Once they were on Hatchwater Alec knew they were safe. He dropped his gun onto the table, stretching out his fingers for what felt like the first time in hours, and gestured for the ship to start take off procedures. “Is all well, Alec?”
“As well as it can be.”
“Where are we going?”
“My little hideaway. Just for the night.”
“Is that a good idea?”
“Probably not, but hopefully we won’t have anyone following us now. A lot of the hunters who were after us are probably dead now.” Alec shrugged. “Serves them right for thinking they could take me.”
“James did a lot of the work.” Kaisa took one of the seats, looking as tired as he felt, and he smiled at her. “If it wasn’t for him, we’d probably be a lot lower on ammo.”
