Scarr that's alot, and you just agreed to this?"
"I don't really have a choice,do I?" I said
"With the money and the man involve. No you don't, cause I know even if you refuse he would do anything to make you do it." Brian said.
"I realised that."
"But look on the bright side scarr you would become a knight! A f**cking freeking knight! Scarr that's power." Brian said dramatically, which made me roll my eyes at him and which I come to realize rolling my eyes was becoming a habit these days.
"What's so amazing about that?, besides it's just for a while, two Years."
"'Two years of amaizingness if there is a word like that. He said in total excitement.
“So have you told Arya already?" He continued
"No and I am sure she's mad as well. Ahhh! I am a horrible friend, friends don't do this." I admitted as I face palm my face.
"Finally you realised that, so its lunch time let's go have lunch and from there you tell Arya okay? Brian offered.
" sure."
When we both left Brian's office for the cafe, Brian called Arya on the phone and told her to meet him at the coffee shop which she said she was already
there.
When we got to the coffee shop Arya was already sitting at our favorite table using her phone, and with the way her brows were frowned Brian and I could tell she wasn't in a good mood.
"Hey you what's up?, and what's wrong
you look upset." Brian asked as he took his
usual seat, and I did the same.
"Nothing really just work." Arya said waving the topic aside with her hand.
"So? you are getting married and you didn't even bother to tell me?" Arya said annoyed. She was angry with me, it was written all over her face.
"No its not like that-“
"Then how is it? please do explain."
" its complicated OK, it caught me unaware and I didn't have a choice in it either. Please don't be mad at me OK, I would explain everything to you OK." I said sincerely.
And I told Arya the same thing
I told Brian, causing Arya to frown sometimes in between the story and sometimes laugh about my whole situation.
"Okay understandable, but am not letting you go just like that, you are paying for lunch through out thewhole week."
"Deal." I said smiling.
Typical Arya.
"Mrs knight?" A man in black suite and dark shade glasses said behind behind me startling the three of us.
"Ermm yes?" I answered not sure of what to say.
"Ma'am your mother in law is waiting for you at your husband's office she said I should come get you,you both are supposed to go get your wedding dress this afternoon." The man said.
"Mother in law? Husband?" I said confused, which made everyone on the table including the man in black suite to roll their eyes at me.
"Duh! Of course your mother-in-law and husband, scarlet oh please." Brian said and snapped his fingers in my face.
"Oh God I forgot, sure let's go" I said as I picked up my phone from the table and apologized to my friends before I left with the man.
As I got into the car, the man insisted that I should use the car instead of walking even tho the office was a walking distance.
When the elevator signaled that we had reached our destination, i let out a breath and stepped out with the man following behind like a body guard.
I got into the office, and Noah was sitting on his chair frowning while his mother was smiling like she won a million dollars.
"Good afternoon ma'am, sir." I greeted.
" oh please dear call me mother or Susan, ok? you are my daughter in law and now my family And Noah is your husband. I know he looks harsh and mean but trust me he's a Teddy bear inside, easy to cuddle."
"Mom please stop and just do what you are supposed to do, and Scarlet you don't keep me waiting, and if am to advise you, you'd better end whatever relationship you have with that man cause I do not approve of
him." Noah said coldly to his mom then to me.
‘I had been expecting to see her since the board meeting was adjourned, if not for anything I just wanted to see her I guess. when she didn't come it irritated me, so i took my anger out on every
one. I asked to know where she was and I was told that she was with a guy named Brian for close to an hour. what happened after that wasn't explainable .. the anger, the rage, the images that came to my mind. Of course i told myself i wasn't jealous only fools that believed in love got jealous and was only angry that she was a flirt and a cheat who had no shame and i was going to marry that kind of person. I asked for a background check on Brian and discovered that the two have known each other for ten years now.This information made me even more upset. I was going through everything about Brian when my mother in all her glory barged into my office annoying me the more.’
"Noah son, you don't need to be like that to her,show some respect she's your wife!” Susan said, cutting Noah out of his little conversation with himself.
“more reasons why she should do as I say." Noah said, his voice leaving a trace of annoyance.
"I am right here, and I can hear you both, Noah you can't tell me to end my friendship with Brian,he's my best friend and in the contract it doesn't state that you have the right to end my friendship with my best friends." I said.
" please mom can you guys get going? I am working here." Noah said, dismissing what I said.
"C'mon Scarlet, let's leave this old grump alone." Susan said smiling sweetly at me.
I noded and returned a smile as we left the office with Noah's mother.
The ride to the boutique wasn't anything but fun, Noah's mother was those mother's you call cool, she was fun to be with in just few minutes drive I had with her. I was already fond of her, they were alike in many ways.. they were like the fairy tale kind of people.
Noah's mom Susan, told me how she had met Noah's father and how everything was magical until he had a tragic accident four years ago that put him in a coma.
When mrs Susan got to that part she couldn't help but shed a tear it was still painful, she immediately brightened up as she noticed even me was at the bridge of tears.
"And we have arrived,the best designer that has ever lived on the surface of the earth!" Mrs Susan exclaimed dramatically causing me to laugh out loud.
"C'mon Scarlet, let's go see your magical wedding dress, you ready?"
"Sure."
