blaze on his first ever audition! Geez, I am so excited and very proud of him.” I said while smiling at her.

“It is so obvious that you are so excited but what are you going to do if he will get chosen as the main character and his series will get so famous?” She asked me which made me looked at her while smiling still.

“Of course, I will support him even if he will decide to hide our relationship I am fine with that as long as at the end of the day he is still mine. I am happy supporting him in silence.” I said which made Ellis nod at me and just remained quiet. I know it sounds so martyr but I just love him so much and I know he loves me the same way I do, so I am not scared if ever he gets famous or such things. We just continue talking while we are eating our lunch and since we didn’t have afternoon class for this day I decided to head towards Blaze’s department and wait for him there.

“Are you sure you didn’t want me to stay here with you?” Ellis asked me as we arrived in Blaze’s department.

“Nah, it’s fine. Besides, you told me that there are still things you need to do right? You can go home now I can take care of myself.” I said while smiling at her.

“Okay, then see you tomorrow okay? Tell Blaze that I am wishing for his good luck!” Ellis said so I just nod at her while waving my hand at her. When she is not in my sight anymore, I decided to head towards the department’s lobby to wait there for Blaze. I didn’t tell him that I am already here but he knew that I don’t have afternoon classes for this day since we both knew our schedules.

“Lei?” I immediately put down my phone on the table when I heard Blaze’s voice from my back. I slowly turn around and saw Blaze together with his friends while they are holding trays of food.

“Hey!” I said and then stands up from my seat and head towards him. Blaze immediately handed the tray he’s holding to his friend beside him to welcome me with a tight hug. I heard that his friends are starting to tease us but I just don’t give a thing about them.

“You should have told me that you will come here, did you eat already?” He asked me, and then he gets his tray again from his friend before we head back to the table where I am sitting earlier.

“Yeah, I ate lunch with Ellis before I come here,” I said while smiling at him.

“Do you want to eat anything? I can buy it for you.” He said but I just shake my head at him.

“No need, I am already full so don’t worry about me okay?” I said and then sit back on the chair.

“By the way, after we eat our lunch we will head to the audition because our professor in acting class told me that the audition will start at exactly 1:00 pm.” Blaze said so I just nod at him and then after that, they started to eat their food. While I am waiting for them to finish I just started to read again the novel that I am reading.

“What are you doing?” Blaze asked me. I didn’t notice that they are already done eating their food, I am so into deep while reading this novel.

“Ah, I am reading a novel that my friend recommended to me,” I said while smiling at him.

“Now I wonder, how many novels did you already finish ever since you became so into reading?” Blaze asked me which made me smiled.

“I don’t know, maybe I already finished 20 books already when it comes to soft copies ones and I think I already finished more than 10 books when it comes to hard copies ones,” I said which surprised him a lot.

“Whoa! I knew you read a lot of books but I didn’t have a single idea that you have finished reading that many books.” He said as he stands up from the chair.

“Yeah, I also didn’t know that I already finished that many books,” I said and then Blaze lay his hand in front of me to help me stand up from my seat. I immediately grabbed his hand and then stands up from my seat and we started walking towards their cafeteria to bring back their trays. After they put back the trays, we head towards the parking lot to get the cars and head towards the audition place.

“So, let’s just meet there okay?” Blaze said to his friends as we reached the parking lot of the school.

“Yeah, let’s just meet there!” Mark said with full of energy while raising both of his arms.

“Drive safely okay?”  Paul said before heading inside his car.

“Yeah.” Blaze said and then opened the door for me so I immediately head inside and then Blaze just closed the door first before heading to the driver’s seat. As he heads inside, Blaze started the engine of our car, and then we started moving.

“How far is the audition place from here?” I asked him while we are on our way.

“Ah, it’s just 15 minutes drive so you won’t get bored on our way.” He said which made me smiled because he knew that I hate long drive! After that, we just remained quiet while on our way there. I can sense that Blaze is kind of feel nervous so I just let him calm and prepare himself for his first audition ever. As we arrived there, I was so surprised at how many people are auditioning for this series.

“Whoa! There are a lot of people here.” I said as we head outside the car.

“Yeah, because the author of the book of this series adaptation is quite famous as well as this book so I kind of expected to have a lot of people that are going to audition for this series but not as many as this.” Blaze said while looking at the crowd. He looks so nervous and anxious while looking at the crowd so I decided to grab his hand and squeeze it gently to help him calm down.

“You can do this Blaze. I believe in you and I will forever believe in you.” I said while squeezing his hand gently. Blaze grabbed both of my hands and kissed them gently before looking at me with those pure smiles on his lips.

“Thank you so much, Lei.” He said while smiling at me.

“You don’t need to thank me, Blaze, besides I am your best friend and your believer,” I said while smiling at him.

“Hmm, you forget one of your roles in my life.” He said which made me frowned.

“Hmm, what is it?” I asked him and then he just grabbed my waist and pulled me towards him truly close while his other hand is holding my chin which made me looked at him.

“The role that I loved so much, and that is as my other half.” He said which made me blushed because the way he said it, it was full of sensation and I am not used to that kind of Blaze. I immediately pull out of his arms and turned around from him because I can feel that my face is burning because of what he has just done.

“Hey, is there something wrong?” Blaze asked me so I just shake my head at him while my back is still in front of him.

“Blaze, let’s go! We need to put our names on the list!” I heard Mark’s voice called Blaze not so far away from us.

“Wait, I will just---“ I immediately cut off what Blaze is going to say because I know he will make sure that there is nothing wrong with me before heading somewhere and I didn’t want him not to make in the cut of the auditioners today.

“Go on Blaze,” I said as I turned around while smiling at him to give him more assurance that I am fine. He looks so unsure while looking at me but still decided to head to his friends.

