A Dark Promise

Ashley Winter, I sat up, hanging my head forward with a curtain of long dark plum purple hair hanging loosely in curly locks around my head, and draping my shoulders. I never cared for the mornings, but my younger brother Andrew, was always up with the sun it seemed. "Ash, come on... We are going to be late for orientation with our new Alpha!" He shouted out, excited to join an actual pack, while I was mildly enthused for most of the things I heard was from our late father, Ryan Winter. "You do remember that I will only be allowed entrance in the pack because of you, right, Andrew?" I reminded which may have sounded more cynical, but I was not an actual werewolf, but a human with other skills they deemed necessary to watch cautiously. Getting out of bed, wearing a long fleece gown that hung down to my ankles as I trudged into the kitchen of our small house. Andrew already dressed in a pair of slacks and slightly nice white shirt, which was him trying to look professional for a kid about fourteen years old. I was almost seventeen, three years older than Andrew and our mother was currently in prison serving a sentence she had put on herself for a crime I rather not get into right now. "Ash, come on, your still in your pajamas and we have to meet the alpha soon." Andrew whined out towards me, which I could only roll my eyes in response to him. Starting to cook some pancakes for myself and Andrew, before getting some clothes to wear; A set of fleece leggings, and a mauve dress that hid her frame, but complimented her figure. After around thirty minutes and breakfast, I was dressed in my fleece leggings and the mauve dress, a stomach full of fluffy pancakes and minty breathe from brushed teeth as well. "Finally ready to meet our pack." Andrew comments, rubbing his belly happily, even though I was the one who cooked the food and made him wait on meeting his new pack. The cottage we live in was a short walk away from a bus route one way, and the other way leads to the pack house where we need to go to meet the Alpha of FrostWind Pack. ~~~~~~ "I agreed on the condition of knowing my nephew... You seeing your family." Alpha of FrostWind Pack, Austin Pierce, spoke explaining to his son, Junior, why the Winters were joining the pack. Looking towards his Beta next, who was Chris Kernz. Chris Kernz, was just starting as Beta, but he would be the beta for Jason when the current alpha stepped down from their position. "I want to have the family be a part of ours." Austin Pierce states, before looking at a picture with a young woman that was smiling brightly, her hair flowing down, dirty blonde locks noticeable and her bright blue eyes shimmering in the picture. While, right next to her was a man who had a rust red hair color, that looked closer to simply brown in coloring in simple lighting. "Her brother was Ryan Winters, their father, and it is only right to have his family become a part of ours." He laments and caused both Junior and Chris to lower their head slightly in respect to the current Alpha and quiet, for they would rather give the passed on Luna the respect of getting her family united. ~~~~~~ Arriving at the house, Ashley was quiet as she walked her brother, Andrew into the main building and looked around the room. The room she entered was like a central hub, there were a couple couches in different areas of the room and a couple of table stands for either lamps or small drinks to rest, while a wide coffee table was centered of the room. "Greetings the Winters." spoke Chris Kernz, whom was aiming for being more friendly and open to the new pack mate. Junior, whom was also known as Austin and is why called Junior, was eyeing both Andrew and Ashley carefully. Seeing the subtle differences like how Ashley had plum purple hair while Andrew had slightly dark red hair, almost brown in color. Andrew did not hit his growth spurt yet and was only at most five foot tall, while Ashley was taller than him, but she was also leaning lazily too. Her dress was simple and hugged her form, but also was rather shapeless for a dress too. While Andrew wore clothes that could resemble a suite which made him look like a miniature adult, although he still had some baby fat on his face too where it was hard to see the adult and mature figure before them to come. "We came to ask acceptance to your pack, the FrostWind." Ashley started, her arms crossed and sitting on the armrest of one of the chairs in the room, while looking at Chris who welcomed them. "Andrew is here to join your pack. I am just morale support." Ashley bluntly stated, taking the reigns of explaining why she and Andrew were there at all. Andrew briefly looked towards Ash in a expression that could be called resentment, or even a type of pleading to stop what she was doing. Chris remained quiet, as he was only there to welcome the newcomers, not to say they have joined or not. Waiting for the alpha and future alpha to come to the common room and help with the Winters family. "Ash, you could of let me explain things..." He whined out lightly, not wanting to get heard out as complaining around his new pack and felt warmth in his cheeks from the attention. Rubbing at his cheeks with the palms of his hands gently to get the pinkness to lightly go away. "Andy, I came for you to be okay. Once I am done here, I am going to visit mom." Her eyes focused on Chris and anyone else she felt would try and intimidate her, than turned to Andrew, "You can come with me and visit her, if want to?" voice softening in the end to gently coax him to come with her if feeling up to it.
