Karen and Paul turned out to be not much older than Brandon, certainly less than a decade. Karen greatly resembled Selene, to the extent that he could imagine what his girlfriend would look like in the future. Pretty. Same petite stature, same kind expression. Paul, tall and rather thickset in board shorts and a tee-shirt, ran his hand through salt-and-pepper hair and nailed Brandon with a stern but unreadable glare. I can relate to these two.
