Chapter 11

It took 3 days to clean up the old wing, they had to sanitize all the rooms due to mold and mildew. Kyno said it would take about a day for the power to get back on in that wing and as soon as that happens his people can come down. The Nautilus has been sending supplies down as much as they can, each time they did a drop the faster the power decreased. According to Logan’s dad they had about a week left. Logan was walking down the hall when he heard fighting, he peeked his head in the room. It was a big open room with rows of workout equipment against the walls, the middle of the room had a giant boxing ring with a few people standing outside of it. Inside the ring was two people fighting, when Logan stepped closer he noticed it was Rory and Someone else. Logan was fascinated by Rory’s movements, it was almost as if she was dancing around her opponent. Every time her opponent lunged at her she rolled over their body similar to the way she did Wyatts but instead of snapping their neck like she did Wyatts she kicked their backside causing them to fall on their faces. Logan can tell she was bored, no one was challenging enough for her. Logan studied her moves for a bit, after Rory defeated her opponent, Logan took off his boots and jumped in the ring. Rory smirked, “You need something?” Logan started stretching his body, “Looked like you were getting bored, figured you’d want an actual challenge.” Rory’s smirk widened into a beautiful smile, “We don’t take it easy in here, we draw blood and no one’s ever made me bleed my own blood. You sure you want to proceed?” Logan finished stretching and put his hands up ready, “Well there’s a first for everything, let’s see what you got.” Rory giggled she liked his confidence, “Ok don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Someone rang the bell and the fight started, Logan watched as Rory just stood there waiting for him to make his move. Logan slowly walked up and threw a jab, Rory dodged and went to counter but Logan blocked her attack. They went around, Rory made a move and Logan saw an opening. He went for it but was quickly countered, Rory danced around him and took his legs out from under him. Logan landed hard on his back almost knocking the wind out of him, Logan caught his breath and got back up. Rory went to throw a jab Logan managed to grab her arm and throw her over him, landing her flat on her back hard. Dazed a little she looked up at him, Logan smiled. Rory laughed and wrapped her legs around Logan’s neck and threw him across the ring. They both got up smiling, they danced around each other dodging each other’s punches, Rory got a few hits in. Logan was impressed, she hit pretty hard for a young girl. Rory went for a swing, Logan dodged and saw an opening and took it. Logan threw his elbow and connected with Rory’s face, Rory stumbled back holding her mouth. When she removed it there was some blood on her hand and dripping down her chin. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry you ok?” Logan said with sincerity, he reached his hand out. Rory grabbed his hand and flipped him to the ground, she climbed on top of him pinning him to the ground. “I won.” She said with a smile. Logan chuckled, “Depends on how you look at, I got you to bleed.” Rory let go of his wrist but didn’t move the rest of her body off him, “Point, that is a true win right there.” Rory continued to rest her body on Logan’s lower stomach, she was light like a feather he couldn’t believe how strong she really was. Her body was soft and warm, without think Logan had his hand on her thighs and gently rubbed his thumbs on them. “How did you learn to fight like that? Your stronger then you look.” Rory was about to answer but was cut off when someone clearing their throat loudly and angrily. Rory looked towards the sound, the smile quickly faded and she quickly jumped up off of Logan. Logan tilled his head back to see Levi with his arms crossed and with anger written all over his face. “My father wanted me to tell you your wing is done. You can radio your people whenever your..” suddenly he stopped in middle sentence when he looked at Rory’s face, he looked right at the cut on her lip. His face flashed with anger, he started yelling in Japanese at Logan and started to charge at him. Logan readied his body for a fight when Rory jumped in front of him yelling as well. They both stopped when Kyno stepped in and yelled one word in Japanese. Rory stood tall with her hands behind her back and stared directly at Kyno. Levi on the other hand stormed over to Kyno, “He hit her and made her bled!” Kynos eyes widened a bit, he signaled to Rory to come to him. She walked over to him, he looked at her lip and examined her throughly. With a concerned look he spoke in Japanese, with the way his tone was it sounded like questions. Rory responded in a tone of annoyance. Kyno ran his thumb across chin and nodded, “No one’s ever made Rory bleed before, you are very skilled.” “I didn’t mean to hurt her, we were just sparring and she caught my elbow.” Kyno smiled, “No need to apologize, I’m just glad she’s ok and that she’s finally found her match. She’s been complaining of winning all the time for a while now.” Rory smiled and blushed a little, "He’s very skilled, even though I won it was a very close fight.” Logan smiled. “Father!! Your just going to let this go?! What if something happened?!” Levi yelled still red in the face. “Levi settle down, nothing happened she’s fine.” Kyno said. “I wouldn’t have hurt her severely, we were just sparing having fun.” Logan said shrugging his shoulders. Levi just looked at him dumbfounded, “It’s not her safety I’m worried about!” Logan looked at him confused and was about to asked him what he meant when Kyno yelled at him in Japanese. Levi yelled back pointing at Logan then to Rory, he then rose his voice again and pointed to the whole bunker. Logan looked at Rory and saw she was looking down, Logan reached out and gently placed his hand on her shoulder. She flinched a little but saw it was Logan’s, she gave him a half smile. "It's okay, Rory." Logan said softly, trying to reassure her. Rory looked up at him, her purple eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and something else Logan couldn't quite decipher. She pressed her lips together and nodded. Kyno cleared his throat, breaking the tension. "Levi, that's enough. Logan meant no harm. And Rory," he turned to her, his voice softening, "perhaps it's time you learned to choose your battles." Levi, still fuming, stormed out of the room. Kyno sighed and turned back to Logan. "I apologize for my son's outburst. He can be...protective, especially when it comes to Rory." Logan nodded understandingly. "I get it. So, about the wing..." "Ah yes," Kyno clapped his hands together. "It's ready. You can contact your people whenever you're ready." He gave Logan a small bow and followed after Levi. Logan turned to Rory, a smile spreading across his face. "Well, that was interesting." Rory chuckled, a hint of nervousness in her voice. "Yeah, Levi can be a bit much sometimes. He just...cares a lot." "I can see that," Logan said, his eyes twinkling. "But hey, at least I got your blood pumping, right?" Rory laughed, the sound echoing through the empty room. "Yeah, you definitely did that." She paused, her smile fading slightly. "Logan, about what Levi said..." "Don't worry about it," Logan interrupted, sensing her hesitation. "He's just looking out for you. I get it." Rory looked at him, her eyes searching his. "It's not just that," she said quietly. "There's something you need to know about...about me." Logan's heart skipped a beat, "What is it, Rory?" Rory took a deep breath, her gaze dropping to the floor. "It's...complicated. Just know...just know that Im starting to trust you, Logan." Logan's mind raced, trying to understand her cryptic words. He sensed a deep secret, something that weighed heavily on her. He decided to respect her privacy, for now. "I trust you too, Rory," he said, his voice sincere. "Whatever it is, whenever you're ready, I'll be here." Rory looked up at him, her eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and a hint of sadness. She reached out and gently touched his arm. "Thank you, Logan. That means a lot." They stood there for a moment, an unspoken understanding passing between them. The tension in the room had shifted, replaced by a sense of shared vulnerability. "I should get to the radio," Logan said, breaking the silence. "I need to tell my people it's time." Rory nodded, "I'll see you around then." Logan nodded then walked in silence towards the radio room, the weight of her unspoken secret hanging in the air. Logan couldn't shake the feeling that Rory was hiding something significant, something that could change everything. But for now, he focused on the task at hand: bringing his people home.
