AXEL
“Well top of the morning to you too!” said Derek rolling his eyes. “It’d be nice if you knock-
“Beta, get Allen. Now.” I had no time to waste. Derek moved like lightning, dropping his bagel that was in his hand. Lucian stood up and was in Gamma mode immediately.
“Luna Alpha?” he asked.
“Fine,” I said gruffly.
“Situation,” he said.
“Let’s wait for the Betas,” I said. We didn’t have to wait long. They both came through the door and stood at attention. I put my game face on and shut the door.
“I received a text 6 minutes ago,” I said. I didn’t even know what time it was really. The text came through at 7:55 am. I took out my phone and showed it to the three of them. Their faces grew grim and determined.
I know where Taliana is. Meet me at the front gates of the Avelox Witches coven on Friday at 3pm. The Alphas only or I leave.
“It’s a trap,” said Lucian folding his arms.
“Obviously,” I said, doing the same. “ I just need to find out who sent it.”
“But what if it isn’t a trap?” asked Derek. “What if they actually know where Taliana is and they’re just scared?”
“I thought of that too,” I said. “I still need to know who sent it."
Allen took my phone. “Unknown number …” he pondered. “I wonder if we can find out if it was sent from inside the pack. If someone really wanted to hide who they were, they’d have to be a good hacker and bounce it off a different tower.”
“Good thinking, Allen,” I said. “I want you to take it to one of our techs and see if you can trace the number and see where it was sent from….no wait.”
I took the phone from Allen and gave it to Derek. “Derek, I need you to talk to your father discreetly and ask him who the best computer tech in the pack is. He’ll know. I don’t want some rando doing this.”
“Probably Carlene or Sidio,” he said. “I’m on it.”
He had been dressing during all of this in case he had to go so he started to leave and I caught his arm.
“Besides this person, this conversation doesn’t leave this room. Not even my brothers or Luna Alpha know yet. Make sure this person knows that if anyone else finds out I will gouge out their eyes and eat them for breakfast. Those words exactly. Report in 2 hours.”
“Will do, Alpha,” said Derek. He left the room and I turned to Allen.
“Go to Oreilia the witch,” I said. “Find out everything you can about Avelox coven. Does she know any witches there, who’s the coven leader, location, everything. She’s a little spooked when you drop in on her unannounced. Even she doesn’t know what happened with Taliana so she’ll be confused by your visit. Keep it discreet. If she questions you, contact Aaron and I’ll come over.”
“Got it,” said Allen as he left. He was in boxers so I assumed he was going to change quickly before heading over.
Lucian looked at me as if waiting for his orders. “And you have a wedding to get ready for,” I smiled as much as I could.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” he said. “My Luna Alpha –
“Is fine,” I said. How could I be comforting Lucian when I was stressed out?
“He’s in danger,” Lucian growled.
“He’s always in danger,” I sighed. “But for today he’s a man of honor and you’re a groom. Mandy would literally kill me if I tried to take you down from that stage today. We won’t have to deal with this for 5 days.”
“Not gonna work. I’ll just be getting back from my honeymoon!” he said frustrated.
I knew it would be hard for him to spend five days away from Parker but with this looming over our heads he would go crazy.
“I order you to come back Wednesday,” I said. “Tell Mandy I’ll make it up to her.”
“Once I tell her what’s going on, she’ll understand.”
“Don’t tell her much, I want you to enjoy your honeymoon,” I said.
He nodded and I grabbed a warm cup of coffee. I slammed it back and headed back upstairs to our room after gripping Lucian’s shoulder letting him know everything would be ok. I was Alpha now. I had to remain calm and think straight no matter the rage that swirled inside my chest.
“I told you, I had a stomachache, I threw up and now my stomachache is gone and I feel fine,” Parker was saying as I entered the room. He stood and came to me. “What’s wrong? Why did you turn off your mindlink? I even tried to call you-
“Nothing’s wrong, everything’s fine, putting Lucian through a rite of passage,” I chuckled. I hated lying to him. “I think I left my phone with Derek, I’ll get it later.”
“You’re hiding your feelings from me still. What was the pack issue about? No secrets.”
I sighed. I couldn’t hide from him. I looked at my brothers and they were just as concerned.
“I will tell you but after the wedding, no secrets,” I said.
“Is it really that bad?” he asked.
