CHAPTER 19
The lab rushed the DNA evidence through the system and a short time later identified a suspect; a near relative of one James Flannery, recently released after serving time for manslaughter.
“That guy?” Selene exclaimed, stunned by the text she received during their wedding rehearsal dinner.
“What?” Brandon wanted to know, leaning over her arm to peer at the screen of her cell phone.
She showed him the message. “He was brought in for a hit and run but confessed to killing a woman accidentally. It was a really weird case.”
Brandon lowered his eyebrows, concentrating. “You know, I think I saw the video of the interrogation. Brady showed it to me once. The guy was desperate to confess. He was just waiting for the opportunity. Someone thinks that confession was coerced?”
