Chapter 1.
Meridith threw herself onto her soft mattress covered in pink cotton bed sheets
"Back from another date, huh? " her best friend Gwen said
Meridith sighed heavily..
She had been on so many dates in the space of a very little time..
She didn't really remember much details of each date, but she certainly remembered one when the guy she met was greatly displeased that she wore trousers for a dinner date.
She had just come back from work that day, what was she supposed to do, when her mom called her to tell her a date was waiting for her at a fancy restaurant?
That was so embarrassing, and this one she just experienced was the last one she wanted to experience.. she was going to tell mom to stop all the dates, but she knew it'll be impossible..
"Gwen.. I'm tired..I don't want this anymore.. " she said
"Try dating sites then.. "
Meridith rolled her eyes..Gwen had always been like that.. never taking anything serious..
"Gwen, it's no joke.."
"Then forget it girl.. Just focus on your work, remember you have a massive project.. that could 'change' your life.. " Gwen winked
She knew what that meant immediately she thought about the project..
She was going to work as an advisor to a big businessman. But then, she often wondered.. Why would they need advisors if they had made it big?
Some of them just needed P. As but then, it was hard to find one, and she certainly wasn't ready for that..
But this project made her think alot.. This big man, wanting advice from her.. Wasn't he probably more experienced in this field than her?
But then, she loved her job.. Just helping people out and sometimes telling them about contracts they should sign and those they shouldn't. It was less stress..
As she looked back at Gwen, she knew Gwen referred to her eventually having something to do with the businessman - which she never thought of..
"Gwen please.. " Meridith said with a light laughter
"I feel a little bad for you Meri..and honestly, I hope you find someone.." Gwen said with a smile "..I gotta go.. " she got up, waved with a smile and walked through the door..
When Gwen left, Meridith lay on her bed feeling down and alone.. again..
She didn't have the urge to eat or do anything, but there was one thing she had to do - pack her bags for tomorrow.
Tomorrow she was leaving for work to her client's house..What a project..
She immediately got up and began packing up her things and then, after an hour of arrangement, she felt the urge to take a bath and eat..
She had decided to take Gwen's advice.. Focus on her work and forget about all those stuff..
She wasn't going to let mom bother her about marriage..but she knew it'll be so difficult, since mom kept reminding her every single day of the week that she was 24 already. Like that was a major problem.. She never really knew what mom wanted..As she lay down to sleep, she couldn't stop thinking about the project, about how her client would be.. She really hoped it'd be a nice person, because she had come across alot of arrogant people..
As her thoughts continued, it eventually gave way into a deep, restful night's rest.

Meridith woke up the next morning feeling really full of energy..
Heartbreaks never really bothered her; she'd gone through alot of them.. and last night, decided it would take a long time before she got into any relationship..
As she got ready and waited for her ride with her luggage in her hands, she stared at her phone camera to check out herself, if she had too much makeup on..
People had always complained that she had too much makeup on- even when she never put any.. She was probably just naturally beautiful with her slightly plump face, slender reddish-pink lips, pointed nose and thick curly black-brown hair matching the hazel eyes under thick long lashes and fair skin tone.
As she waited, she tapped her palm on her lap in a particular rhythm, while the other hand held her phone which she used to keep on checking the time..
After several minutes of waiting, her ride arrived.
"Good morning Don! " she greeted the driver
"Miss Meridith.. always looking as pretty as ever.. " Don said as her opened the door for her and put her stuff in the trunk.
"Thank you.. "
"When you get to the office, all eyes will be on you.. "
"Why? " she asked
"Why not? You're pretty, hardworking, most loved, and your client is big.. "
"Huh? You've seen the client? "
"You haven't even seen him? He's a fine young man.. quiet and silent in every move" Don said
Don was very chatty and always had the latest gist, and of course loved talking to Meridith, because she was the only one who would listen to him even if he talked gibberish.
Meridith began to feel scared..and just as Don had said, when she got to the office, all eyes - especially those of the jealous receptionists were on her..
Meridith walked into her boss' office and saw who she thought to be client sitting on the chair..
He was just like Don's description..
'A fine young man.. quiet and silent in every move'
but he surely did forget to add that he was crazily handsome..
"Good morning Mr. Blinks.. "Meridith greeted her boos, then turned to the young man "..good morning sir.. "
"Meridith, morning, have a seat.. " Mr. Blinks said
The young man smiled politely at Meridith and said "Morning Miss Meridith.. "
She smiled slightly..
"This is Mr. Greg Mclarry.. "
"Oh.. " Meridith said "Miss. Meridith Addams.. "
"Nice to meet you"Mr. Greg said as they shook hands
Mr. Blinks continued "Hope you have your things ready? You're leaving right away.. "
"Of course sir.. " Meridith said, and at once, they were off, sitting at the back seat of a black Cadillac.
Meridith sat close to the door, trying to look very professional in the presence of her client.. "You don't have to do that.. " Mr. Greg said
She turned at the sound of his voice.. She had just properly heard his voice now.. He had spoken in a whisper back at the office. Now, his voice was deep and firm.. very charming..
"Huh? " she asked in her sharp thin voice
"Acting all professional..you don't have to.. "
She was shocked at this man..
"I really don't understand sir.. " she said
"I like to be free with people around me.. even those I work with.. You can call me Greg.. " he said simply..
"But -"
"You don't work for me.. You can be free with me.."
"Somehow, I do.. "
"Nah.. You're here to advice me.. " he said
"Right.. "Meridith said slowly
"So.. Greg.. " he said with his hand out
She turned to stare for sometime "Meridith.. " she said
"We should get to know each other Meridith.. It's.. important.." he said as he glanced to her direction.
It took them a really long time before they finally arrived in a huge mansion.. Of course he was rich.. filthy rich..but then, he didn't talk much about it..
As they got down, a lady ran to where they were, hugging Greg tight.
"Babe, what took you so long?" the lady said
"Kayla, stop. We have a guest.. " Greg said. He didn't look pleased.
"Yes? And so? Can't I welcome you anymore? "
"There's no need for that.. Everything's been settled. "Greg said simply and gestured for Meridith to come in, then paused "She's Meridith, my advisor.. " he said as they walked in.
