Arion's pov
I watched as my annoying brother lay on the floor. It had been exactly two minutes since I shocked him again. He was just getting on my nerves. Anyway, I soon decided that it would be a good idea for me to head over to Devon's house. You know, bodyguards must always be on time.
I entered his house. Sorry, I meant to say mansion. But it's nothing special, my parents have an entire palace. This doesn't phase me one bit. I headed over to the front door and met a girl about my age. She was sobbing. I couldn't quite see who she was. She wiped her eyes furiously when she saw me. She then got up and walked to the house before stopping short directly outside the door to the house and addressing me. " hey, are you my brother's new security detail?" she asks "Yeah, " I say with a nod and she smiles at me before adding " well come on in, you won't be able to protect him from there. " I walked up the path leading to their front door in silence and up the stairs and once I was standing directly in front of her, I noticed that she was really beautiful. "I'm Dixie, " she introduced herself with a smile that did not reach her eyes for they looked really sad and redrimmed from the crying. Her eyes looked just like Devon's. I wonder why she is not mentioned in the file. But it's just like Agent Carter giving us half the information for missions because he likes drama but you didn't hear that from me. Nobody says it out loud but we all know it's true. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Dixie said that she'd take me to see her brother so I'm right. I guess Agent Carter will have a blast watching us. The inside of the house was big and lavish. A huge living room with a bunch of sofas and a glass coffee table. She led me past the living room and up a flight of stairs that led to a massive hallway that was lined with doors on each side. The floor was black marble. The doors were white. She then knocked on one of the doors before entering. " Dixie, go ahead and start dinner, I'll join you soon but for now, I'm really busy, okay? " a voice said and I assumed that it belonged to Devon and my suspicions were proved right when the sight of said person came into focus. He sat at a table behind a pile of folders. He looked more tired than in the photo earlier this month. To his right were some papers and placed neatly on top of them was a pen. " your new security detail, " Dixie said quietly as she gestured for me to enter the room fully and not just hung at the door. When I was in the room I realised that it looked identical to my parent's study room. They are the reason I joined the agency. He looked up and nodded at me. " Adonis, it says here that you served in the force for five years before deciding to join the Secret Service and now you want to be my bodyguard. Well, you're hired. I expect you to be here at four A:M tomorrow he said with a tone of finality. Just then, Kate walked into the room carrying a stark of folders which she added to the pile and then quickly exited without saying a word. I haven't seen her since last weekend when she picked Ally up from my place after I had babysat for her for the whole day because she had to work at Dragon Corp and Rosie won't be returning for a month. So the little ball of energy will have to spend most of her weekends with me. To be honest I love that kid. When the incident happened, I had only known Kate for two months but since then we have been inseparable.
I left the house and returned home to my brother lying on the couch fast asleep. With a loud groan that was intended to wake him up, I told him to go drool elsewhere preferably, in the guest room. " Shut up moron and let me sleep in peace," he grumbled sleepily. " Yeah, I will if you do it in the right place," I say while nudging him. With a groan, he gets up and heads to the guest bedroom. I hear the door slam with a thud and then head to my room where I just fall onto my bed. Three hours later, I'm awake and on my way to the Dragon mansion where I find Devon working out. I wonder why he wants a bodyguard with such a body. But I'm not jealous. I also work out a lot thanks to my job. And that is how my cover as Adonis began. It has been two weeks since that morning. The day was pretty uneventful as all I did was follow him everywhere and stand perfectly still the whole time without uttering a single word. Which I just have to say, is just as boring as watching paint on a wall dry. But I was glad when the day ended and went home to find the house empty and silent and except for a piece of paper placed neatly on the coffee table, everything was a little more organised than when I left earlier this morning. I guess Rob decided to go back home and leave me in peace. Deciding not to think much about it, I headed to bed and was fast asleep as soon as I hit the bed. No, don't go… you can't do this to me, you can't make me go through it again. " she cried out. I was ten years old and I watched as my dear father kicked my sister out of the house. He was angry because she had rejected the marriage proposal that my father had tried to force her into. My sister and I had always been close and even though I was only ten, I could tell that whatever was happening was not pretty. My father grabbed her by her elbow and then proceeded to drag her out of the house while she pleaded with him to let her go. I jolted awake at the sound of my alarm.
