PARKER
I was over the toilet in seconds and a few moments later I felt Aaron rubbing my back. I could still hear Andrew snoring but he was stirring now.
Aaron gave me a cloth after a minute over the toilet and I wiped my mouth. I turned to him and he looked less concerned and more angry.
“Ok, maybe it is food poisoning,” I coughed and tried to smile.
“No,” he said narrowing his eyes. “And it’s not overeating. I ate everything you did and drank everything you did. It’s not food poisoning. How could I have been so stupid?”
Aaron looked like he was about to bust the mirror in the bathroom. Instead he let out a growl which had Andrew running in with us.
“What’s going on?” he asked. “Parker, you ok?”
“Yes, I feel fine –
“No, we’re not doing that today,” said Aaron. “Not again. It’s gone far enough. He’s been poisoned Andrew.”
“What the f**k?” yelled Andrew.
“No, wait,” I grabbed both their hands to calm them down. “Let’s think logically here. Aaron, you said you ate everything I ate. And if I was poisoned why wasn’t I sick last night?”
“I ate all the stuff you did but I stopped watching what you drank later in the evening,” he said. “Someone had to put something in your drink. Last night when we came home we all mentioned how pale and exhausted you looked.
You can’t tell me you didn’t feel sick last night. And you probably aren’t even feeling that bad now because you have a white wolf and whatever poison they used isn’t strong enough to kill you!”
Toni’s wolf came to the surface then and his nostrils flared. “I will flay everyone at that wedding until they tell me who poisoned my mate!” he yelled. “I’m calling Terix.”
“No, wait,” said Aaron. “He’s doing something important right now-
“This isn’t important?!” growled Toni. “It’s probably related!”
“Wait, what?” I asked. “What’s going on?”
“What’s going on is I’m going to kill anyone who had any knowledge of this,” said Aaron menacingly.
“Guys, listen to me,” I pleaded. “I need you both to calm down. I’m not hurt. I’m fine. Let’s take a shower and calm down. We can probably go to the doctor and figure it out first before you kill anyone. Ok?"
Toni looked at me like he was ready to rip throats out. I had to let Sai take over.
“My Toni,” said Sai in his soothing voice. He grabbed Toni’s face and pecked his lips.
“Sai, my sweetheart,” Toni closed his eyes. “No one at that wedding will live if they don’t tell me who hurt you.”
“Let’s get to the doctor first, ok?” said Sai. Then he looked at Aaron and smiled. “Besides. I’m strong. I’m still here. Nothing is going to take me from you. Can we please take a shower? And bring Andrew back Toni?”
Toni opened his eyes and blinked. Andrew was staring at me, still with fire in his eyes. I slipped out of my underwear and started the shower. Their anger didn’t dissipate but they calmed down as we let the water soothe us.
“I wanna get you to the doctor now,” Aaron said as we were getting dressed. “But Andrew’s right we should tell Axel and have him meet us there. He’ll flip out if we don’t tell him.”
“I’ll contact him,” said Andrew.
“No, I will,” I said. “You’ll scare him.”
Axel, can you meet us at the hospital? I’m going for a little check up. – me
WHAT? What’s happened? You ok? – Axel
I’m fine, it’s just –
Aaron, what the f**k? – Axel
Just a check up, remain calm. We’re on our way. – Aaron
Tell me the f*****g truth Aaron. Andrew! – Axel
We think he was poisoned. Get your ass to the hospital.- Andrew
Damn it.
Axel’s link cut off abruptly as we were getting in the car. It was only a few minutes ride to the hospital. Axel was pacing at the doors with just boxers on when we got there. He must’ve changed into his wolf to get there faster.
“Is he ok?” Axel asked, concerned, rushing down to me. “What happened?” He started to look me over then grabbed my hand and practically dragged me inside.
“It was just like yesterday,” said Aaron. “Pale, sweating, throwing up. I watched what he ate and ate the same things. Drank the same drinks. But I think someone slipped something in his drink. He wouldn’t be sick two days in a row. Or get food poisoning two days in a row. Unless it was on purpose.”
Axel was getting angrier by the moment and so was Andrew.
“Emergency team now,” growled Andrew while Aaron explained all of this. “Your Luna Alpha is sick!”
Nurses began scrambling and getting me a wheelchair to sit in. I wanted to roll my eyes but my Alphas would not have appreciated that. And it was kind of strange. I hadn’t been sick or throwing up since I was a child. I’d never had the flu.
Maybe…maybe I had been poisoned. But who would have it out for me? People who wanted the Alphas? Or people who didn’t want me to be Luna? The same people who had tried to shoot me with wolfsbane.
By the look on their faces my mates could hear my thoughts.
“I thought about that too,” said Aaron as he helped me into the bed. “Maybe someone slipped liquid wolfsbane into your drink.”
I heard Andrew’s fist go into the wall. He was breathing heavy and I could hear the terrible thoughts he had about ripping the whole pack apart.
“I’ll rip them apart piece by piece,” he growled. “No prayer to the moon Goddess will save them."
“When we’re done with them, the pieces of them will be thrown in the woods for the animals to feast on,” growled Terix.
This was going south real fast. “I haven’t even been seen yet guys, I’m sure it’s just the flu or something,” I said.
Aaron just growled and held my hand. Axel paced back and forth at the foot of my bed. Andrew leaned on the wall and stared at me, with a longing look. He was ready to strike the next person down who harmed me.
Dr. Iho came in after a few minutes and they swarmed her, telling her the reasons they brought me in without her asking. She said she would run some blood tests then check the contents of my stomach. She had to put a tube down my throat then do an ultrasound. She tried to get them to leave the room and they just ignored her.
With her and two other nurses it took about half an hour for them to do all the tests. And they had to endure my mates growling at them every time they touched me. I had to keep giving them stern looks to cut it out.
My mates came at her with questions about what was wrong but she told them they’d have to wait for the results which would come in about an hour. My mates continued to remain concerned and stressed out while she was gone but I tried to comfort them.
Dr. Iho came in about an hour after she left.
“Alphas, Luna Alpha,” she said with a smile.
“Well, what is it?” Axel said nearly interrupting her.
“Yeah, was he poisoned?” Aaron asked squeezing my hand.
Dr. Iho was a little taken aback but she smiled again. “Oh, nothing as serious as that. Well, I guess it is a little serious.”
“What does that mean?” asked Andrew angrily.
“This isn’t a joke, Dr. Iho,” said Axel.
“Oh, no of course not,” she said a bit more seriously. “Didn’t mean to come off that way.”
“Then what is it, is he sick?” asked Aaron.
“He is in a way, I suppose,” she looked at me then smiled. She looked backed at all the concerned faces on my Alphas. “He’s pregnant.”
