He saw me! It’s him, and I’m not losing my mind. I went straight home, where Iris and Cass were waiting for me.
“Mom!” Cass jumped into my arms.
“Hey, sweetheart.” I held my son a little tighter than I normally did.
I held him as if I was going to lose him. His Daddy was alive, and Cassian had a right to know who his father was.
“Are you okay, Mommy?” Cass asked, brushing hair out of my face.
What if Severin didn’t want anything to do with Cass? I couldn’t break my son’s heart like that. Cassian was so young, yet he had a heart of gold.
“I’m fine, honey. I’m just tired.”
“You need to take a nap or else you’ll be cranky.”
