The alpha scratched his beards repeatedly as he paced around his office. His son was supposed to be back to the pack house before midnight. He had gone into town for an important business deal with a human business partner, who had been delaying to pay off his debt. However, he stayed past midnight. When the alpha finally got tired of waiting for his son to return, he called. Richard has some other news on the phone which the alpha was eager to hear.
"I can't wait to get the details" The alpha thought to himself running his fingers on his beards more. If he heard right, his son has found his long awaited mate. This is a good thing for his son Richard, in order to be a strong alpha, he needs his destined mate not a chosen mate.
He had watched his little boy grow into a strong disciplined man in this pack. Even though he trained into a strong and handsome alpha he is still a very disciplined young man.
Since he was yet to find his mate, lots unmated she wolves usually threw themselves at him but he was determined to wait for his own fated mate. Last month his father, the current Alpha arranged with his friend who is also the current beta, to form an alliance by marrying his daughter Jane to Richard.
This was because the council of elders has continuously reminded him that it was time to hand over power to his son. Alpha Godwin Churchills, was aware of how important a real mate was to an Alpha but since his son could not find his mate since he turned eighteen till now, it was assume that his mate might have died in childhood or at birth.
In such situations, it is very normal to choose a mate. And what better mate is suitable for a strong alpha than the daughter of a beta, who is also unmated.
Although Richard had reluctantly agreed to the alliance since Jane had being a good friend from childhood. However, the moon goddess has decided to smile at him at last.
The door of the office swung open and Richard walked in with a boyish smile on his face.
"Hello Dad," Richard said joyfully as he hug his dad firmly. Although father and son were very close to each other but hugging is not part of their normal mode of displaying emotion. Right now, Richard is so excited to care, besides, it's only both of them present in the room so he could act more like a son than an alpha now.
Richard narrated his adventure to his father. The father and son had been so close to one another since Richard was still a child. They both confined in one another all the time. The Alpha knows how eager Richard had been to find his true mate and how patiently he had been preserving himself for his mate.
Richard wanted to have his mate as soon as possible now that he had found her but since she is human, she doesn't know about the existence of werewolves, vampires, fae and witches, it will be difficult to get through to her. The best option would be to woe her patiently like humans do.
The investigator has already e-mailed his findings on her family;
She is an orphan
She and her Forster parents are immigrants from Nigeria
She has lived with them for six years
The family is in serious debt, their house has been mortgaged. and they may be loosing their home soon
"What plans do you have on getting your mate without the risk of exposing our existence" The alpha Godwin asked, sitting back to observe his son who has not been able to control his smiles since he got into the office.
"I don't know yet. I have gathered some information about her but I have not decided how best to approach her.
"I am willing to support you all the way. But another problem is how to break your engagement with Jane." Alpha Godwin said worriedly
"Dad, you know that there is nothing important to me as my true mate. Please try to speak to your friend, the Beta Mark. Explain to him, why we need to call off the engagement" Richard said as he shifted uncomfortably on the chair
"You know it's not as easy as that. Your engagement with Jane had been publicly announced. You were expected to have marked each other by now but you kept putting it off. She practically lives here as the Luna to be, she has been under going all the training to prepare her for the position of a Luna. Things are complicated my son" Alpha Godwin explained patiently.
"What would you want me to do father?" Richard asked leaning closer to the desk.
"I won't mark any other female that is not Precious" he spoke calmly but firmly
"Is that her name?" the alpha raised his brows
"Yes. The investigator informed me earlier" Richard chuckle as he speak
"My son is already smitten by Love at first sight. interesting" Alpha Godwin seemed to be in thoughts as he speak
"I remember when I first saw your mom, my lovely Luna, the feeling and attraction I felt towards her was beyond human description. Till date it still feels thesame. I am glad that the moon goddess was kind enough to make you experience it also" he paused then his eyes turned darker as his body want rigid. After sometime, he relaxed and focused at his son who was sitting patiently across this desk.
"I have instructed Beta Mark to see me tomorrow morning. I want to give him the news personally, then we can take it from there." the alpha said, Smiling at Richard
"Thanks dad. I will be on my way to my house. I need to sleep early to prepare for tomorrow's adventure " he smirks, getting up from the chair.
"Any plans yet?" Alpha Godwin furrowed his brows
"No concrete plan but I will try to speak to with her for sure" Richard winks
