The Master and the Lord

1026 Words
When I woke up, my head was killing me. I was able to see in this new room, it was really bright for me. I had to lay there and let my eyes adjust. I finally sit up. I feel sick. Looking around, I see someone had brought my blanket, pillow, and mattress from my old room. It's daylight, There's a very small window above my bed towards the ceiling of this room. I stand up from the mattress and turn to face the window. I can just make out the ground around it. If only it was low enough to see completely out of it, I might be able to see where I am. I know I don't know exact places, but I'd at least be able to see if there are other houses or something that might help me get out of here. 'Samuel, I'm up. Where are we?' No response. 'Samuel?' I can't seem to mind link Samuel. And I can't see out the window at all, nothing but the ground and some grass is all I can see. looking around the room more, I see a bucket, I don't know what that's for. I'm happy to find a new box with my belongings. It's not much, but they're everything I have. I find my stuffy, my books that Samuel had given me,clothes, my flashlight, batteries, my hair ties, and hair brush. I can hear footsteps above me. They're heavy and loud. I shoot to my mattress, which is the farthest corner from the door. As I hear the footsteps descending the stairs, I become fearful. If it was Samuel, he surely would have answered my mindlink, right? Knock! Knock! Knock! "Eat" a male voice projects from the other side of this door A flap opens, and there's food slid through it. I don't even look at the food . "Where's Samuel?" I demand in a voice I've never heard myself speak, not like that. Hearing my own voice was actually scary. I've never sounded like that before. I don't even think of the consequences for speaking out of turn. "I thought they said she was silent?" I a man says. "She was supposed to be trained to be silent. Maybe she needs a reminder." Oh no, I offended them. I think to myself "Hey, you in there. Just eat the damn food and be quiet." I walk over, grab the food, and start eating, it was a weird gray mushy substance and a glass of water. It resembles porridge but looks a lot worse. I gulp it down as fast as I can because I'm hungry. "You done in there? you can answer me." "Yes," "Stick your arm through the door, if you try anything funny. I'll beat the hell out of you." The door opens little and I stick my arm through. He injects the shot into my arm. It hits me harder than usual. A stinging warmth hit my my whole body hard and quick. It almost knocks me down. I grip the wall next to me for support as I bring my arm back down and the men close the door. I lean more on the wall and slide to s sitting position on the floor. This shot they gave me is just making me dizzy. I'm starting to see doubles of everything in my room. I hear a voice but at this point I can't tell if it's real or if I'm hallucinating this. "You'll be here for a while. Get used to it. Your bathroom is the bucket in there. One of us or both of us will empty it every night. there's toilet paper on the other side of the bucket done use lot that will only be replaced when we feel the need. When we enter your room each night, you will remain on your bed, and you are not to address us unlees we say to. Do you understand?" I don't say anything. I'm still unsure if this is a dream or not. "You can speak, runt. Do you understand?" he says more forcefully as he pounds on the door. "Yes," "You will call me Master. The man next to me you will call Lord. Do you understand? Speak." "Yes." "Yes, what?" "Yes Master" This is how you will address us. You will not leave this room. You will only stay here till we decide otherwise. Do you understand? Speak" "Yes Master" "Oooo... I like the way you say that. Say my name." Lord says. "Yes, Lord." "Good girl, now go to your bed. Oh, and runt don't try to escape there's no where to go for miles." Lord says with a small chuckle. I crawl to my bed and lay down. The effects of the shot are starting to wear off a bit. I can hear them walk up the stairs. and it sounds like they're going through a door. Did they leave? I need to get my barings. I need to relax. Where's Juniper? Didn't the Goddess say I'd see or at least hear her soon. where is she? I continue to lay on the bed till I can see straight. I haven't heard the men for a long time. I can sit up now without feeling dizzy, which is good. Since they're not here as far as I can tell, I wonder if there's a way out. I look around. I grab my box, then the bucket and put them on my bed to see if I can get out the window above my bed. It's no use. The window has some sort of metal bars and lock on it, and without juniper, I wouldn't be able to break it. I know the door isn't a way out, and there's a vent, but it's not even big enough to put my leg. I wish there was something I could do to get out. Then it hits me. The Moon Goddess didn't want me to leave help is on the way. I just have to have faith. She was right. I am starting to question her. What help? And where is Samuel?