“Then, I will go there now okay? I will just message you once we are done.” He said so I just nod at him while smiling. Blaze just waved his hand at me before running towards his friends and then they head the room together. When they are not in my sight anymore, I decided to head back inside our car and wait for them here.

“Geez! Who’s Blaze did I just saw earlier?” I asked myself when I suddenly remember the Blaze that pulled me towards him so close and speaks with full of sensation. It was like, I saw another side of Blaze that I haven’t met before, and honestly, I didn’t like that Blaze. I just shake my head off of that thought because I didn’t want to ruin Blaze’s image on my mind and just diverse my thought with other things like the novel that I am currently reading. While I am busy reading on my phone, Blaze’s caller I.D immediately pops up on my screen so I immediately answered it.

“Hmm?” I said as I answered his call.

“Where are you right now?” He asked me.

“I am inside our car, why?” I asked him.

“Nothing, nothing, I just went outside the audition room and I didn’t see you so I just checked you.” He said which made me smiled.

“By the way, how’s it going there?” I asked him while looking outside the car and watching lots of auditioners that keep on coming like there is no end to them.

“It’s still fine, they still haven’t picked someone for the main character but they already picked the leading lady so they are just looking for the leading man and then some supporting roles.” He said and I can hear that his voice is quite shaky meaning that he is so nervous right now.

“Blaze, I know you can do it okay? Don’t pressure yourself so much because you know that whenever you pressure yourself so much you cannot bring the best in you right? So, take a deep breath and then exhale, do it until you feel calm.” I said and then I heard him took a deep breath and then exhale and repeat.

“Thank you, Lei, it kind of helps me to calm myself down.” He said which made me smile.

“No worries,” I said

“By the way, I will end the call now okay? It’s already Mark’s turn and I need to watch it.” He said so I just nod at him as if he can see me.

“Okay, good luck! I love you so much!” I said while smiling.

“Thank you, Lei, I love you more!” He said and then ended the call. After that call, I just decided to read again while waiting for them to finish. It took an hour of waiting for them until I received another call from Blaze and he just told me that it’s already his turn so I just told him good luck and other words that can help him to cheer up. After that call, I just returned to reading again and wait again for another hour. After an endless of waiting for them, I finally see them walking towards here so I immediately put my phone inside my bag and head outside the car to welcome them.

“Congratulations on your first audition ever, so how did it go?” I asked them as they reached our car.

“Well, not bragging about it so much but we just kind of sweep out the other auditioners,” Mark said which made me shake my head at him. Big-headed as always.

“But honestly, kidding aside but we truly sweep out the other auditioners, especially this man right here. Geez! While he is acting out his scene it was like I am watching a stranger because I didn’t even see a single Blaze in him earlier.” Paul said which made me looked at Blaze with full of happiness and a proud look on my face.

“Wow! Congratulations Blaze!” I said and then hugged him so tight and I felt that he hugged me back.

“Thank you so much, Lei, I wasn’t able to do that if it weren’t because of you. Thank you for cheering me up and believing in me.” He said while I am in between his arms.

“I told you, you can do it,” I said and then looked at him. Blaze just kissed my forehead gently before unclasping the hug.

“By the way, when will you know about the result?” I asked them while we are walking towards our car.

“Ah, the director of the series told us that they will just send an e-mail to us whether we pass the audition or not,” Mark said so I just nod at him.

“So, congratulations again to the three of you. I am hoping that all of you will be cast to that series.” I said before heading inside the car.

“Thank you so much, Lei! We also hope the same thing. Take care on your way home okay?” Paul said so I just nod at him and then head inside the car. As I head inside, Blaze stays there not for so long and talks to his friends. After that, Blaze just sent off Mark and Paul before heading inside our car.

“Lei, they are inviting us to Mark’s house for a little celebration this evening, do you want to come?” He asked me as we started to move.

“Sure! Let’s stop by the grocery store near to our house so we can buy some ingredients.” I said which made him looked at me while smiling.

“Are you going to cook?” He asked me so I just nod at him before answering.

“Yeah, I want to cook for you,” I said and then looked at him.

“Wow! I missed your cooking so much. Finally, I will be able to taste your food again.” He said while his eyes were sparkling like a little child.

“Of course, it is another milestone in your life so we better celebrate it extra special,” I said which made him smile more. Blaze grabbed my hand all of a sudden and then kissed it gently which made me looked at him.

“I am so lucky to have you, Lei, I don’t know what will I do if I ever lose you.” He said which made my heart melts.

“You won’t ever lose me, Blaze, I promised that I am always here for you no matter what happens even if you will become a famous actor I will still be here supporting you and loving you unconditionally,” I said while smiling at him.

“I love you, Lei! Promise me that you will always be in my side no matter what.” He said

“Yeah, I promised that I will stay by your side no matter what so promised me the same thing. I love you so much!” I said while smiling at him.

“I promised, I promised that I will always be beside you, Lorelei Campbell.” He said which made me kind of emotional because he rarely says those words to me and I feel so overwhelmed right now because we feel the same thing, we didn’t want to lose each other. I just cannot see my future without him as well as him without me beside me. I just love this man so much that just thinking that I might lose him one day hurts my heart so much.

“What are you thinking?” Blaze asked me which made me came back to my senses.

“I am just thinking that if we are each others’ end game,” I said while looking at him. I saw that Blaze smiled before answering me.

“Of course, we will be each others’ end game, I promised you that!” He said which made me smiled.

“I couldn’t see myself without you Lei, so I will make sure that you are my end game and I am yours.” He added which made me smiled more.

“Hmm, we will be each others’ end game,” I said and then he just smiled at me. After that, we just remained quiet until we reached the grocery store and buy all the ingredients that I need for Blaze’s favorite dish.
