chapter 3:Sunny

"Hey sleepy head !"
I open my eyes slowly only to find my roommate and close friend sitting at the edge of the bed.Her name is Autumn and she is extremely kind ,rich and pretty.Every guy literally falls head over heels when they see her.I'm not exaggerating anything because it's the truth.Walking with her is a real pain but it gives me access to alot of things because she is extremely rich and for some weird reason she really likes me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask in a lazy tone.
My eyes go straight to the floor only to see an empty space.That beautiful huge wolf- like dog is gone.A sudden emptiness cripples my whole body as I think about it.I should have been aware of my surroundings but then it's a wild animal and it has no place with humans.Never have I felt so much attachment to an animal before.I do love animals but this attachment is strong and weird.
"What are you looking at ?"Autumn follows the direction of my eyes.
"Nothing,"I rest my head on the pillow and proceed to close my eyes again.
"Are you sure because you don't look okay.Usually you are up by 4am !"she scrunches her nose ,"This 11am ,Sunny !"
I look at the time on the watch and she is right! This isn't my waking up time !
"I don't have any classes today and it's Sunday !"I grumble and pull back the blanket to cover my face.
"Yeah but I want to catch a glimpse of Lennox!"she squeels.
"No,"I deadpan underneath the covers,"I'm not interested, besides I don't want to run into Noah okay!"
It is a known thing that the baseball players like to use the Wendy's diner after practice because it has all the food options that anyone can ask for ,but after what happened last night.I don't think I have the strength to even see Noah.
" What did he do ?" She asks quietly,"You didn't call me or text me about what happened.That's the major reason why I came back."
I rise up from my sleeping position and end up bursting into tears.I don't have the strength to even explain what happened because my heart is aching from the humiliation.I know I'm not that nice but he didn't have to dump me like that.I will probably die with no husband on my side.Autumn rubs my back without saying anything.
After a few good minutes of crying my heart out.Autumn springs up from the bed and starts pulling out clothes from my closet.
"What are you doing?" I ask in horror.
"What do you think I'm doing?"she smirks,"I'm finding something proper for you to wear because I'm going to find you a new man !"
"I don't think -"
"You clothes are so dull and boring! But I'm sure you will catch some one's eyes with a proper outfit!"
"You just want an excuse to see Lennox,"I narrow my eyes at her.
Autumn turns around with a dreamy look on her face.I look at her long wavy black hair that flows down her waist,her slender figure and pretty face.She looks like a model from a magazine! Not only that ,She is a cheerleader as well and every guy just wants to get into her pants but she only has eyes for one person....and that is Lennox Glenn.
I have never really seen him or cared for him ,but he is the captain of the baseball team and a second year doing some business program.All this information was forced on me by Autumn herself.She is extremely obsessed with him and it is way past the point of a simple crush.
It doesn't help that he has never dated anyone.So her primary goal in life is to catch his attention and make sure she is the only one to date him.She denies every guy that asks her out and only puts her effort in getting noticed by Lennox.I pray that he dates her because this is...not okay.
"I know," her eyes turn misty ,"But we can kill two birds with one stone.Besides,I heard a rumor that he likes girls who are mysterious so I don't want to stand out too much !"
"Can't you-"
"Hush child!"she shushes my lips and laughs ,"We are going to Wendy's diner and that's a must. Bedsides, I don't want to go alone and look like I'm stalking him."
"Fine!" I grumble after some silence.
No matter how weird her crush is.Autumn has a bubbly and nice personality.It would really suck to see her heart get broken when Lennox doesn't choose her.So I hope this works out somehow in the end.
"Why don't you wear my dress?"she suggests. I shake my head immediately because her dress got stained with wine last night and I don't want to be traumatized again.
"Well,I don't care what you think !"she shrugs and grabs a dress from her closet and gives it to me.
In the end, instead of wearing a dress,I decide to put on Jeans,tank top and a light cardigan.
"I'm so excited!"she squeals.
We are at the entrance of the diner and my heart is already racing.Is it because I'm too scared to see Noah or maybe it's just something else?
"Don't worry," Autumn looks at me and wiggles her eyebrows," We are just going to have something light to eat and then leave.Probably Lennox won't even show up here but some other guys will."
This is not even right.It feels like I'm going against my will but she is right.I need to move on from the incident.Before I even open my mouth to reply.A violent force slams into my shoulder blades and completely knocks me on the ground.My hands immediately scramble for my glasses.I won't survive if I lose them.
"Watch where you are going four eyes!"a familiar voice growls at me.
My whole body freezes with fear when I hear the sound of his voice.This person can only be Noah!
"Hey ,leave her alone ," Autumn shouts.
"And you shut up ,"he speaks calmly and shoves her before she can even reach to me.
"You have some guts following me around like a lost puppy,"he smirks ,"Shouldn't you be embarrassed?"
My eyes glisten with tears and there's nothing more than I want but for the ground to just open up and swallow me.I reach for my glasses but Noah steps on my wrist before I can touch them.I flinch from the pain and whimper.
"You are so pathetic,"he laughs and bends down to lift my chin.
The moment my eyes lock into his brown eyes.Tears burst out like a waterfalls.I can't stop myself from trembling even though I'm supposed to be strong.Noah snickers like it's something funny.
"I will make you pay ,Noah!" My friend growls but he just smirks like he can't hear,"If you take another step,I will make sure your life is ruined.You will be on the ground like your piglet buddy here!"
"Leave her alone ,"I whimper.
"Ohhh,"he looks back at me ,"you want me to leave her alone.Then why don't you -"
"Touch her again and you will die!"a low voice growls.
The sound of the unfamiliar voice makes my body tingle and my mind to shut down.Noah removes his hand from my chin and steps back from me.I can feel the anger from the unknown stranger moving in waves.
"What are you going to do?"Noah barks ,"Just because you are the captain of our team doesn't give you the right to order me off the field."
Captain of the baseball team?My heart immediately drops.There is only one person that is the captain of the baseball team and that is...
"Lennox,"Noah growls and steps up to him ,"She is mine and mine alone.This isn't your business! So stay away."
"No,you stay away before I rearrange your face ,"Lennox replies.
What in the world is happening and why is Lennox defending me?My brain can't even compute what's happening right now.I can't hear any word from Autumn but I know she is shocked.I can't even begin to imagine what she is thinking right now.
"Don't be stupid ,"Noah sneers and raises his hand to hit him but Lennox blocks his hand immediately.
"You don't get to call me stupid, moron,"Lennox pushes him back like he is nothing,"So leave now!"
"I'm going to leave ,"Noah spits ,"Not because you asked me to, but because I have some obligations to fulfill."
And with that statement,Noah walks out like nothing happened.This is beyond what I imagined.Im sure Lennox did that because he has some sense of justice in him since he clearly doesn't know me.He is the captain of the baseball team and he is in his second year.This is just impossible.
"Looking for these,"he speaks to me in a gruff voice as he hands my glasses to me.
He sounds rude but I slowly grab the glasses from him and put them on immediately.Nothing prepares me for what I was about to see.Tall,black unruly hair tied in a man bun , tattoos peaking out of his tight back shirt and stormy gray eyes.
His eyes are similar to the gray eyes I saw yesterday ,there's no way they can be the same.
He grabs both of my hands and helps me stand on my two feet.A jolt of electricity runs through my body as his hands comes into contact with mine.Is this why Autumn likes him?
"Noah is stupid,so don't be stupid by letting him bully you ," he gives me a cold stare like I did something to disgust him.
After he walks out ,I turn my head to look at Autumn and her face is equally stunned but not the kind of stunned anyone would like.
