Chapter 27 — The Secret Room
Alexander stood completely still.
“You know where the original contract is?” Amelia asked.
He nodded slowly.
“My father had a private study in the mansion. There was a room nobody was allowed to enter.”
Daniel looked surprised.
“Your father never told you?”
“No.”
Alexander turned toward the door.
“We need to go back.”
Amelia followed him.
When they arrived at the mansion, everything was strangely quiet.
The broken window had been covered, and the guards were searching the grounds.
Alexander led Amelia upstairs.
They stopped in front of an old wooden door.
“This is it.”
Amelia looked at the door.
“Your father's study?”
“Yes.”
Alexander unlocked it.
Inside, the room was covered with old books and papers.