“It’s not something we need to focus on today. Let’s get our best friends married and we can talk about it tomorrow, huh? It’s not urgent, promise.”
“You’re taking care of it?” asked Aaron.
“Yes,” I said.
“Then we’ll wait til tomorrow,” he sighed.
I pecked Parker on the lips which seemed to calm him and he smiled.
“Ok,” he said.
“Are you ok though?” I asked Parker. “Throwing up is not normal and you had the chills –
“I did not have the chills, I was hot because I was surrounded by 3 big alphas. Oh! I’m gonna be late for Mandy! Man of honor duties have already started! Gotta go!”
Parker ran and grabbed his suit for the wedding and took off to Mandy’s room, his guards following behind.
“Well,” said Andrew. “Gonna let us in on the secret?”
“Sit down guys,” I said. “I’ll tell you but we don’t have much time to discuss it. Once we’re dressed we need to go help Lucian as our betas are occupied. Andrew, just promise me you’ll keep Toni at bay.”
Andrew and Aaron looked at each other, now really concerned. They both had a seat and I proceeded to tell them what happened.

PARKER
“Sorry I’m late, sorry I’m late!" I burst into Mandy and Lucian’s room downstairs. “There was so much going on but I’m here now! What’s happening? What can I do?”
Charlotte rushed over to me. “Luna, Luna, it’s fine, Mandy’s still eating breakfast. Its only 8:30, you haven’t missed anything. Just breathe honey!” she had her hands on my shoulders.
I had panicked thinking I wasn’t there for my best friend.
“Luna Parker!” Mandy stood up in her pajamas.
It was like seeing a model for a magazine. She was bright and happy even though I could visibly see she was shaking. I didn’t know if it was from nervousness or happiness, probably both.
Mandy’s mother, Rachel, Beta Shelly and Gamma Lillian were there too, eating breakfast and talking. They all stood and bowed to me. Mandy rushed over and hugged me tightly.
“Luna, I’m so excited you’re here!”
“You don’t have to call me Luna best friend!” I hugged her back.
“The alphas would kill me if I didn’t,” she chuckled.
“Oh they’re a bunch of softies,” I laughed. I pulled back. “How are you though?”
She twirled around. “Oh I’m excited, I’m scared, I’m nervous, I’m happy! I still can’t believe Lucian is marrying me and I’ve got this little guy too…”
Mandy looked down and rubbed her belly. “I’m just glad the morning sickness is over and I’m not craving pickles anymore.”
I felt like I had missed out on Mandy’s first couple of months of her pregnancy because I’d been planning so many events.
“Don’t get too comfortable Mandy,” said Charlotte as she put an arm around her shoulder. “After the baby’s born you can use some of the uh, things I got you yesterday at your bachelorette party and you’ll be with child again in no time.”
We all giggled and the older ladies did too.
“Just so you know, Amanda,” I said in my junior high voice, “Lucian was going to marry you no matter what. He’s loved you from day one. You are amazing and beautiful and I love you.”
“Parker,” she whispered, trying not to cry. “I love you too.”
We shared a hug that turned into a group hug with Charlotte. My Alphas wouldn’t be too happy with all the scents on me but it was worth it.
I wasn’t trying not to eat breakfast but there was just too much going on for me to eat. I didn’t want what happened yesterday to happen today. I didn’t wanna down a whole bunch of food at the end of the night but it seemed inevitable because I probably wouldn’t get to eat a lot at the reception.
Charlotte and I were technically the wedding coordinators. Charlotte tried to take it all on herself but I insisted on helping because this was my friend. I had to be there for her.
We got Mandy’s hair and makeup done within the next hour and made sure she was hydrated and peed before we got to her dress.
It was absolutely gorgeous. It was a white, low-cut princess neckline with crystal beading and blue snowflakes going down from the middle to the train. She really did look like a princess with her blue glitter eye makeup and white gloves.
“Well?” Mandy said as she turned around all done up.
“Words cannot describe my darling,” her mother said with tears in her eyes.
“Seconded,” I said as I took her hand. I had on a little makeup as well so I was trying not to cry. We all had the frosted blue glitter look to match Mandy.
“Fifteen minutes boo,” said Charlotte beaming at her work. I know she was secretly happy that Mandy had chosen the dress she picked out too. “Let’s get you to your mate.”
