Chapter 4: Sean's first day

845 Words
Sean POV: I almost couldn't contain myself when this beautiful creature was not only beside me, but my new wife & Luna. I had a mate, but rejected her when I caught her with another wolf in our bed. We had been mates only 6 months and the entire time she never stopped seeing her old boyfriend. Part of the reason I wanted to leave Europe was she had been stalking me for 2 years now. Plus being the second son of Alpha Edmund meant in Europe I would be gawked at like a piece of meat, Alpha training meaning nothing. I felt bad for my older brother Mark as he was future Alpha of Loch Ness, and even worse for his mate having to fight off his fan girls. However now was not the time for wandering minds. This pack needed my best Alpha abilities and my full attention. We were halfway through the businesses and most had profitable years. By the numbers our fees are up by $1,000 from previous years, but this pack will need more to sustain its members. I've been jotting down notes with each business so I can try to remember who owns what, but I'm shocked at how Ruby knows each member. When they said her Luna skills were impressive they were being kind, she is perfect. As the next business leaves she leans back in her chair and sighs. "Alright there love?" I ask. "Just pregnancy fatigue hitting me is all." "What can I get you?" She looks at me shocked by the question, but before she argues I stand up and look at her, " I'm not saying you aren't capable but first you need a break, you can't push yourself so hard. Second as an Alpha and your future husband it is part of my job to take care of you. So again what can I get you?" "A grilled cheese and a water please," she smiled at me. "On it. & no more meetings until I return ok? I need to meet them and know them, plus I truly enjoy watching you be a Luna." I left her blushing as I went to the kitchen to make her the food. Upon entering I found my brother shoveling some type of sandwich in his mouth, while a few different wolves raced around doing housework. I stopped one young she-wolf, but she raced away quickly. "Good luck getting them to stop," Peter said, "it's like they are possessed to work." I growled and finally grabbed a young girl, approximately 10 years old, and sat her on the counter. She stopped and gawked at me. "What are you doing?" I asked. "The new Alpha is coming and we must prepare or he will be mad at us Omegas." "Why would he be mad?" "Because Omegas make the house spotless for Alphas and do whatever he pleases," she answered back. I held back my snarl as I didn't want to scare her anymore, especially reinforcing apparently what their thought is of Alphas was. I finally smiled at her holding back my anger, "the Luna is hungry from all her meetings today. Can you help me find what I need to make her lunch?" "But an Omega should make her food not a visitor," she retorted. Oh boy did I have somethings to fix here. "Nonsense, I'm just being a gentleman. Besides it's only a grilled cheese and a water." The girl showed me where everything was, and within 20 minutes I had grilled cheeses for both Ruby and I with water. I made my way back upstairs and found Ruby looking through some paperwork on the desk. She looked up and smiled at me. Oh that smile could melt any man to a puddle. I handed her a sandwich and half of mine with the water. "You are pregnant. So the sandwich is for you, the other half is for the baby." "Babies," she smiled. "Babies?" "Twins. Found out today." "So do you want the other half of my sandwich for the other baby?" she busted out laughing and man I'm ready to listen to that laugh forever. "No, you can have it. You need to eat too." "So, Ruby how many more meeting do we have?" "About 42, however these are the ones who's profits haven't changed much so fees will stay the same. Can wrap this up in about 2 hours." "Good, because I believe you and I need to go over some things together." "Oh really?" "Yes. Plus this will give me a reason to show you my actual cooking skills outside of the grilled cheese options." She laughed at me again as she took a bite from her sandwich. I don't know how I've become so captivated by this woman already, but I know I'm the luckiest man alive to have her. I am counting down the days until the separation ceremony, so I can marry this woman. And her ex mate is a dead man if I ever find him for hurting her.
