Chapter 3- My new husband

Ruby's POV:

In one day my world changed. I was having twins and one was a boy. I knew Andre would come back for him, but I'd kill him if he came close to my son. These were no longer our kids, they were mine. My wolf Fyre paced in my head at the thought, she'd been so patient through this time but I know she needed to be let out. I headed towards the business meeting when I felt a shift in the air. I walked up to the office, but the door was already open. I stepped in and as much as I hate to admit it, my heart stopped. Behind the desk was a man even more attractive than Andre. He had dark brown hair long past his ears to his chin, tattooed arms, and he was ripped! I don't know how his shirt was still intact holding in his muscles. He looked up at me & I almost melted meeting his deep green eyes as he smiled. I quickly shook myself back to reality as Fyre was purring in my head. She didn't even react like this to Andre. He got up from his desk and he towered over me at 6'5 I guessed. He walked over and smiled at me.

"Hi, I'm Sean Mclough. The new Alpha."

"And my new husband," I couldn't stop the words from coming out of my mouth. I had never been that forward, what on Earth?!

He smiled at me and laughed, "well yes that too as you clearly must be Ruby."

I relaxed at how laid back he seemed and couldn't help but joke back, "was the hair the give away?"

He smiled as he led me over to my chair next to him at the desk, "seemed like a pretty easy guess."

I took my seat, and he sat next to me. I don't know why but I felt so much more relaxed and calm with him next to me. Whether it was having the new Alpha or Sean himself I'd have to find out. He turned to look at me and I remembered we were about to have a business meeting so I better fill him in.

"All joking and formalities aside we have a business meeting in 10 minutes we need to prepare for so let me give you some local information. There isn't a human within 100 miles from here unless they are mated to or know of werewolves. Every town from here to the 100 mile perimeter is part of our pack, with every business being run by wolves or witches in the case of herbs, restaurants, or apothecary."

"Witches run the restaurants?"

"Yes, they are the best at properly seasoning the food. Most wolves out here consider salt & pepper their seasonings unfortunately. Today we negotiate the fee the businesses pay. We do not use one fee for all stores as that is unrealistic. A herb shop and a higher end restaurant do not have the same profits there for it is not fair to make each pay the same fee. We are going to be looking over last year's profits and see what fee each should pay, along with any not making profits where they can cut cost and also improve."

"Throwing me right in on my first day huh? Alright guess I better learn how to swim. So I'm assuming the Elder's number of 558 wolves is completely inaccurate?"

"Absolutely. We take in rejected or abandoned wolves constantly. 558 was our population 2 years ago, we are pushing 2,000 right now. What gave you that impression?"

"I decided to start looking through the files here and the meeting schedule while I waited for you. Since we are meeting with over 100 businesses & that information was not given to me I figured the Elder's had old information."

He was very smart, and a good head on his shoulders. Entera couldn't have gotten luckier with a new Alpha it seemed. Suddenly I realized he was leaning closer to me. I must not have been listening to what he was saying.

He leaned towards my ear and whispered, "Maybe tonight you could come help me out? Might need some help with this office." I blushed as my mind went completely down the gutter. I felt my wetness pooling between my legs, and when I looked at him I saw his eyes flashing back & forth to black. His wolf was trying to come forward, and I knee he smelled my arousal. I felt my body growing hotter, when a sudden knock at the door broke our concentration. In walked one of the locals and I knew we were in for a long afternoon.
